  • Historian and Royal Broadcaster Rafe Heydel-Mankoo gives a brief summary of the historic concept of the Divine Right of Kings, whereby European monarchs claimed to derive their authority and legitimacy from God.
He also reveals how elements of the concept of Divine Right surprisingly continue today, through the British Coronation service as well as in the Royal Styles and titles of the British and certain European monarchies. Deo Gratias: By the Grace of God continues to feature on British coinage, too.
Additional contributions are made by Emma Webb, Fellow at the New Culture Forum, and Deacon Calvin Robinson, priest and GB News host.

We came across this Divine Right when we studied James 1 and His son.Charles. at school in the 1950s I was annoyed by the French views of Divine Right which made their kings tyrants ( in my schoolgirl view) Charles I lost his head and he brought it on himself.

First of all Charles in not my kind, I only have one king and he sits on the thrown above Earth. In the Bible it states that you should not worship anyone else but the lord Jesus Christ whom is God. What has Charles done for God apart from wanting to depopulate the Earth through any means. Maybe Charles God is Satan cause it does say in the Bible that the God of the Earth is Satan, all I’m saying is be careful who you worship!!! I worship the God above the Earth in heaven not the God of Earth.

Nonsense. King Charles is the monarch whether we like him or not. He inherited the throne. Read the history books in direct line. . We certainly don't worship the monarch in Britain and the Commonwealth . He is Head of State and Parliament reports to him. The Laws are made by Parliament but receive the Royal Assent.
and the legal system is his. Kings and queens of England have never been worshiped.from AngloSaxon times onward.. Perhaps you are not British. Many U S citizens know little about England and the Commonwealth of Nations

@@mavisemberson8737 of cause i’m British, I’m English and I was born in Watford. And yes people do worship the monarch that’s why people do bowl to them. You think that I don’t know anything about our monarch but I think I know more about them than you do. Didn’t you see a couple of years ago when thousands of people were banging on the gates of Buckingham Palace and shouting at the Queen to stop sacrificing and eating our children??? You obviously do not know what’s going on, because you only watch the main stream media, do your self a favour and turn off your fake TV and listen to the truth about the monarch on social media. That protest a couple of years ago was NOT on TV because they don’t want you to know the truth.
