I like both but I agree that it should have been humanity. Such a cooler concept in my opinion. Replay Halo 1 purposely while disregarding new lore and think about humanity being forerunner. Its so fucking sick and makes sm sense
@@IvanicohGto be honest Halo 3 made the biggest mistake of 343 saying “you are forerunner” The halo games should’ve just left the forerunners alone and kept them mysterious.
Thank you! I think his faction would have held onto power for the covenant. And eventually defeat the arbiter. Humanity would have been helping in the background incite war but in100% believe he would’ve become the next big bad.

That would be intresting to watch. Perhaps they would help humanity take out truth and the covenant remnants on the ark but then do their own thing from there, i think i remember them thinking about what to do with humanity before they blew up but im not 100% sure, havent read ghosts of onyx in a long while

Too bad you didn’t include the First Interplanetary War. That conflict was VERY important because it shaped how the UNSC would be organized going forwards. It was a 3 way conflict between neo-fascists/communists and the UN who were ideologically in the middle of those two. That’s where ODSTs originated with them being paratroopers who were deployed behind enemy lines. It included the Rainforest Wars, and other notable events. Unfortunately, despite the fact it was so important to how the Halo universe would develop we know barely anything about it, and a good chunk of the fanbase haven’t heard of it.
Yeah, now that you mention it I can understand your reasoning. Maybe it would’ve derailed the video, maybe not. Either way it was a very impactful event that sadly most people don’t know about and feels pretty distant from the rest of the series. For a while I’ve wanted a CoD or a Battlefield style series game set during the First Interplanetary War. Either of those styles of gameplay would lend themselves well to a human conflict. If you compare Infinite Warfare and the First Interplanetary War the two are VERY similar (you have a group of humans who aren’t pleased with earth rebelling accept for Infinite Warfare it’s a two way war instead of three. Some of the planets and series of events would need to be changed to line up. And a lot of the ships actually look like Halo ships/vehicles). If they took that formula I think you’d have something really good. The Battlefield style of gameplay would also work really well for the large battles and Interestingly would actually fit right in with Bungie’s plan for Global Battles that were prototyped for Reach before they were scrapped, and same goes for 343 testing them out in some development builds of 4/5 (ruclips.net/video/HfW-S6BKqIs/видео.html ruclips.net/video/jg6qK2_wqTw/видео.html). Same goes for some games set in the Insurrection Era/War. Having multiple campaigns/games would be able to show both sides of the conflict and really hammer home that there were no true “good guys” or “bad guys”. In fact both sides were guilty of some truly nasty war crimes throughout the conflict (think having a level similar to No Russian). It would also be a great opportunity to show the difference between the UNSC and Rebel’s points of view. One thing I’d like to see would be for some Covenant operatives to trade technology that contains tracking divorces and bombs with the Rebels as a way to destabilize parts of human space and reveal more population centers (from what I hear this happened in the Cole Protocol so there’s a precedent). There’s a lot of cool stuff that could be done with both wars. Too bad this most likely won’t happen, but maybe that’s a good thing because EA, 343, and Activision are currently dumpster fires.
