The PGA TOUR heads to Charlotte, North Carolina this week for the Wells Fargo Championship at Quail Hollow Club - site of the 2017 PGA Championship and 2022 Presidents Cup. This is the sixth signature event of the season, which features an elite field of 69 players. Rory McIlroy returns this week to a place where he’s had plenty of success. He’s claimed three victories here (2010, 2015 and 2021), as well as five top-10s. He enters this week with momentum after winning the Zurich Classic of New Orleans with Shane Lowry two weeks ago. Wyndham Clark will also tee it up as he looks to become the first player to win back-to-back here. This was Clark’s first win on TOUR, and he has claimed two more titles since that victory - including the U.S. Open. Xander Schauffele will also be in Charlotte this week as he hopes to secure his first win. He finished second here in 2023 and claimed T25 or better in 10 of 11 events this season. Others to look out for are Max Homa, Justin Thomas, Collin Morikawa and Tommy Fleetwood.

Once Rory gets his wedge game and putting dialed in right this past week, he’s as unstoppable as peaked Tiger or Scottie. I hope he keeps this going for some time. He’s gonna win some majors in the next few years for sure.

He may be judged by how many majors he wins but sweet lord we are lucky to be able to watch Rory play golf along side so many amazing players.

@@roblockhart8410 totally agree. Just feel like because he hasn’t won the grand slam he’s not considered one of the greats which I just totally disagree with. He’s number 2 in the world at 35 and almost 20 years as a pro. Guys an absolute legend of the sport.
@@1dale1dalewell only 5 guys have ever won a grand slam. Really only one since all of the advancements in technology available to players now. We might never see a grand slam winner again. Out of guys who have a chance Rory is at the top of the list. Wouldn’t surprise me if he gets a major win this year the way he’s playing.

@@1dale1daleyeah I also think the hype surrounding Rory when he joined the PGA plays a lot into it too. He’s was being touted as the next Tiger which was putting a ton of pressure on a kid and people kind of expected him to win tournaments. Had he flown under the radar and starting winning bigs tournaments people would have more appreciation for what he’s done. Real golf fans know though.
