I would say together with the two British divers Rick Stanton and John Volanthen (the two guys who found the lost Thai youth football team in the flooded cave and also made the furthest cave dive in history) and the sadly passed Australian Dave Shaw probably the most experienced cave rescue diver. That type of human is so rare. You have to be so calm in the most stressful, claustrophobic and dangerous situations... plus these dudes have so much experience, that even many NAVY Seals divers / military divers won't be able to do the stuff they're able to do. Rick Stanton and John Volanthen also build their own rebreathers that are much more capable compared to anything you can buy. Amazing type of people... could watch videos like that / listening to those guys for hours. I'm just a normal scuba diver, never dove a cave... but I still love watching this stuff.

After watching lots of cave diving videos, cave diving disaster videos, and cave diving rescue videos, I'm convinced Edd Sorenson is the only person in the world who is qualified to actually cave dive. Other experts say something can't be done or die in the process, Edd pulls it off.

This is the salt of the earth kind of guy here. He comes across to me as very ‘cut to the chase’ Dudes like this are cut from a different cloth. He completely launched a major logistical operation simply to get where he was needed, then risks his life to help this stranger to which the only thing they have in common is diving. Hope he has a cozy place in the afterlife. He deserves it

Truly an inspiration... I send people to scour YT for Edd all the time, so they can finally understand what it's like to listen to a man who has found his calling. I don't know if the terms "Loves what he does" would be the right way to put it, but Edd's truly a passionate storyteller BECAUSE this is what he's meant to do. I bet that's Merritts Mill pond behind him. Beautiful place, all around Marianna FL exists majestical springs. Really anywhere from there to the east and all the way down south to near Orlando is loaded with them. I go every year and find a new one to swim and explore. So much funner than the beach.
Quite frankly I’d be absolutely elated if I got myself into a situation like this and knew that Ed was the person who was coming to rescue me!! That’s all I’d be praying for would be to see Ed’s head break through the surface of the water honestly. Or if the worst case was to happen, I’d die knowing that one way or another Ed would find a way get me back to my family!!. I think Ed Sorensen is the only SOB on this planet that can blow his own trumpet as much as he likes. Nor does it ever get cringe worthy or embarrassing for him. He is the God of cave rescue diving. He’s saved so many lives. It’s actually unbelievable. He speaks you listen. If you’ve got lost diving, and you can get to an air pocket, you’ll wish you had Ed on standby. Nothing scares me more than just the mere thought of being lost cave diving. That sends chills down my spine. Each and every time. Claustrophobic and anxiety filled tension fills my body every time I listen to such stories. I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy. Knowing your going to die by drowning in mere minutes and having to count them down whilst not being able to move and panicking which you then know your air is dwindling even faster. Bloody hell no thanks. Not one bit interested in cave diving.
Edd is a such a remarkable man, a true hero. As a dumb tangent, can someone explain why these brits felt the need to replace a perfectly good line with their own goofy line just because they used it in their country? It just strikes me as odd, since they'd likely never dive there again, albeit that it was a mud-hole that no one would be excited to go back into, but it seems presumptuous frankly.
Personally as a cave diver, Ed Sorenson and many others are legends, but not many stand up to Ed. Please don’t think I am taking away from all the other legends out there. To few and unspoken. The unsung heroes
I think the reason he does not do this is because when somebody calls Edd it's because something horrendous has happened. If he told all of his stories I don't think anyone would want to learn how to cave dive. Maybe even existing cave divers would give up. He wants people to learn how to cave dive safely and responsibly not to run away screaming from the sport lol :)
Ed! You're the absolute best. Greatest true life story teller ever. Serious with a sense of humor. I lived in Ebro Fl in Washington County on my Dads farm abutting the Choctawhatchee River and swam in spring runs near there but never dove any. Gorgeous country to live and work in. Yes we all have a gift you have to find it and use it. Ed's gift is hes composed at all times. But Glory be to God! Not that often you get to hear the story from the hero themselves. Normally I can't stand a braggadocious person but this guy has a right to be proud. What a Storyteller he is! Made all that much better because the stories are real
Thanks for the video, it's been waiting for this, Edd IS great and GOAT! On the reel and in the spool we use 1.5mm or 2.0mm thick either regular or stronger version same thickness caves/mines/wrecks,dry gloves and thick underwear when the water temperature is 2-4 degrees celsius, about 35-39F
I comeback every now & then to listen to Edd tell his rescue stories…such a great storyteller & just a amazing human. If I needed rescuing, in water or not I want Edd to find me❤️

I wanna hear the flight attendant and fellow passengers side-interview play by play as well. I would dive as excruciatingly deep (no pun intended but lol) into his storytelling as humanly possible. He’s had so many high intensity conversations and i love the way he recounts them with starkness and humor.

Absolutely. I would say together with the two British divers Rick Stanton and John Volanthen (the two guys who found the lost Thai youth football team in the flooded cave and also made the furthest cave dive in history) and the sadly passed Australian Dave Shaw probably the most experienced cave rescue diver. That type of human is so rare. You have to be so calm in the most stressful, claustrophobic and dangerous situations... plus these dudes have so much experience, that even many NAVY Seals divers / military divers won't be able to do the stuff they're able to do. Rick Stanton and John Volanthen also build their own rebreathers that are much more capable compared to anything you can buy. Amazing type of people... could watch videos like that / listening to those guys for hours. I'm just a normal scuba diver, never dove a cave... but I still love watching this stuff.

After watching lots of cave diving videos, cave diving disaster videos, and cave diving rescue videos, I'm convinced Edd Sorenson is the only person in the world who is qualified to actually cave dive. Other experts say something can't be done or die in the process, Edd pulls it off.
I just found out about him today. I watched the Tennessee rescue he did, Absolute Legend, Got to be some Divine Intervention going on there or something. He is a Angel with a tank on his back.. Edd Sorenson is one of a few men with the mental and psychological stability and control to do what they do and make it happen. Panic is so deadly in so many scenarios, most famously involving water (see: waterboarding touture). Secondly, Edd can spend many years training people to do what he does without ever knowing if they have what it takes, mentally. Edd Sorenson is in the most literal sense both a hero and a legend.

Truly an inspiration... I send people to scour YT for Edd all the time, so they can finally understand what it's like to listen to a man who has found his calling. I don't know if the terms "Loves what he does" would be the right way to put it, but Edd's truly a passionate storyteller BECAUSE this is what he's meant to do. I'd listen to his stories over and over... hell... I HAVE listened to them over and over, and I will continue to listen to them over and over. Edd and his stories just never get too old!

Do you realize how popular a series where he tells the stories of each of his rescues would be? The stories of, I believe, 3 of his rescues can be found on RUclips, but he’s got how many under his belt now? I watch and re-watch what’s out there already just to see Edd tell the story.
I bet that's Merritts Mill pond behind him. Beautiful place, all around Marianna FL exists majestical springs. Really anywhere from there to the east and all the way down south to near Orlando is loaded with them. I go every year and find a new one to swim and explore. So much funner than the beach.

I think Ed Sorensen is the only SOB on this planet that can blow his own trumpet as much as he likes. Nor does it ever get cringe worthy or embarrassing for him. He is the God of cave rescue diving. He’s saved so many lives. It’s actually unbelievable. He speaks you listen. If you’ve got lost diving, and you can get to an air pocket, you’ll wish you had Ed on standby. Nothing scares me more than just the mere thought of being lost cave diving. That sends chills down my spine. Each and every time. Claustrophobic and anxiety filled tension fills my body every time I listen to such stories. I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy. Knowing your going to die by drowning in mere minutes and having to count them down whilst not being able to move and panicking which you then know your air is dwindling even faster. Bloody hell no thanks. Not one bit interested in cave diving.
Edd is a such a remarkable man, a true hero. As a dumb tangent, can someone explain why these brits felt the need to replace a perfectly good line with their own goofy line just because they used it in their country? It just strikes me as odd, since they'd likely never dive there again, albeit that it was a mud-hole that no one would be excited to go back into, but it seems presumptuous frankly.

I think the reason he does not do this is because when somebody calls Edd it's because something horrendous has happened. If he told all of his stories I don't think anyone would want to learn how to cave dive. Maybe even existing cave divers would give up.

Thanks Jonathan I've seen all your videos and have learned so much. My gift is to listen when being told no and why and treat my wife as I would want to be treated. Remember Ed's putting his family and life on the line for strangers please get the proper training and respect these caves and warning and please get cave certified it's not the same as open circuit diving in the ocean.

Thanks for the video, it's been waiting for this, Edd IS great and GOAT! On the reel and in the spool we use 1.5mm or 2.0mm thick either regular or stronger version same thickness caves/mines/wrecks,dry gloves and thick underwear when the water temperature is 2-4 degrees celsius, about 35-39F

I’m not a diver , I just happened to come across dive talk with woody and Gus and I’m hooked on these cave dive stories. So interesting! I heard about Edd on the dive talk channel and this man is amazing! I could listen to Edd for hours!
