WOW!!!! This is by far THE best reaction for this song in all of RUclips!
You didn’t make all the right noises in your comments to please the viewers, your total appreciation of this performance shone through and was genuine. What I’m most thrilled to hear is your recognition of the fabulous voice and drumming of Roger Taylor.
Most reactors just concentrate on Freddie, who is wonderful, but you give credit where credit is due, so I’ve now subscribed to your channel and look forward to many more Queen videos.
My suggestion for you to react to is “White Queen”, live at Hammersmith Odeon, 1975. It’s mesmerising! ❤🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

There was a little beer there too as was said for John, but Freddie would take a sip of it in the long break for Bohemian Rhapsody (live they never tried to fake it, the middle section was a studio creation so the band would go off while the recording played and the lights and effects did the rest, then they'd come back on for the last section), and near the end of the show when the open beer had gone a little flat. And if you watch some of the interviews with Freddie, he's drinking beer.
In recent years many have made him out to be this high class aloof type person who only drank champagne, and whilst he did enjoy the finer things in life, he always enjoyed some beer. Including a few sips onstage along with his honey tea.

What blows my mind every time I see it is that Roger Taylor is so good on the drums that he can sing along and play the drums perfectly without having to look at which drum he is hitting. He knows exactly where each drum is and hits it without missing a beat! Brian May is incredible on the guitar, and John Deacon rocks as the bass player! And of course no one can match Freddy vocally! They did everything without audio-tune, and they are the only band in history with each member of the band writing a number 1 hit song! Love Queen!!

This song as performed is actually gospel. Queen transcended genres. They could and often did do just about everything under the sun. Freddie even sang with Opera singers. Freddie is often called the best front man ever with one of, if not the best, vocal ranges but Queen is one of the best bands ever too. All four of them.

I was going to mention this song's gospel roots. @CoachcastTV -- although their live performances are generally the best, it's absolutely worthwhile to watch the official video of this song (whether you react to it or not) for the strong gospel sound. In the studio they could do some looping and layering of voices, and although it doesn't have the vocal pyrotechnics this live performance does, the gospel choir feeling is its own kind of awesome. Freddie was a big fan of Aretha Franklin, and this song is his tribute to her.

This popped up in my timeline for reasons only understood by the designers of RUclips algorithms, so I decided to rewatch it. While doing so, I was reminded of a story about this performance you might find interesting. It is a clear example of what a tight, finely-tuned performing group Queen was..
Today, most performers wear earbuds from which they receive cues and messages while performing but that wasn't the case in 1981. Queen had to rely on visual cues from each other and trust between them. But that was no problem since they had played together so often that they could read each just by looking at each other.
This incident occurred when Freddie got up from the piano the second time during "Somebody To Love". As Freddie glides to the center stage, he glances over towards left stage and sees Brian's back as he head upstage to the left back corner on the stage. Apparently, Brian had a problem he needed to take care of.
I don't what the problem was except I know it wasn't as just a broken guitar string. As all guitar players know, guitar strings do break and usually as the most imopportune moment. But Brian ( and John) were prepared since they always had a backup guitar tuned and ready to go. If Brian had a broken sting he would have simple switched to the backup which would take less than a minute to do and he didn't. (The backup for Brian's Red Special was not red but blond in color in 1981).
Freddie knew that he couldn't continue on with the song but would have to continue to entertain the audience until Brian could return to performing. After a few minutes of enteracting with the audience, Freddie looks over his left shoulder towards Brian for a couple of beats, When he turns back toward the audience, he immediately begins the chorus of the song, "Find me somebody to love, Find me somebody to love".
Brian is then seen walking up to his microphone perfectly timed to reach his microphone just in time to sing.

Thank you for reacting so enthusiastically to my second-favourite live Queen performance of all time. My absolute favourite being their twenty minute set for Live Aid at Wembley, in London in 1985. I have loved Queen since I saw the official video of Bohemian Rhapsody broadcast on the BBC pop music programme 'Top of the Pops' in 1975. (You really should check that out too. It's phenomenal). In case you didn't spot it, if you look back at the second time Freddie jumps up from the piano, he sees Brian May (lead guitar - now Sir Brian May PhD, the author and astrophysicist) heading to the back of the stage with a broken string, and so he extends his interaction with the crowd - and tells Roger (drums) and John (bass) to "keep it going", until he sees Brian returning.
Thank you for picking up on Roger's awesome ability to continue with the epic drumming, never missing a beat, while singing his heart out.
Oh, and the beer bottle is a product placement. The brown liquid in Freddie's cup is tea with lemon and honey to lubricate and soothe his throat through a concert that might last up to two hours. ♥
