One thing I learned from watching your family videos, there is a lot of good that comes from hard times. Even if the hard times seem overwhelming, there will be good times in the future. For me, it all started back after Harvey when I got to see a little goat, a pig and a donkey who survived and set the whole Morrow hill on a wonderful journey that has inspired and comforted a lot of people.

I sure remember my dad and brothers hauling hay in the hot summer. They would back up to the hay barn and even us girls (I was probably 8-9 y/o) would grab a hay hook and help them unload those square bales. They always kept one of those round coleman water jugs full of ice cold spring fed water. Fond memories pawpaw. Thank you for that.

Boy did this bringback memories. We did 2 stringbales like you talked about.one brother on the wagon (usually my mentally delayed brother) and one on each side of the wagon tossing to my brother on the wagon. Yourz truly was driving the tractor (first gear low range) so we didn't go to fast. I was only 5. My Dad wired blo ks on the clutch and brakes so i could reach. We were so sweaty annd dirty by the time we got done. My Dad always went before us with the baler. Family affair. Made hay whike the sun shined. Thanks for the memories. Enjoy your free hay!

PawPaw, I just love you so and watching you and Bri together reminds me of me and my grandfather. And your Steph was my cousins wife, and boy did he love to pick with her. ❤ I had the privilege to live nextdoor to my grandfather my whole life (minus 4 years I lived away during my early 20s) and was his only granddaughter, with 3 boys cousins from my aunt. Our bond was just so special and I did everything he did! Work in the shop, in the garden, building a shop or going with him while he did grading work for others. He picked me up almost every day I attended high school because he had just retired from teaching auto shop for 30+ years. Peas and carrots. ❤

Stephanie and Lester both shared their drone filming and it was a beautiful sight to watch y’all work in tandem. We also saw that you were having fun as you got this task accomplished. Stephanie and Bri learned a valuable lesson about the value of having a counterbalance on the tractor ….they both had a couple of really scary moments coming across that bouncy terrain. Good morning PawPaw! I love seeing the team work out in the field. Reminds me of my younger days growing up in Indiana and Illinois. In Indiana the local farmers would gather all of us kids up right before the sun would come up and send us out into the corn fields to go corn detasseling and when my brothers and I were at my grandparents in Illinois for the summer we would get up at the crack of dawn eat breakfast that my grandma would prepare and then off into the fields we went with grandpa to help him in the hay fields, soybean fields and the corn fields. Then we would come back home for lunch and off to the livestock - watering, feeding, mucking barns and of course playing in the hay lofts. We had so much fun and learned at a young age what hard work is all about. I still have scares all over me from detasseling that corn 🤣 They are worth all the memories I have of my childhood!

I remember Hay Day in Germany with square bails of Hay harvest, you had to be quick moving the bails once the bailing machine kept going dropping the bails down onto the trailer. Not everybody knows how to stack the Hay so you can stack it as high as possible... Hay fields were usually some distance from the farm,so the ride back home all the way on top was such fun ❤❤❤... Truth is Hay bails are so freaking heavy ,so anyone would ask me which I liked better to Hay or Straw...answer be Straw 😂😂😂 easier on the back ❤... Love you, PawPaw ❤❤❤
It does a heart good seeing you in that uptown tractor 😊. What a amazing cutting Lester got off the field. The last time i remember my poppa helping bring the hay, we was building a haystack and him and i being the lightest was rolling out the plastic and placing the bales to hold it down. Now to build a square stack it takes 498 bales and you pack them tight. Well there was a storm coming in and was racing against time. Poppa ended up having to toss me to my brother and he jumped off just as the storm hit. People think i'm afraid of high places i tell you i am not i just don't like hitting the ground it hurts. My city cousin's would come down and pile up hay in the barn floor then go up in the loft and jump but first they would toss me off to see it the pile was deep enough to keep from getting hurt any wonder why i fear the ground. I love it, Paw paw ... what a great family effort! Your haymaking brought back memories for me, too. As a teenager, on a hot summer's day, heaving those heavy hay bales up onto the hay truck. It took two of us kids to a bale! Oh, was it ever hot on the backside of Church Mountain! My poppy eventually got sheep to take care of that field...it was steep! Stay cool!
My grandmother, she was really my great grandmother, but she raised my mom when my real grandmother died giving childbirth to my uncle, and grandfather had a 57 acre farm up on the Miramichi river in new brunswick canada. My sister and I spent many wonderful summers up there. When my grandfather was gone and my grandmother got older, and all the animals were gone except a few barn cats and one old lazy spoiled cat that slept by the cook stove, she let out some of her land for a farmer down the way for hay. Looking at the farms you pass, you dream how nice it would be to have one, but boy is it hard work to have one. Thank you for taking us along with you today. I’ve watch almost everyone’s Hay-baling convoy. It’s neat listening to everyone’s thoughts and stories. Great family there. I liked hearing your stories about your past with the square hay bale days. That’s how my brothers started. I thought that was the only way hay was baled till I lived in the south. Anyway, again I loved how you were out there with your sons and grand daughters. It was beautiful.
Fork on the back sure looks safe. I know Bri and Steph had to maneuver carefully not having a rear counter balance. Lots of hard work done well when everyone pitches in. I love this so much!!! This is the way it used to be. Family all working together to get the work done. This is how we grew up. My boys spent their summers on the farm and worked their butts off yet those are their happiest memories with Grandpa and Grandma. ☺💞

I really liked everyone's willingness to work. You taught them well. I'm glad you have A/C on your tractor. It's so hot without it. You even taught your animals well.
Boy did this bringback memories. We did 2 stringbales like you talked about.one brother on the wagon (usually my mentally delayed brother) and one on each side of the wagon tossing to my brother on the wagon. Yourz truly was driving the tractor (first gear low range) so we didn't go to fast. I was only 5. My Dad wired blo ks on the clutch and brakes so i could reach. We were so sweaty annd dirty by the time we got done. My Dad always went before us with the baler. Family affair. Made hay whike the sun shined. Thanks for the memories. Enjoy your free hay!

I loved watching this video of a very hard working family all pulling together to bring in that bountiful harvest of hay with you at the helm in your air conditioned tractor ! One of my favorite videos of all time is the day Lester gifted that to you ! You were so surprised and humble accepting that amazing gift and love showing everyone that you stay cool and they sweat ! You all have plenty of hay for all of you now as Lester is more than happy to share. You must be so proud of this family that you and Gigi raised.

I had the privilege to live nextdoor to my grandfather my whole life (minus 4 years I lived away during my early 20s) and was his only granddaughter, with 3 boys cousins from my aunt. Our bond was just so special and I did everything he did! Work in the shop, in the garden, building a shop or going with him while he did grading work for others. He picked me up almost every day I attended high school because he had just retired from teaching auto shop for 30+ years. Peas and carrots. ❤

What a great day! It blessed my heart to see the family come together to get this huge farm task done! Stephanie and Lester both shared their drone filming and it was a beautiful sight to watch y’all work in tandem. We also saw that you were having fun as you got this task accomplished. Stephanie and Bri learned a valuable lesson about the value of having a counterbalance on the tractor ….they both had a couple of really scary moments coming across that bouncy terrain. What a blessed day❣️

It is such a Blessing to see a loving, grateful, God fearing family help each other, when all is needed to get a job done. PawPaw, thank you & GiGi ( and I am sure of generations before both of you ) to pass on work ethics, family togetherness, the love of our Savior, the love for the animals and the land. Good morning PawPaw! I love seeing the team work out in the field. Reminds me of my younger days growing up in Indiana and Illinois. In Indiana the local farmers would gather all of us kids up right before the sun would come up and send us out into the corn fields to go corn detasseling and when my brothers and I were at my grandparents in Illinois for the summer we would get up at the crack of dawn eat breakfast that my grandma would prepare and then off into the fields we went with grandpa to help him in the hay fields, soybean fields and the corn fields. Then we would come back home for lunch and off to the livestock - watering, feeding, mucking barns and of course playing in the hay lofts. We had so much fun and learned at a young age what hard work is all about. I still have scares all over me from detasseling that corn 🤣 They are worth all the memories I have of my childhood!
It was amazing! Both the bumper crop of hay as well as all the tractor work by everyone in the family. Everyone had a great time bringing in the hay! It was wonderful watching y'all work together! 💖💖💖

Hay day , fun day... PawPaw, you guys always pull together to get things done, which is so wonderful... I remember Hay Day in Germany with square bails of Hay harvest, you had to be quick moving the bails once the bailing machine kept going dropping the bails down onto the trailer. Not everybody knows how to stack the Hay so you can stack it as high as possible... Hay fields were usually some distance from the farm,so the ride back home all the way on top was such fun ❤❤❤... Truth is Hay bails are so freaking heavy ,so anyone would ask me which I liked better to Hay or Straw...answer be Straw 😂😂😂 easier on the back ❤...

It does a heart good seeing you in that uptown tractor 😊. What a amazing cutting Lester got off the field. The last time i remember my poppa helping bring the hay, we was building a haystack and him and i being the lightest was rolling out the plastic and placing the bales to hold it down. Now to build a square stack it takes 498 bales and you pack them tight. Well there was a storm coming in and was racing against time. Poppa ended up having to toss me to my brother and he jumped off just as the storm hit. People think i'm afraid of high places i tell you i am not i just don't like hitting the ground it hurts. My city cousin's would come down and pile up hay in the barn floor then go up in the loft and jump but first they would toss me off to see it the pile was deep enough to keep from getting hurt any wonder why i fear the ground. Kids now days just don't know the joys. 🤣 Have a good night and may your days be blessed stay safe Pawpaw and Gigi take care

Good Morning Paw Paw. I agree with you on the square bales. Helped family bale and stack hay one summer when I was younger and can say I never wanted to do it again. The invention of the round bales was fantastic. Am glad the harvest was so successful and the whole family will have hay for the winter. Have a blessed day

I love it, Paw paw ... what a great family effort! Your haymaking brought back memories for me, too. As a teenager, on a hot summer's day, heaving those heavy hay bales up onto the hay truck. It took two of us kids to a bale! Oh, was it ever hot on the backside of Church Mountain! My poppy eventually got sheep to take care of that field...it was steep! Stay cool!
My grandmother, she was really my great grandmother, but she raised my mom when my real grandmother died giving childbirth to my uncle, and grandfather had a 57 acre farm up on the Miramichi river in new brunswick canada. My sister and I spent many wonderful summers up there. When my grandfather was gone and my grandmother got older, and all the animals were gone except a few barn cats and one old lazy spoiled cat that slept by the cook stove, she let out some of her land for a farmer down the way for hay. Looking at the farms you pass, you dream how nice it would be to have one, but boy is it hard work to have one. Thank you for taking us along with you today. I love when you add little stories from your memories years ago❤

I’ve watch almost everyone’s Hay-baling convoy. It’s neat listening to everyone’s thoughts and stories. Great family there. I liked hearing your stories about your past with the square hay bale days. That’s how my brothers started. I thought that was the only way hay was baled till I lived in the south. Anyway, again I loved how you were out there with your sons and grand daughters. It was beautiful.
Fork on the back sure looks safe. I know Bri and Steph had to maneuver carefully not having a rear counter balance. Lots of hard work done well when everyone pitches in. PawPaw you have taught and raised some hardworking and responsible children/ grandchildren. Seems the flood did provide something good after all. Who would have thought 77 1/2 big rolls of hay!! I love this so much!!! This is the way it used to be. Family all working together to get the work done. This is how we grew up. My boys spent their summers on the farm and worked their butts off yet those are their happiest memories with Grandpa and Grandma. ☺💞
