I'm looking for a drone that can maneuver high up around a dead pine tree with a string attached to enable me to then use string to pull up a rope to use to pull /tug the dead tree in controlled manner. Any suggestions? There are some dead pine trees threatening to fall on my house - I cannot afford to hire company to remove them.
@@raybin6873 Hey Ray! As far as height goes, the mavic mini can would definitely be able to fly to the top of your pine trees. Just make sure that wind is minimal otherwise it may be a bit harder for the drone to hover. The DJI drones can detect extra payload and will automatically enable a payload mode which aims to assist flying with extra equipment attached eg, string. It’s definitely a possibility if you were using a lighter string/rope however anything heavier would definitely give you issues.
The Mavic Mini is what got me into flying drones! I got one just out of curiosity and the next thing I know, I'm already hooked with flying drones and all.
I have one and I agree with everything you say about it. The only thing you left out is that you need a FAST mini SD card, not one you pulled out of the scrap drawer.

Your footage and channel is great. You deserve way more subs!!! As for the Mavic Mini, I think going with a cheap 4K drone isn't worth it. This 2.7K footage looks way better than any of the budget 4K drones. And they're not 3 axis either.
Old comment but I agree all the cheap drones within the same price ranges seem the same. Hell even a decent used dji would be better the cheaper ones always seem to have connection issues too !

Excellent video and that little drone takes really great photos and video as you showed here. Perfect for people who travel a lot and want to get some quick, high quality aerial shots. In the next couple of weeks it looks like the Mini2 is about to come out, so I;ll wait and see what that has to offer.

Hey great! I just found your channel this day and have subbed already! I have a mavic pro quad that I’ve been using for a few years now and was looking at getting a mini so I can film in some of the areas here in Canada that don’t allow for the larger drones. Your episode was an excellent demonstration of what this little drone can do! Thanks! One tip though, so you don’t lose your mini, always keep those antennas at a 90 degree from the controller and pointed at the vehicle...losing contact with your aircraft is a come to Jesus moment.....not that I’ve experienced that...😉 can’t wait to see what you’re doing here on your channel.👍

Great video, very well made and informative. I have the Pro 2, Air 2 and Mini. Because of the Mini's size I fly this one more and therefore am considering the new Mini 2 when released. When the new rules become live in Jan, I can fly the Mini close to/over uninvolved people, opening up many areas to fly in. I do hope the new Mini comes with a Classification, but I suspect not. Awesome video!! How do you upscale 2.7K footage to ultra HD? Most of the content I make gets uploaded to RUclips, which is pretty unforgiving for someone with 0 subscribers and a lower quality camera. The footage looks great while editing, then gets very grainy once uploaded to RUclips, which I've read is due to my low subscriber count and RUclips not wanting to use their bandwidth on me.
Great footage. One problem is that there is a lot of stuttering because of the high shutter speed. There are some non DJI ND filters, but most of them cause motor overload error... Otherwise great drone!
Well, it's good up to about 25 km/h winds, but higher than that you need to switch to sport mode or it will drift away. I wouldn't fly it in winds higher than 30-35 km/h or gusts over 40 km/h, even in sport mode.

It's not officially supported but it is possible. There's some third party app for it but I forgot its name.
