that fuel pump noise would drive me insane
Total deal breaker
@@superchroma Indeed. Ruins the car.
It wouldn’t be a dealbreaker, because that car is such a dream, but there should be a quieter option available..
3 and a half minutes into the video and I got used to it. Hell, now I even find the sound of it pleasant.
I think I'd go insane driving it with the fuel pump always making that noise.
in this pov drive: mr. regular learns how to use a seatbelt!
For some reason the frase "We need the right most left, so we can achieve MAXIMUM LEFT" is the most RCR thing I've heard in a while.
Sorry for saying this but that fuel pump is really annoying. . . . . Even for a weekend warrior. The owner has got to do something about that.
There's nothing he can do other than remove it and go back to a mechanical fuel pump.
@@cefb8923 there has to be a quiter fuel Pump available, I’ve ridden cars with electronic aftermarket pumps and none where that extremely loud.
Other solution would be straight pipes, so you just don’t hear that annoying fuel pump anymore.
The fuel-pump... THAT FUCKING FUEL-PUMP >_<
Hearing this WIZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ the whole time, would drive me absolutely insane.
The fuel pump makes it very easy to tell when your alternator goes out, at least...
Can barely hear the V8 because of the fuel pump
ok i'm just going to say what we are all thinking, your V8 Falcon vs this Dodge drag race!!
the last dyno was 250hp. but that was when it was a new engine, now it has some miles on it. it might have free'd up some Hp, not to mention the Falcon is a heap lighter and has shorter gearing, i reckon it could at least scare the big Dodge!
Falcon will have trouble with traction with those skinny tires tho
The falcon would have no chance.
While the Falcon is awesome it likely wouldn't stand a chance. A stock 4 door 60 Falcon with the 6 cylinder weighs a tick under 2500 lbs his is probably somewhere around 2700-2800 now. A B-body Coronet with a big block weighs 3700 lbs, so yes the Falcon is significantly lighter. Now a 440 with what he has done to it probably makes somewhere between 450-475 Hp, so he's got about 200 Hp on the Falcon. It'd be an interesting race but my money is on the Mopar.
Xrocks, the 440 makes 375 GROSS HP. Chop off atleast 100hp if you want to get closer to the net rating that post 1972 cars are measured in.
You know,.....it is a shame that the wonderful and long speedometer was blocked by the tacky gauge.
Fuel pump...meh...sound mount it. Brakes...if you have to pump, they have air, no exceptions.
Bleed more.
A leaking piston seal in the master cylinder will do the same thing.
Ohh u snow flakes haven't ever drove a 4 drum no power assist system.
Sound mount?
Joe Bee mount it with rubber between it and the frame, including the fasteners. It will cut the noise a LOT.
@@scooter2kool173 oh u boomers have never felt the awesome power of a horse drawn carriage
C-pillar, Mr. Regular. Hardtops do not have a B-pillar.
I just love a real CORNET
the tachometer on the steering column and the flat speedometer reminds me of Flettari's Ferndale from My Summer Car
The Ferndale is basically a 1971 Dodge Coronet.
Ziggy Bowman never knew that. That's cool!
this car seems pretty awsome. I'd own this.
Why the fuel pump constantly make noise ?
Normally the Electric Pump should turn off after Engine Start, maybe Mechanical Pump or Switch is faulty. Or previous owner was an Idiot.
tdugamer The car was originally set up for drag racing, so it had a high-flow electric fuel pump. It's on the list of things to change.
tdugamer I have a frame mounted electric fuel pump on my car that runs continuously and it's not that loud mine you can't hear over the engine
And differences in sound deadening.
It just needs to be isolated with a rubber mount. Mine also used to sound like that when it dead headed into the fuel pressure regulator.
The fuel pump fluctuates with the indicators lmaoooo
Sweet car! I'm the same age as you, and my first car was a '65 Impala SS with a 2 speed powerglide. It always made a whining noise which reminds me of this car. It was scary going over 70mph with the power steering and waterbed stability of the suspension, plus my foot got tired holding the gas pedal down. My speedo never worked right either, and the one time I got pulled over, the officer liked my car so much he gave me a break.
"I drive a Doge Coronet 440 for the first time." wow - such mopar - so review - much driving - why steering - omg 440
What a cool owner :)
Just love this body style :)
Yay! You spelled it right!
I don't think I know of a single mopar IRL where all of the dash gauges work
NavyWolf175 i got a 69 power wagon and 78 ramcharger you can look at :-)
Ah, lap belts...how I've missed you. /s
We have a 4 door 440 coronet in our garage. Its been sitting there for a long time and I want to get it running again but i wouldn't even know where to begin
That fuel pump has to be fixed. Also, new weatherstripping may help with the wind noise.
Perfect timingi was just looking for a coronet drive.
McMuffinFluffin literally same
curren carlsen haha
Want something like this so bad but the UK is devoid of things like this and those that do exist are expensive and would be hardly subtle to drive round here.
rockinchimp lol wow.
Too bad, consider moving to a free country
Like you mentioned in the review, the car could really use a gear vendors Over/under drive unit
Have you reviewed a Ford Escape yet? I have one that is regular and ripe for reviewing.
Nice car
When you mentioned 422 and Pottstown I knew you were in my neck o the woods.
Yep! Love your 68 Charger... don't think I've seen it at any local shows.
@@waitingforepisode1927 it was off the road for a couple years. Got the engine fully rebuilt last summer. It's running like new again.
@@scatpack68 There is a Cars and Coffee at the old Chevy dealer on 113 every Saturday morning now; I'm taking my 71 Cuda there as soon as it's back from the shop. Be good to have a couple of Mopars there!
I love you Mr Regular
The fuel pump sound makes me think of a boat, lowering the prop or something.
I drove a friends 1990 Subaru loyal with 90hp and a 3 speed auto. It's not as bad as you would think. It just kinda sucks on the highway.
I dont know if you are taking suggestions but can you do a 1.8t mk4 golf or mk1 a3 /a mk6 fiesta st or r 50 mini cooper?
There's a video explaining how to do suggestions.
NIce vid
The reason why you need to pump the brake is because it's broken. Fix it up and it'll work just fine.
I had pumpy brakes on my ford and i replaced the O rings inside the master cylinder and no more pumpy brakes.. Brakes like brand new and stops on a dime.. The brakes were so sharp that they blew my 50 year old original brake slave cylinder in the rear drum.. Changed it with a SAAB brake slave cylinder and works like a charm. Also replaced the brake line because why not?
It needs to be bled more. He said the rear disc conversion was just done, and you can see in the under hood shot in the review the Master is new. Also do you have manual brakes? because they feel totally different.
I’ve driven 2 Coronets, and I can confirm, the one with the disc conversion had brakes that were beyond spooky. The one with drums wasn’t too bad actually in parking lots
Is it a Cornet or Coronet? The title name changed between the review and drive video.
Did anyone notice the fuel pump?
Those seatbelts remind me of the ones in my Datsun
i wonder why the fuel pump is so loud? Im really surprised it doesn't have a mechanical pump
The original ones had mechanical fuel pumps.
My 1968 had a 318.
aaaahhhh that fuel pump
Mr Regular is such a putz. That's why I watch.
My prelude is at like 4,200rpm on the highway
That is my moms old dodge....we live near 422..they changed the paint but the interior looks the same..if there is any way you can bring it over we live off 625
I live close to the area, but I assure you, it's not your moms old Dodge. My uncle bought it from someone in Florida (where is also lives), who used it as a drag car. When I bought it from him, he was in the process of restoring it to it's original glory (with some of the updates from when it was a drag car). It's now in the state that's shown in the video.
i was so hoping it was hers. you guys live close to us so i thought maybe it was
cool
these older cars are so cool and have so much character. i want one!
Lol it's okay, my Miata in 5th gear is over 3000 rpm at 60 ;)
And 5th is an overdrive! It's what we Miata owners get for having something like a 4.54:1 rear end
TheAngryCanuck race day bro!
Same goes for quite a few little Euro hatches. Quite a thrum as the 1.2 in a Clio holds a steady 4000rpm doing 80mph down the motorway.
70 is 2800 in my tC. I think my first gen CRV was about the same.
Mythiic First gen CRV with a 5 speed?
hey Mr Regular , i live in Oakdale Pa and my mother has a 2016 forester that would be perfect for a review she has all the typical "mom" stuff in it and she even has a beanie baby hanging off the rearview! you are welcome to review it or i also own a 96 bronco, 86 vette, 94 vette and an 04 envoy, a bunch of regular cars if you would like to review any of them!
ryan oyvey Check out his video about submitting a car for review. We'd love to see them get reviewed
How does he find people
They email him. He has a video explaining how it to do it. Although if you're not in Pennsylvania you'll have to wait for him to come to your area, if ever.
i hope he change that shitty fuel pump for his own sanity
I'm considering writing a research paper on the horsepower wars of the 60's and 70's but am having trouble finding material on the subject
awsome1235635 try seeing what automotive museums have to offer if the keep archives. Also look for magazines, hotrod magazine may be good, maybe petrolicious if the did an article about it
hp wars ended in' 73..... you could argue 1970 as big motors dropped h.p at an alarming rate from then on.
If you are near Toronto come drive my 2000 TDI New Beetle, and it's stick :))
Mr regular you need to drive this car again and make a proper kickdown merge. I'm almost 99 :% sure that:
A) there's a problem with the 727 kickdown linkage in that beautiful coronet. OR
B) You were thinking it would kickdown with 3/4 throttle, that'll never happens as 727 works like EVERYTHING OR NOTHING (that means it'll kickdown at 99% throttle)
is this a different car from the Cornet?
Dear Mr. Regular I hereby invite you to acompany me to the Nordschleife should you ever come to Germany. I´m a local :D
Owner, planning to put in a manual, or a few more gears in an auto?
Steve LaForce He mentioned an overdrive unit in the other video
Good to hear. Just seems like a shame with all that power and a terrible 3 speed. Any auto or manual would be a nice upgrade.
Agreed, it'd be much improved with a modern transmission. I can't imagine how much fuel it sucks down at highway speeds with such short gearing.
Would love to see you guys get your hands on those early 90's Geo Storms, very cool design.
This noise from electric pump is really annoying. I can stand squeaks, wind and other stuff but this noise is so bad.
review a 1966 Chevelle
That car needs overdrive or a 4 speed. 3 gears and a 440 is just dumping buckets of gas onto a fire.
10:07 left AND right turn indicators... SO FAAAAANCY
"a lot of traffic" lol
HAHA he should see the traffic here in Miami.
Its C pillar ;)
Sounds like driving big V8 fridge
The original mechanical fuel pump works quite well. So quite too..... hint.... hint.... hint
its not as loud as it used to be
is it weird that I smell it.....just from sound?
you should do a quick walk-around the car first so we can see what you're driving when doing these POV videos.
remingtonh That is what main reviews are for. POVs are kind of supplement material for this guy i guess.
So, Roman's name is Matt?
TheAnalXylophone he's talking about Matt Farah I think
Oh, right. He would beep Roman's name out anyway.
Review the Dodge Dart lmao
Can you review my 2013 F10 BMW 535i with a 6-speed manual?
That fuel pump ruins it
4 AM.... PST?
Leo 7 am east coast
No b pillar. It is a and c
2800 at 60 mpg is fine
3400 at 60 not so fine, by brothers 3at in his subaru loyale

That fucking pump is the worst.
Your description: prntscr.com/esy03i
Dodge Coronet......te official car of vodka on the rocks and GRABBING A BUNNYS ASS!
Jesus fix your dam fuel pump! How could you stand hearing that all the time? Would drive me insane.
I would put a mechanical pump back on it.
Where's the meam growl of a V8 engine? Just sounds like a beat up Prius
3 speed automatics are ridiculous
What about 2-speed or 1-speed ones?
mcspikesky spoken like a true 10 year old
He's right, ya know? Lol
Oh boy, you're going to have a right laugh when you find out that they put 2 speed automatics in quite a lot of cars up to the late 60's...
Trust me... when geared right, 3 speeds aint too bad.
My grandfather's 78 Ford Van has a 3 speed Manual, and even that Buick Century that Mr Regular was driving had a 3 speed automatic and that was from 89
Grumpy old men
Why would you buy a big block, vintage muscle car with an automatic?
dagonthewise iii crusing.
Honestly, that's a lot of what you're going to find because it's how a lot of them were spec'd from new.
Well, I can think of a reason...
We all know that every classic muscle car ever made has the Big Block, 4 Speed, Posi traction rear end with 4:11 gears and Bucket seats, and a Hood Scoop that has a flap in it that opens when you push the gas pedal. And every one of them is still available for sale by the Little Old Lady that only drove it to her hair appointment 2 times a month.
If you have any idea of the chance that this car is even still driving
today being that it's 50 years old and the chance that this car was
ordered with a 4 speed, you would not ask such ridiculous questions.
But, then again.....
Because a built automatic with a good torque/stall converter and a good shift kit is faster than a 4 speed.
dagonthewise iii except for mopars. They don't have junkass posi . They have suregrips. And yes there is a mechanical difference
this car needs to seem to need a ton of work. no kickdown, the thing was a dog trying to merge. either that or whoever built the motor sucked. and pump the brakes? wtf is that? they aren't manual.
and this is a coronet R/T not a 440 a coronet 440 is a base model
He didn't get on it on the merge, it will kick down (you can see he never passes 3k rpm on the tachometer) . The rear drum brakes were replaced with disc brakes literally the day before, so all the kinds weren't worked out of them yet, as stated in the video (ruclips.net/video/ILf-nBmUXdw/видео.html). They are not power assisted brakes either. Yes, he didn't put R/T in the title, he was just putting the size of the engine not realizing it was a trim level as well.
first
I like 10-15 year old cars, but this is just junk, no offence
how?
+Clutch Idiot
lol 10 to 15 year old cars looked like melted soap.
It's 3 to 5x as old as you prefer as well..
Consider which models your preferred car comanies were producing in the mid 1960s.
Lol line any of those 10-15 year old cars up against my 67 coronet 440 on a little nitrous and see who wins
