About the Tree at the beginning of the video: I heard this tree making cracking noises from a distance, so I walked up and set up my camera. The thing was about to go. I made sure there was no bird nests or any inhabitants of the tree before I gave it some gentle persuasion. If I had not given it a slight push it would have fallen over in the next few days maybe even hours, the base was completely rotten, and it was just a matter of time before it ended up on the ground. Just to clarify so it does not look as if I’m just going around destroying the forest, it was however super fun to watch it fall.
I just found your channel two or three nights ago, Xander. Last night watching you (I live alone.) gave me so much peace. I am 72, have never been an outdoorsman, and health issues make such a life probably unwise now. So, thank you so much for making this ol' man feel younger again. You bring back such great memories of the college students I had the honor of teaching for a number of year. Please contine to post. Again, thank you and many congrats on your staying sober. Life will only get better for you!!
I'm so glad you started talking more in your videos. Adding more of your personality really elevates the videos. Good work, I'm very much enjoying them!
Nature beckons us to go hiking and fills our thoughts at any time of the year! Once you realize that you can no longer stay at home. You literally rip off your jacket and backpack from the hanger and go into the woods. Where there are no people, where the smells of wet pine needles and smoke mix and silence reigns. The forest accepts us as we are. And we are his guests, not the hosts. I am grateful to you for your interesting video!
Learned a long time ago, that cedar pops out of the fire. Burned a good pair of socks learning that. Wonderful video. Be safe. And remember...you're never really alone. God bless.
I don't comment very often but I had to tell you your videos bring a smile to my face for so many reasons . The beauty. Of where you take us ,your food& the funny little things you do!!! Thank you sooooooo much & God bless you!!!!!! Stay well & safe the world needs more people like you !!!!!
These videos are excellent. The camerawork and color grading are breathtaking! The pefect balance between ASMR and commentary is pleasing and relaxing. You genuinely deserve a ton of subs. Awesome work, man!
Yeah, so I'm binge watching your videos and I'm laughing my ass off at your humor. It's like the best combination: food, outdoors, good camping and a funny & smart guy. Thank you so much for these videos!!
Just want to say i am delighted I have found this channel. This video has inspired me and gave me confidence to do my first solo camping trip, something which I have desired to do for so long.
Thanks for demonstrating all the tarp configurations, my tarp game is weak. This channel resonates with me. Playing around with the rocks in the river is something I always do, people can talk all the crap they want, it is just a good time. Really appreciate the concise filming style. I'm impressed that you can do so much storytelling in such a short amount of time. I have only seen a few of your videos so far, but will be watching more. I noticed on another video you asked about length of videos, I treat RUclips as my primary video entertainment. Anything from 5-90 minutes is totally reasonable especially with the interesting content you post. Keep up the great work.
You really took it to the next level with the drone. Been watching you for such a long time now and the quality of your videos are a lot better every single time and its amazing to watch from the side. You are going to get really far with this, i think;) Keep it up Xander. :D
It’s better that the tree falls safely rather than on a passing hiker or any creature. The fact it was fun Is a side issue. Love your videos, they are so chilled. Keep safe
Another awesome video! Watching how you set the tarp up was cool. I particularly like the use of the blaze orange plastic wire ties on the ground. I lost count of the ropes I've lost! The age old problem of sparks from a fire have ruined many jackets, tarps and sleeping bags. Oak logs help but most of the time pine is all thats available. Thanks for keeping it real! I always learn something new from each of your videos! looking forward to your next one! Rick From Virginia
Hey Rick! Thank you, Thank you! Aye those ties come in handy for both tying up gear and for the tarp. I try and get my hands on hardwood whenever possible but sometimes theres no option for it :p ohh well lesson learned.... again.... Cheers Have an awsome day!
I really enjoyed this video, watched it first thing this morning while enjoying my cup of coffee. Your joy is contagious and your content is inspiring. Stay safe and sober my friend, capture more beauty for the world to see, I’ll be watching. Thank you.
Absolutely amazing! Your videos brings back so many memories from when I was a scout here in Norway! Last summer I finally got to go on a couple of kanoe trips with my family, it was almost like being back in my scouting days! I'll definitely follow your videos! Thank you so much!
I too been watching for two to three weeks and I am really enjoying your videos. Thank you Xander, be safe and looking forward to more videos. Best regards from me.
I have anxiety issues and this kind of videos helps a lot to make me slow down and relax. Watching this makes me imagine that I am there also. Thank you.
Hello 👋 my outdoors friend, sincere thanks for the tag along. This was a fun outing. The best to you for your good health and safety. See 👀 you on your next video. 🤗
It's great how you bring fresh ingredients for meals, especially for 1-2 nighters. Nearly all other canoe/hike/camp youtubers bring maybe steak n bake for their first night (maybe), then freeze dried the rest of their meals.
Great way to start the day, cup of joe, and Xander on the TV! Genuinely believe you'll be among the biggest in this space within a year or two, looking forward to more🙌
I love how you make your trip / camping videos...the place, the beautiful Canadian wild .. the sound of the river, oh, so relaxing, as if im really ,literally camping with you. Keep up the good work.
When you're out there - what do you do to pass time? Don't get me wrong, I love nature and could sit for hours but are you reading, writing, meditating or just chillin? Love your channel! Can't wait to see you grow!!
So funny to see a grown man throwing rocks into the air just to watch and hear that simple satisfying plop. We all just kids at heart, sick channel man !!
Th photo you took of Max in the morning mist was epic. That is a Frame-able photo ! Redemption accomplished. The beauty of this spot is indescribable. Love your videos.
You have got a new subscriber from India! Amidst all the mad covid stuff going on, your videos are so much of a stress reliever man!! Keep them coming, Godspeed bro :-)
Wow you go camping alone in the Side of the River its so nice you never heard Strange Noise over there Xander Good Luck to the Next Camping 😇😇😇💙💖💝💗💕💓💞💙💙💙🇵🇭
I missed my family's new year's eve party, because I'd stayed in watching your videos till well after 4am, with no regrets. Happy New Year Mr Xander, May your 2022 be filled with peace, love & prosperity! ♥
Thanks for the content Xander. I have a young buddy who is in long rehab atm. I’m looking forward to watching some of your trecks with him soon. I think your number 2 advice will resonate. Keep it coming. And thanks for keeping it real. C
Love to watch your videos late at night, after a hard day of work because it chills me so much & it inspires me to get sober too and start going to check out the beautiful nature around me. Thanks dude

Thanks my man. No color grading tho just nature
That's the life! There's something mesmerising about a campfire, or even an open fire at home. I could sit and look at it forever. So calming...
The spot is perfect , river sound , trees , sunlight ... you got a gem . I’m sure you’ll be revisiting this spot in future as well

Two of best thing to watch on mytube, watching people hike and camping or garage sale dumpster treasure hunting
and the combination would be out of this world lol
Wow this video was absolutely beautiful. That short drone footage was the cherry on top.
A beautiful place to be - clean running river, plenty of dead wood laying about & lovely food. Cheers

I see what your saying
I love watching survival shows. When I watch you I get hungry.
Things us men like to do : throw rocks in water, simple and fun
Love this guy, its camping ASMR. The angles alone are worth the sub.
When you're out there - what do you do to pass time? Don't get me wrong, I love nature and could sit for hours but are you reading, writing, meditating or just chillin? Love your channel! Can't wait to see you grow!!
Filming takes up alot of time which I enjoy. But reading writing and mediation if I have free time or just staring at the fire
Your videos are by far the best.
So funny to see a grown man throwing rocks into the air just to watch and hear that simple satisfying plop. We all just kids at heart, sick channel man !!
Xander, I love your videos! Love how fast you collect and cut wood. Also like your meals ad how you cook them. Thanks much, Lou
