Both pairs of your new glasses look really nice on you. But i'm like you, there's something about the smaller pair that really suits you well. The one's that Specsavers recommended to you are very nice but don't fir your face as well as the smaller ones. By the way I happen to be a retired optician if that matters to you. You didn't say how long you have had your new glasses but if this is your first astigmatism or if it changed slightly that could be why your glasses seem to be off a bit. I think your eyes could still be adjusting to the change in prescription. Also did i understand you to say that your glasses also contain some prisms as well? Have you had prisms in your previous glasses? Do you get any double vision if you take your glasses off? It's always nice to have more than one pair of glasses to switch to change your look a bit as well being able to match your outfits with glasses better. With a prescription in the -5..00's going without glasses isn't an option and if you have prisms contacts aren't an option either. Glasses are expensive so getting more than one pair can be costly. But you might be able ot order glasses on line and ave quite good bit as long as your prisms are 5 or less on each side. Zenni makes glasses with prisms and the additional for prisms is only $9.00. They have well over 800 pairs of women's glasses for under $13.00. The site is (zennioptical.com) By the way I forgot to mention how attractive you are both with and without your glasses.

      Thanks for your comment! :)
My astigmatism changed angle slightly in one eye, but when they were testing with A & B tests I couldn't tell which one I could see better with so thought it was a mistake. Indeed, a few weeks in my eyes have adjusted, but I still see a bit weird through the left eye sometimes. They are my first set with prisms, apparently my eyes are ever so slightly lazy (not noticeably though).
I do have contacts for special occasions (dailies) - would I be unable to wear them at all if I'm a prism user (ie - my eyes need to adjust), or are they simply not the best choice?
And thank you so much for the compliment :) I'll ask at the optician's what my prism values are because I don't think they said on the little prescription thingie they gave me (I just checked). BTW - I don't post as much on this channel as I used to as I started making science videos on ruclips.net/user/DrawCuriosity - the reason I bring this up is because I made a video on how octopuses can see colour despite being colourblind (which I thought you might enjoy as you're an optician! :) ) - and funnily enough I'm working on two videos to do with human vision and why our eye anatomy is the way it is.
Thanks again for the detailed comment - they are always a joy to read! :D

Nearly everyone has the same problem as you with the "which is better A or B" so if you couldn't tell during your exam your not going to choose the wrong one and your glasses should be fine. Adjusting to prisms in your glasses is a bit different than the normal just needing an increase in your glasses. You were prescribed prisms because apparently your eye aren't converging properly. In other words when you viewing something you're seeing it with both eyes. Your eyes converge or focus together in order for you to see what you're looking at properly. So if your left eyes is looking slightly off to the left and your right eye is looking slightly off to the right you have to force your eyes to pull together to see the object your trying to focus on. You may not even realize your doing that. Of course the more you're doing that the more you're straining your eyes to hold focus. If you haven't already you probably will start to notice that when you take your glasses off you're going to start having double vision. This will likely occure when your eyes are tired. They generally start you out with a small amount of prism so your eyes can adjust to it and I think in about 6 months or less you will start to find that even with your glasses on when you're tired you're going to see double. This is very normal and you just need to go and get another eye exam and the change in prism added. You can still wear your contacts for now but it shouldn't be long before they really won't work since they won't have the prisms in them. They don't make contacts with prism correction. Wearing them isn't doing any harm to your eyes so you don't need to be concerned about that. You seem to wear your glasses as your main form of vision correction so the only difference is that you won't be able to go out and be without glasses anymore. But you honestly look very attractive wearing glasses anyway. So instead of buying contacts just get another pair of glasses instead. But for now I think you should hold off in getting anymore glasses until they get you fitted with the right amount of prism correction. Again any question feel free to ask.
