@@DanTE_1203 I honestly wasn't considering the Fate/Extra version and only going off of FGO which only had Ishtar Archer, Rider, Eresh and Astarte or Space Ishtar. If i recal Extra Rin is a decendent of the Original Rin though i might be wrong.

Fun Fact, many works of Kinoko Nasu, writer of Fate, were actually rejected by several publishers because they said that although the works of Nasu were good, they were too complicated to follow. To which he and his friend decided to create Type Moon.

That is literally the least complicated starting point for the Fate series
and it's only 100 hours if you rad very slow. I finished it all in 55 hours

@@usernamesarestupid7104 The original VN is unreleased outside Japan and was never translated. The best way to read it is with the Realta Nua Ultimate which comes with many patches including HD images, English translation, ops and more music.
You can do the patches yourself or you can join the Fate/Type-Moon discord where someone uploaded a version with all the patches preinstalled so you just download and run it.
You can find a link to the discord on the Fate/stay Night subreddit(on reddit). I'd share the link but comments with links can get marked as spam instantly

True. The second you understand that It's just a named class use to conceal their true identity to their enemies during the Holy Grail wars, It becomes logical .Alternate timelines are confusing, but once you know about them It gets easier to follow.
True, 3yrs ago I just realized i can actually read and to be able to differentiate F/SN to other Fate titles. Niggas really like to overcomplicate crap in Fate series, not to count the whole Nasuverse. Fate/Zero still being regarded as prequel to F/SN lmao. Due to F/Z's inconsistencies to the main route (F/SN), I still don't count Zero as prequel to F/SN series. Zero as "alternate prequel" to F/SN sounds more fitting to me.

Spin offs are written by different authors - Some authors have interest in writing a story in the fate Universe and the IP owner just goes "go ahead but follow lore". So they unltimately don't matter but add some pieces of world building like more to the magic system and character lore
There's actually 4 "proper" incarnations of Saber(Artoria) sword wielder, corrupted sword wielder, lance and corrupted lance.
Saber class vs the character - Artoria is widely known as THE saber since FSN is still the most popular hence people calling her Saber when that is just the name of the class she is in

For real, they are just exaggerating. it's not really that complicated if you have watched zero and ubw the rest will just follow through. On the other hand, read the VN and finish the entire different routes, and you are fucking done. The spin offs are just there and start whichever you want to start, it's that simple.

Tbf, Monogatari is so small compared to Fate so it’s much easier to follow and understand for newcomers to the series. Fate is huge with tons of lore and understanding how the universe works. And when you discover is just one of the series of Nasuverse, it just makes it even more larger. Monogatari just doesn’t even come close to how big Fate, much less Nasuverse is

Here’s what I know as far as I’m concerned.
Takashi Takeuchi, lead character designer over at TYPE-MOON and all Fate works is in love with Saber’s design. It’s almost kinda scary. Thus, he always calls for more versions, and he has all the sway in the company to make it happen.
Doesn’t help that her VA, Ayako Kawasumi is always open to voice more versions since she’s in the same boat lmao
Ayako Kawasumi is a confirmed Saber fangirl who has said on multiple occasions that she wants more Sabers to voice and collect.

So true. Once in a conversation my friend told me she really liked Saber and I accidentally asked her which one. After 10 minutes of her trying to specify which blonde hair sword wilding wifu she liked and a small eternity for me to understand who she was talking about, we both promised each other to never talk about fate. Which was broken seven minutes later when she showed me the picture of Saber-Alter and told me that was the one she liked.

Wasn't this covered in the base story. All heroic spirits are classified into 7 categories based on their proficiency. They use class names instead of their real ones is to avoid getting their weakness known.

It is actually simple, saber always refers to the class "saber" and every character who belongs to this class has their own name and the reason they're called saber, berserker etc.. is because revealing their true name gives away their powers

Same with every girl Saber that isn't a Saberface, and hell, even some of the Saberfaces look different. Mordred has a totally different design from Artoria, and Nero is drawn in a vastly different artstyle. They really don't look the same at all.

My first non free 10 roll got me Gil too (the story roll got me Emiya Archer and Cu Doggo). But I use Okita (she’s about to become my 4th 10 bond after Ushi, Cu Doggo, and Emiya Archer) and Jack a lot more. Need to finish Ascending my Tama Lancer, CasKo, Iskander, Mama Raikou, Nero Caster, MHXA, and Eresh as well. Just got Skadi too. This event did let me Final Ascend Melt, which was nice.

Saber is a class for sword bearing heroic spirits. When people mention saber the character they mostly mean Artoria/King Arthur.
Nah. Sabers are classes that shoot beam. If they don't have beams they cheated and used connections to get in.

There are currently 280 Servants in FGO, but only 27 of them has 'Saberface' trait, that means that 1/10 Servants in FGO is a Saber clone.
Its interesting to note that from the 27 Saberfaces, 11 of them isn't Artoria. So technically speaking, there are only 16 Artoria clone in FGO and 1 isn't playable.

Just to talk about Sabers here:
Saber the character expands past the Saber class. This includes regular/blue Saber and her as an Archer-class Servant. Her Alter form has a Saber class and two Rider classes (as Santa Alter and Maid Alter). Saber Lily is the younger still-in-training-to-become-king form. Then there is the alternate timelines of herself as Lancer Saber Alter, who is a Lancer-class Servant, and a 5-star Lancer Saber, who has a Ruler form. Then there is Mysterious Heroine X (MHX), who is an assassin from an alternate dimension that has too many Saberfaces. There is MHX Alter, who is Darth Maul who loves to eat Japanese sweets. Then there is MHXX, who is a Foreigner-class Servant. And I THINK that includes all the Sabers except for Gray, who is not "Saber", but wields Rhongominiad, and has a different VA from all the Ayako Kawasumi-voiced Sabers.
Now with this comes what we call Saberfaces. You can already guess, but all of the aforementioned Sabers are Saberfaces because they look like Saber. However, this list expands to include the following Servants: Nero Claudius and all of her forms, Jeanne d'Arc and all of her forms, Okita Souji and all of her forms, and Mordred and all of her forms.
Then the list of Saber class Servants itself is quite long, thanks to the ever-expanding Type Moon-verse, combined with Fate Grand Order being a part of it and dumping new Servants into the lore and game with frequency.
I mean if we would just call the Sabers by their name, Altoria then it really makes everything less complicated when it comes to Sabers and the Saber class. But fate fans are trolls lol
