I'm a musician with production experience and I agree. I loved the playfulness of the organs, and little touches such as the violin being emphasized during the scene where the violinist dies.
Just finished the game in one 12 hour session, I couldn't stop playing! What a masterpiece. Will definitely be remembered as one of my favorite games forever

The 1-bit dithered graphics is a master stroke. The ghostly, bare art style is fitting for depicting faded memories. And it strips everything to its essence, so nothing gets in the way of what really matters. Just like in black-and-white movies, losing color actually serves an artistic purpose.
Lucas is an inspiration for the indie developer who is crazy enough to believe you can get exposure without 6 figure bank account. I salute you sir. Please consider Papers Please type of game again.
I'm playing this game with my non-gamer sister and my two 56 yo non gamer parents. I almost had to beat them up to make them sit down and give it a try together as a family. Last night they wouldn't unglue themselves from the screen hahaha if my mom can get hooked on this game, you can trust anyone can!

ThaSlymes For me that’s really ease to understand - this game gives the satisfaction of being a detective solving a very complicated crime mystery. It’s incredibly rewarding and definitely unlike anything else on the market. RDR2 on the other hand is incredibly polished but its narrative design is the same drive-cutscene-shoot (repeat and/or reshuffle) pattern that Rockstar has been milking at least since GTA4. Not to mention that its survival mechanics (and camp-management for that matter) are completely divorced from the story, while everything in Return of the Obra Dinn ties together to give a unique puzzle-solving experience.
