Didn't even break a nail. Thanks gonna do mine today have done a few in the past but it's been a while mine is the original 138k mi. One of the few things we can still do ourselves. Almost attempted to do the water pump last year have done a few of those too but saw all the stuff in the way chickened out and took it somewhere.
Why do you take off the positive battery connection and not the negative? Everywhere online says to take off the negative. I am doing this replacement tomorrow in my truck so I want to be sure

definitely NOT a ground wire to the alternator. That wire is the main power wire running to the alternator. Please don't get that confused!
