I just saw Xiaomi Global on Lazada selling a global version of the Doorbell 3. However, it's not yet in Mi Stores Philippines.

Bought this one because the older version ruclips.net/user/postUgkx0jZ_lGlDVJhDnmagEU8gn47cmfPNlLQ had was really choppy and would disconnect from the wifi ALOT, was not catching everything and every week j had to charge it. So far the picture quality on this one is exceptional. I also bought a solar panel with it so I will see how this all turns out.
Great presentation. I do have a question. When someone passes do the notifications make any sound?
Notifications on your phone may be set to sound off. On the doorbell, you can turn on the alarm to sound off every time it detects a person.
Hi, thanks for the video. I just bought the newer version 3s and I am quite happy with it.
I have some issue with the motion recording. I have set a 30 seconds max duration but 99% of the times the videos are between 6 to 10 seconds.
Does yours also do the same?
The videos stops suddenly when there are still people in the view passing by, so it is impossible it is not detecting any motion anymore.
Could it be a disconnection issue? The wifi signal is only at 25%.
@@ChristianBrandoni The surveillance videos or detected events are generally 9-seconds only. But if you subscribe to Xiaomi's Cloud Storage, it will be longer.

@@HiTechTaBai Thanks, now I know it is normal behaviour at least. I don't even see the choice to subscribe to Xiaomi Cloud storage,I chose Singapore server because Italy was not supported, but judging from the network speed I think the Singapore is still using the Chinese servers, usually connection from Singapore is fast but mine is quite slow.
Yes I saw your preview video, that sparked my interest to buy it.
I must say I love the hardware and features and I am happy because I just needed a normal doorbell for a room I am renting at the floor level, and I use a Dahua intercom for my house. If I had to use that as my main doorbell, I think i would be disappointed, it's like night and day in terms of features.
What caught my intestest in the Xiaomi was the free video recording and awesome video quality with very wide viewing angle, in terms of video quality it is much better than my Dahua. But the notification are useless, most of the time they arrive 10 minutes later, while mine is almost real time.
hello, i've recently bought the same doorbell that you reviewed, yet following your instructions i'm stuck at connecting it with my phone. my phone cannot seem to find it in nearby devices, i've reset the device multiple times, i've tried changing my regions from Ph, China mainland, China macau and Chine Hong Kong, yet all of those does not seem to work.

Is there an SD card slot in it? If no, where do you store recorded events?
As mentioned in the video, there's no card slot. Recorded events are on cloud and clips from cloud can be downloaded to your phone/tablet via the app. Thanks. Please subscribe .

Nope. It only records detection events and the clip is very short. You need to subscribe cloud storage to upgrade.

Can usb be permanently connected to power main unit ?
Yes. It's like a cellphone. The battery of the doorbell has an auto-shut off feature once it's full.

I have problem after purchase 2nd hand from ebay its says "this device paired by other persons" how to cope with that since cannot find result everywhere i contacted seller also he have no idea
This doorbell can only be paired once to one Mi Home account so that it will be rendered useless if stolen. I will study on it if there's a workaround. I'll keep you posted if ever.
This maybe the only way-- return the unit to the first owner and have it DELETED from his/her Mi Home app so that the original pairing will be removed from the account on the cloud server.
Then afterwards, you can install it on your Mi Home account.

@@ajaquino16 Hindi ito security camera kaya walang local storage. Meron lang itong short clips sa kanyang ma-detect na surveillance video. And limited lang for the last 3 days ang detected videos. Kung gusto mo mahaba at matagal ma-store sa cloud ang video, mag-subscribe sa cloud service ng Xiaomi.
@@HiTechTaBai I ended up returning my Xiaomi doorbell and purchased a Eufy 1080p doorbell instead. Meron kasing included na Chime with micro SD card that saves footage from the doorbell motion sensor. No need for subscription. 😅

There's no need to apply force. Just use an ejection pin to unlock and run away the unit. 😅😂 See the demonstration in the video.
However, the doorbell can not be installed in another account as it is only registered to one account.

For some reason the videos are not saved in the clouds for me. Would you know why that is?
I'm also using the chinese version outside of china.. which is quite a hassle...
The doorbell only records a short clip of about 9-seconds and only 'events' are recorded on the cloud. Hence, you can't expect everything is recorded.
mine does not turn on when removed when charging? should I replace the battery?
I can't say but maybe. You have to let a technician check it.

Does the indoor chime need to be connected to a charger / power source 24*7?
You have to plug it in directly to an AC outlet. No need for an adaptor.
any recording lag between when the motion detector senses a person and starts recording and send notification to your phone?
There's always a delay between the actual happening and by the time it appears on the screen. More so the notification has a delay. However, the delay of the video is tolerable--about 2 seconds.

I set up all this.First hour wifi conection is 100%.The router is 2 meters away.After 1 hour the signal strength falls about 40% and then 27%.i have reset it 10 times and every time the same..!!! Please any ideas how solve that???
Mine is installed outside my house at about 10 meters from the router.
The signal strength is 74% and the RSSI is -44.
Before my signal strength is low when i connected it directly to the router.
I instead connect this unit to a dedicated Wifi repeater (Mi Wifi Repeater 2) and is now working better.
The way i see it, the device competes with other devices in your network. Try using Wifi 6 router.

If you owned a Chinese version of this doorbell like the one in this video, you can only view it on the Mi Home app that is connected to the Chinese server. Or you can use the Xiao Ai display that looks similar to the Xiaomi Smart Clock (Global).
If you have the global version of this doorbell, it can only be viewed on the Mi Home app.

@@richardjochmann5471 I think the sensors can always be spotted especially when you aimed a camera on it. I don't know if it can be hidden.

It is easy to check, just switch the light off and see if there is a red light on camera. It is that simple.

If your unit is the Global version, then you can connect it with the Singapore version.
If your unit is the Chinese version, you should set your Mi Home app to the Mainland Chinese server like what i did.

There's no other choices for sounds of indoor unit as shown in this video.
watch ur video and decided to buy. regretted it. i changed to china region and i can read chinese etc. the feed just wont work after few days, keep prompt me notification, but no video capture.
Sorry to hear that. I think you have experienced Chinese server issue. I've been experiencing that also from time to time. I hope Xiaomi improves its servers.

Yes. If you are sharing the device with other Mi Home app user.

@@MegaFranchiser Although, i haven't tried it but theoretically the other person whom you shared the device has also access to the door bell. Xiaomi only says "the app can be used by multiple people at the same time."

@@husseinhamdan86 It can be viewed on several devices using same account or via "Share Device" function on the app. As the main user, you can share the device to your family members using their Mi Account or WeChat account.
Can this be placed outdoor?

you should be able to connect it by connecting your xiaomi account to your google home.
This is a Chinese version. I haven't tried the global version.

Why do I have to join the provisional network Xiaomi provides me?
I think you are referring to the set up process. You need to connect to it temporarily for set up because you're registering the device to the Xiaomi server.

Honestly it's so frustrating those Xiaomi devices that are geolocated. Same brand and you can't use all your devices on the same account. Really silly branding and workflow, I got many products that I bought in China and now that I live abroad it's a freaking headache to deal with their products. And I can also mention their customer service that is zero. So lots of frustrations with Xiaomi products and don't expect any help or customer services overseas.
Avoid this brand as much as you can and use global and big known western, Koreans or Japanese brands instead.
Sus smart doorbell
I have problems with this doorbell 3, its not support wpa3 security and 5g wifi, after i put on wpa2 and 2.4ghz its for fine for days and after that i loose the connection with the camera and I need again reset and connect. Frustrating... for me work only realtime mode, with standard mode the camera stop working with mi home app. Region its Croatia, still waiting for update from xiaomi to resolve this problems
This really works only on 2.4G WiFi. So far my only problem is the connection lag since i am connected to Chinese server. Please subscribe. Thanks.
@@HiTechTaBai in Europe i cant put on China region, for me also now its not working the alarm triger for removing the doorbell. To be honest xiaomi make good product but they have a lot software problems 😅
I have the same problem in Croatia. It was working really great for 1 day and then it just disconnected from app and I can’t connect it anymore. I checked with T-com and they confirmed I have 2.4g wifi.
