I was so surprised to see my picture sitting at the lookout position over the bridge. My binoculars are next to me and I even remember wearing that Bulova Accutron watch that I bought on the Intrepid. Steve Raley,

I was aboard for two tours of Viet Nam 1967 and 1968, engine room and the Evaps. She was a old ship so took a lot to keep her ruining good. We did what we could.
My dad was a US Marine gunner….port side forward gunnery tub….seriously wounded by a kamikaze on 25 November 1944……very dangerous day.

It's was like being on a sub I used to go up every Sunday to the fan tail to look at the sun. Breakfast canned bacon dehydrated potatoes powdered eggs coffee or bug juice. Nobody ate the homemade bread too full of weavals sliced beef for dinner six days a week. And all the coffee you can drink.
