This is great video everyone about hip rotation. Everyone who said bad things about it doesn't know the difference between hip rotation and hip and shoulder separation. Its not titled hip and shoulder separation. Great video really help my son get more out of his drive.
Awesome video and thanks for posting. Is this something I can add a weighted barbell to? If like to strengthen this area, although I don't play baseball. Us girls have a lot of trouble with hips (at one end of the spectrum or the other).
the only thing flying open is your leg. you do not have hip to shoulder separation. your back foot should have rolled over and your belt facing the target.
But your hips never open? You front foot opens but your hips never make it to the open position. In order for your hips to open your back foot has to release and turn over. Like showing your belly button to the plate.
+aj stipanovich you want to have your hips rotate before your front foot lands so your front knee isn't moving when you land.. That's where all the power comes from
Not a good idea to have your arms locked across a bar. Just a good way to fall off balance. Just ask the Flying Wallendas: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Flying_Wallendas

Ross Johnson you do realize this is PART of the pitching process not the whole pitching process. This is really good advice.

But your hips aren't fully open though...
billy bob this drill is meant to help with the timing of the hip opening, which should just before your front foot lands
