    Don't worry about negative comments...there's always someone that complains about everything...you do a wonderful job and treat the dogs with so much compassion...the time and patience you took with this one is to be commended...most groomers wouldn't allow it in their shops...keep up the good work...

    At the end of the day, you do what’s right for the dog. That’s the important thing. And helping educate owners about what dogs like this need for grooming. Many people don’t know that regularly grooming dogs like this is way more than beauty. It’s part of their health care, and well being.

    I finally found and watched both videos. You’re correct in that removing the dead fleas by comb is slow tedious work.
    If you’d like I’ll write down the steps & supplies I use which to me are less labor intensive and far less tedious than a flea comb catching 1-2 bodies at a time.
    Cheers

    I enjoy seeing the long videos, especially one like this. The picking off of fleas is quite satisfying. You know that poor dog will feel so much better.

    Hi, New Sub! You have a really sweet demeanor about you. First groomer I've seen that didn't sound like they were about to stroke out.
    Refreshing. ❤

    God bless you and your kind heart for helping this dog. You're RIGHT! The dog can't help itself. It is just in a bad situation. Not even a bad owner. Times of covid, no job, no money, at least she is bringing the dogs to be groomed.

    I tried several times from Nov 2019 - Jan 2020, and I adopted around 6 dogs (all owners came back to reclaim them), but these little cuties will definitely get adopted the day they arrive, lol. Little guys like this don't last and will probably spend a week at most at the shelter, which is the amount of time they give the owner to reclaim.

    Imagine my shock when I heard my name mentioned! I’m glad you found that funny. My college-aged kids just hardcore eyeroll. 😄
    Also, does this dog have a prolapsed uterus? I can’t quite figure out what’s going on in the back.

    Your video is great and you can tell you have a real passion for what you do and to help animals, buti will say that I think the little dog was left wet and cold for a bit too long. I think rinsing her down with warm water throughout the combing process would have been more comfortable for her. 😌😏

    When I have rescued dogs. I always FRONTLINE them 1-2 days before bathing them and the fleas are dead by then. You should ask the owner to apply the medicine a few days before.

    I watching your videos as I can see how the dog enjoy the grooming. They are licking and have happy face. I wonder how you define fleas in the US. To me those looks more like a "parasite" we call "bosluis" or tick whereas a flea is so tiny you cant see it. The hand combing removing those made for a good video. I wonder how many different types of tics and fleas comes on dogs in the US compared to Africa. Will one kind of shampoo repel all? Thanks

    • @APEADogGrooming
      @APEADogGrooming  3 года назад +2

      Thank you for watching and supporting my channel! i am not in the US, but these are fleas... they are big because they are so fat from biting the dog for over a year! can you imagine that! i've never groomed a dog with ticks! they are far more dangerous to work with because they can transmit diseases onto humans!. As for shampoo i use Asuntol soap by the Company BAYER. it eliminates fleas, ticks and lice! i have found it works well but you must make a thick lather and leave it on for at least 15 minutes. happy new years and happy grooming!

    Check out the Rover's Makeover channel. The way she does get videos with a go pro as she's grooming and then takes all the footage and edits it is great. That way you don't have to do voice overs. MaryBeth, the groomer on that channel, is also a great groomer. I think people like to see all kinds of videos! At least one or two videos a week would be awesome.

    Does the flea drops that are put on the back of the neck work to keep away fleas? Or flea collars?

    • @APEADogGrooming
      @APEADogGrooming  3 года назад +1

      yes! its Frontline spray, it comes in a smaller spray bottle and this big one. its a very effective anti flea... i use it on my own dogs when i find a fleas. happy grooming

  • @happydays59
    @happydays59 3 года назад +1

    I can't imagine how hard it would be to remove them on a black dog. Mines black and fortunately we've never had fleas. My vet said he's never seen a case of fleas in my area so that's a good thing 🙂

    • @APEADogGrooming
      @APEADogGrooming  3 года назад +2

      yes i know! it would be nearly impossible! although i'm pretty sure i need to find another way to take them off in case i get a client!

    I think the owner needs to treat her home, and get the dogs on some kind of flea prevention. And I’m not even being mean. She’s never going to get this under control unless she does some serious treatment and prevention.

  • @mollyaugustine9306

    I understand she doesn’t want hate for the owners, but my dogs are like my children. If a child went to a doctors and the doctor saw the child hadn’t been bathed in months he would suggest a shower and move on. I think the same should apply to dog owners. I know nothing will be done/ no punishment will be given because of our laws, but I don’t think turning a blind eye and just doing your job is the solutions. It reinforces that this treatment of animals is okay as long as you bring them in one a year to get cleaned up again...

    Shame on the dog owners. If you can’t take of the dog, you don’t deserve to have a dog.
