  • It’s officially off-season, which means no big races on the horizon, no strict training plan, and ample time to do some silly things (sorry for the lack of a video for the last few weeks-we’ve been busy). First stop: our first ever century bike ride. What better time to embark on a 6+ hr bike ride with 5k+ feet of elevation gain than after two weeks of easy movement? We aimed to make it as fun as possible, and focus on the calories consumed rather than the pain experienced. This is what to do, and what not to do.

    ABOUT US
We’re Jenna Haufler and Miguel Mattox-
With humble roots as college swimmers, we’ve worked hard to become two of the country’s leading age-group triathletes, and are now on a mission to become professional athletes while still having fun along the way. We swim-bike-run together, eat together, sleep together, and make videos together for our own (and hopefully your) enjoyment.
Throughout our documented journey, watch how a couple of ambitious 20-something-year-olds work towards their life goals in a disciplined yet untraditional, not-so-serious manner.
We live for adventure and hope to inspire our viewers and subscribers to seek out the same.

I’m so impressed that you CHOSE to include so many hills in your first century ride! You two don’t make it easy for yourselves. Bravo!

A lot of mistakes were made, Holly. Two people who have never ridden a century before should not have been in charge of the route....

This is the realistic content I've been looking for. I'm doing my first century this year and it also happens to be a granfondo so I'm very nervous I'm going to bonk.

Can’t even comprehend all of the food you are eating, how many times you are stopping and that you have never ridden 100 miles!

About to do my first 100 and have planned on doing most of the 4K feet in the first 30 miles. Your video helped me finalize that choice, so thanks! Loved the video btw…great to show real life.

I am trying to watch as many as these type videos for any tips. I'm doing a bunch of 100 mile rides in prep to a 200 mile ride. Unfortunately there aren't many folks doing 200 mile ride videos with tips. =( Any pointers and I'm glad to hear them.
You are in my territory. Climbing Mt Tam at the end sounds like a terrible idea. You should do your first 100 mile ride riding to Sacramento or going around Mt Diablo. Surprisingly going around Mt Diablo is not so hilly.

At 2:32 into the video, you opened a drawer with a honey stinger bag ( large pouch )….. 😮😮😮😮. May I ask where you got that ? Please
I love the waffles as well. Im trying the stroopwaffle “ campfire s’mores, then I have Boon “ sweet ginger “,,, and then honey stinger “ vanilla “…. Yum
    Loved the video….again 😉👍. Thanks

I find this a little ridiculous. 10k calories, really?
I’ve done 70 miles with 2 granola bars, 1 banana, 2 dates and a Gatorade.
    This feels a bit sensationalized.
