Mike - If you consider under $30,000 as holding their value. The market never took to the Green Label because so many buyers wanted the 6.75 back, which is why the Red Label came about.
I really like these BMW powered Arnage's. It would prefer one over the bigger old heavy engine. I think a very good example is a car to keep. It's much more useable than my lovely T1.
For me rear end of this car just needed to be a bit taller and squarer, though it’s the intended look it’s only thing I don’t like, the front facing presence of these cars is perfect.
The T2 was a better package - it is a pity that the newer cars have less headroom and space despite dynamic improvements. I would have loved a more dynamic T2.
This is one of the best designed Bently/RR bodies since the Shadow. I love the 4.5L engine which was well balanced with the overall weight of the car and the transmission. In other words it's performance was adequate. The interior was as good as it gets. It was luxurious and very practical before many of the moden fashionable so called luxury cars became vessels of gadgets. It seems that the true unique luxury car of today has been hijacked with over engineering and speed. It's all sports this and that with dummy vents, and is dominated by the SUV look. It's no longer about good practical unique lasting cars. It's more about big fashion names and impressions. And thus everything today has become common, because fashion has become common as most marketing is now aimed at the masses.

VW era Bentley sells a LOT better than it used to...don`t forget Bentley was at the edge of bunkruptcy..for a reason. And there is no need to say about the quality...which is a german thing..and has never been a traditional english value, for cars at least.
Unfortunately RR didn't have the money for new engines..eletronics etc etc. .whereas BMW had a v12 they couldn't sell in any of their models...VW had a w12 they couldn't sell in any of their models....nobody will pay 150k for a V12 Ben or w12 VW...but they will pay 350k plus for the same engine in a RR or Bentley ...
When it comes to engines, all we care about is that they are sufficient to move the car, and that they are reliable and durable. I don't give a flying FUCK about how quickly they will reach 60, or whether they're handmade. Whatever makes them the most reliable, and the LEAST TROUBLE, is what I want. Oh.... and I don't particularly want to HEAR the damn thing.
I would love to own a car like this in a couple years when the 2000s are a good 15+ years old and I can get one for under 35K hopefully. Hilarious though, the british guy saying you need to sit down before hearing about fuel consumption is hilarious. I drive a Chevy Tahoe with 250K miles plus that gets about 13Mpg on the highway to work 30 freeway miles away. Using like 6 gallons a day. Damn I could call a Bentley my gas saver.
Yes, I know people who originally bought the car would not care, but this is irrelevant to the point. The point is, the original commenter thought this car does good fuel economy because his fuel is so cheap. I pointed out this is not the USA and fuel is not cheap.
Hand Built, a euphemism for poor quality, unreliability and big repair bills, which is what you get with Bentley's and Rolls from that era, until VW stepped in, and now you pay a lot more, as did my aunt, who forked out nearly $20,000 in repairs in one year with her VW Continental GT! She swapped it for a Rangey. Oh well, out of the frying pan ...

This is not America. Fuel is not cheap. It's probably double the price it was when this video was released. 12 UK mpg = 10 US mpg.
