I guess it has something to do with the ruined atmosphere of Terra at the time. The creation and passage of clouds would have been near impossible at such levels of heat, which is why few,if any of the inhabitants, seem to be completely normal humans. Most are either mutants, cyborgs or both. The rest are mostly dead.
What would the eldar do if they needed water? Webway gate secreted onto a planet with abundant water (like terra of old) dropped to the bottom of the ocean and opened, and khaine presto, one drained planet. Plenty of other "gate" like structures or pysker powers in 40k lore too. It would totally be possible to steal a planets oceans without the need of ships to physically drain a planet.
A lot of water was probably tied up in industry, aging or otherwise. While that doesn’t explain where it all went in the past, the lack of natural water on modern Terra can easily be explained by it still being there, just in other places. Fire suppression systems, industrial cooling lines, nuclear power plants, and of course drinking water for an ecumenopolis.
Yes, they all died fighting the Emperors enemies. All of them died in heroic sacrifice. All of them are heroes. Not a single one died in any other way. Nope.

I rarely make comments, but I have to say. I’ve been listening to your Warhammer 40k analysis since your beginnings. Your vernacular, your way of telling stories I guess is the best way I can explain. I don’t have to tell you. Your success on this channel speaks for its self. But I found myself listening to your earlier works, even though I’ve literally heard them dozens and dozens of times. But I never get tired of it. Usually I look for your breakdowns when I’m coming home from work. 1 to 2 hours of hearing my favorite fantasy pastimes, that I have time for. Until I come home to my family. Your style of narration, the soothing tone of your voice, the way you draw me into this concept of listening to a "simple chronicler" of the Imperium is true magic. Currently my favorite source of lore for a stunning universe.
I came across your works through recommendations from listening to 40k Theories and Luetin09 and this was the first of the many I have now listened to. At first, I assumed that you was reading from a book, brought to life in such excellent prose and mannerism that I was stunned and excited to discover that these are your own scripts. You are Canon within the 40k universe and I am honoured to know of your Work and to learn from it.

I'll tell you a particularly fine aspect of your writing that I haven't seen brought up before: your introductions. A solid intro that both contextualises and establishes a primary theme is a dying art. It's clear you labour over them, and I'm confident I can speak for the community in saying that we appreciate your efforts.
It pains me that you don’t have 10x the number of subscribers. Delightful, verbose quality every time. When, inevitably, 40K makes its way into the wider mainstream (e.g. Netflix, movies, public consciousness, etc), I hope your ken will be in high demand by producers and writers.

The unification wars, and the most notable campaigns of the great crusade era by the legions are some of the most detailed and intriguing stories that i wish we could see more of in stories of their own or on the table top. thunder warriors against techno-barbarians, mutants, warwitches and the like would make for such a rich setting, focused in an aesthetic like that of John Blanche and a hint of necromunda tossed in there, then there's the World-Eaters campaign of Sarum, the Death Guard's relentless eradication of Galaspar, The pacification of Luna by the 16th...sigh i'd love to see that brought to life.

In the wise words of the great and noble Rogal Dorn; "Boiling water does not remove it from the planet".
Iorclins Eveirnis I imagine a good portion of terras water was harvested for early terraforming and colonization efforts
It's stolen by Ra Endymion's mother, it's in the opening of The Master of Mankind

RIP all the Thunder Warriors who fought and died in the name of Unity.
Yes, they all died fighting the Emperors enemies. All of them died in heroic sacrifice. All of them are heroes. Not a single one died in any other way. Nope.
Temporary Fakename Apparently in the lore, there are still a few left alive... which don’t seem to hold any resentment? I’m unsure of the validity of it though

One of the most interesting elements of the timeline for me personally, full of condensed human extreme condition and infighting, with all possible extremities included. And so beautifully put together. Fantastic gift for 30k, historitor. May you rest with the feeling of work well done, to later return to further remembrances. Thank you.
P.S. I desperately want a Mount&Blade style RPG in exactly this setting. Anyone with me?
This video is insane. Amazing of course, but still insane. Rarely do I go back for a second listening to the entirety of a full 80 minutes video.
Absolutely fantastic work.
But your second Unification War segment, the long one which I love. I simply can’t stop listening to it. Anyway , Thank You. May your endeavors in this and all your pursuits continue to bear fruit.
this i am willing to state might be the most detail on this subject ever done i cant think of anywhere else all this has been put together

Stumbled across this channel while eager to learn about the burning of Prospero. My first thought was “OCCAM IS THAT YOU?” Very pleasant surprise to hear your familiar voice. The entire crew working with Bruva Alfabusa is a massive inspiration to me and now that I’m on the slippery slope towards getting deeper into warhammer (I just painted my first minis) I will be watching as many of these lore videos as I can fit in my lumpy cranium. Bless you sir.

I don't know if you will see this comment given the date of the vid, but I just felt a need to tell you I find your work amazing. Your style of narration, the soothing tone of your voice, the way you draw me into this concept of listening to a "simple chronicler" of the Imperium is true magic. Currently my favorite source of lore for a stunning universe.
Absolute quality content. Incredible storytelling.
I came across your works through recommendations from listening to 40k Theories and Luetin09 and this was the first of the many I have now listened to. At first, I assumed that you was reading from a book, brought to life in such excellent prose and mannerism that I was stunned and excited to discover that these are your own scripts. From this and the now many others that I have listened to and learned from, you are simply the Voice of these future dark times, the Orator of times past and of what is to come. You are Canon within the 40k universe and I am honoured to know of your Work and to learn from it.
Jesus the roleplaying goes so hard I love it my guy!!
I did not know there was even half the amount of info on this era that you scrounged up. The maps are amazing finds! Top notch content man, thank you very much
Just found your channel. Long time 40k fan (since the early 90s) and this is the first time I’ve found any information about pre-Emperor Terra, save the old Dark Future novels. Sincere thanks and genuine appreciation for the work you must have put in to produce these works. Ave Imperitor you most noble of scholars.

This is very impressive. I never thought I would see a mostly lore accurate map of Age of Strife era Earth.

How come this channel doesen't have more subs?! spread the word far and wide so this awesome content will reach as many as possible, praise be...the emperor protects.
I'll tell you a particularly fine aspect of your writing that I haven't seen brought up before: your introductions. A solid intro that both contextualises and establishes a primary theme is a dying art. It's clear you labour over them, and I'm confident I can speak for the community in saying that we appreciate your efforts.

Yes! I've been waiting for someone to make sense of these wars for me!
It pains me that you don’t have 10x the number of subscribers. Delightful, verbose quality every time. When, inevitably, 40K makes its way into the wider mainstream (e.g. Netflix, movies, public consciousness, etc), I hope your ken will be in high demand by producers and writers.
I have watched the whole thing for the fourth time while painting my imperial fists. In my opinion this is the best 40k related video out there. I hope you’ll be able to do more on the topic. I’d love to hear more about the techno-barbarian states, the half mad - half genius narthan doom or the thunder warriors. For now, thank you very much for letting my delve into this savage and distant world.
Simply brilliant. Equal to the research, preparation and delivery of a Sir Attenborough documentary. Utterly relaxing in presentation, eloquently stated and wonderfully informative. You provide a depth to the lore of this beloved franchise that is second to none. Well done, sir.

Your choice of words is remarkable and they really add amazing depth to the story you're telling and character your playing. You've done amazing work since, but I still keep coming back to these two as your pinnacles (so far!).

Probably listened to this in full 10-15 times over the last 4 years. Thanks for such an awesome video.
