Dude, you are a life saver. Thank you for this video. I Spent nearly 2 hours trying to do a stupid routine brake change before googling how to do it on a new pathfinder / qx60 and came across this video.
Thanks. This worked on the 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander as well. Same setup as the Rogue.
Saved me about $250 for repair shop to do it with a computer.
thank you for your videos, I’ve been watching all your episodes on Pathfinder 5G, everything is clear, how and what to do according to the actions. respect to you. Let the dealers cry, with you we will do everything ourselves))
Glad you like them!
That’s awesome not very hard I appreciate your efforts it’s great how clear and complete you explain this stuff in simple terms us novices can understand ty
Your welcome
Was waiting from you this video, like how you explain! Thank you! 👍🏻
Thank you so much for this video. It really helped!
Glad it helped
Great video and very easy to understand.
I’m gonna go do my rear brakes on my 2020 Altima.
Thx
Glad you like it and it helps you don’t forget to like and subscribe
Thank you for the video
Very well explained
I didnt see the torque specs Friend
62ft lbs for the bracket to knuckle
@@PRviewsvlogs thank you Friend
Just suscribed
great video, i did mines last year 2022 pathfider at 30k mile, the front brake still have like 80% left vs rear 20% left, wonder why worn so fast
Do you have a video for front pads
Can you please post torque specs for caliper bolts? thanks.
Your red army setup is sweet .
Thank you
I am getting 10k and dealer wont warranty. Paid the first time. Not going to pay again. Got aftermarket and gonna see if that helps. Heavy duty pads and drilled and slotted rotors. Thanks for the info on the brake release.
Pads will be the same won’t last any longer
Thanks!
Thanks for the video. You did a great job and I’m pretty sure helped a lot of people.
My question is why did you use a probe and not another female terminal on the negative wire? Thanks.
Cause I wanted to be able to stop it quick
Can I use an 18V battery?
Wow great video brother! Would this apply to the 2024 Pathfinder as well?
Yes
Thanks for your video. Do we need to disconnect the car battery to do this procedure? Also, if I apply wrong polarity and when seeing the piston comes out, I switch the wires right away, is it OK, or it already damage the E brake motor?
No need to disconnect the battery , just follow the video
Can I use my 18 volt battery from my drill to depress the brake calipers or does it have to be 12?
I would use a 18v you may cause damage to the motor
Our e brake light is now red instead of amber after changing front and back pads and rotors. Any thoughts on this? 22 pathfinder as well
Something was don’t incorrectly. I’ve never seen that .
Nissan doesn't have a brake service mode to automatically retract the piston? Every vehicle I've worked on that had electric parking brakes integrated into the rear caliper had a procedure for retracting them.
Yes but only using consult
What does it mean if you get the lights after changing the rear brakes and the auto feature keeps coming on ?
You did something wrong , causing the system to go into fail safe has to be taken to the dealer for reset or repair . Something was probably damaged during the installation
Inquiring minds want to know if you are available to do brake change on a 23 Nissan Altima SR VC Turbo lol I’m in Northwest Indiana
This SUV according to Nissan was built for good off road use,its well advertised as such
Yes and they advertise cars as the best in the snow yet cars still get stuck and have traction issues , it advertising they have to make it sound and look good , also I never said it wasn’t a off road vehicle , but try putting this car thru a mud pit or cross a river like most actual off road cars do let me know how that goes , can it go into gravel and some yes and again that is “OFF THE ROAD “
Hi, thanks for great info. Another question: what is the sequence for brake bleeding? thanks
Always start from the furthest from the master cylinder and finish with the closest
@@PRviewsvlogs yes, but is it RightRear, LeftFront, LeftRear, RightFront or something else? Thanks.
@mariuszk.8054 on this car it’s r/r l/r r/f and l/f , again you start from the further from the master cylinder and work your way to the closest
Thanks.
The braking is definitely weird. I just got a '24 Platinum 5 days ago. It seems to be a bias issue. Front brakes and rotors are always bigger for a reason. The rear brakes wearing this quick, combined with the unrefined braking, points 100% to a bias issue between the front and back. Hopefully, Nissan can figure this out.
Can it be done with a 9volt battery vs 12v ?
Yes but it would take longer to retract
Where do I get the battery?
Just use any 12v battery
My 2022 Pathfinder sv is 10500 miles and the dealer tell me i have to change the rear pads soon because is 3mm ..i dont drive much this car... I buy it in june 2022
Yea pads last between 15-28k miles
how many miles on this suv
28k , I showed why they wore fast .
Is this the same for the 22 rouge?
I herd you say you had one
Never said I had one and yes it the same
17:08 you said on the rouge you use to have one and thanks is there anything special about the front breaks as well or just rear
@ericmoore1365 oh yea I had a 2017 rogue completely different , and no the front brakes are just like any other car
LKA uses rear brakes, same issues with New Mitsubishi Outlander, same software, same hardware.
I will use power stop brakes.
Not like the pad is any larger or the vehicle changed in any way , it may not change the life of the brake pad only time will tell
Great video! However the red stuff (if its the anti-squeak stuff i am thinking of) turns into an anti-slip rubber, DO NOT put on pins/slides or the ears of the caliper slides! Only on the back of pads if they do not have shims (Says on instructions)., use a silicone grease for the PINS and if you clean slides like you did, you do not need really anything on there.
What ?? Nobody put the anti squeak stuff on the pins 🤦🏽♂️ , the grease have went on the pins/slides which is also red .
@@PRviewsvlogs Phew! It was more for viewers, the red bottle looked exactly like the CRC disk Brake Quiet! and all the stuff used in video was red and you shown only one container....I can tell your excellent with this stuff......
@daveroski yes the bottle is always out but there is also a tub of red lube
Can it be done with a 9v battery? For the relay
@tcgnmore2803 yes it can it make just take longer to retract
Can i use a 18v battery?
Why would u want to , just use a 12v , I’ve never tried , the vehicle only uses 12v , u may cause damage
I was asking its all I have
@@JoseGomez-ki6gg you can try just be careful
My Craftsman rechargeable 19.2 v battery for cordless drill worked fine
@@markkolb7818 you got lucky , had a guy use a 18v battery and damaged the motor
Manufacturers trying to account for every mistake driver may make. Just learn to drive. Will be simpler maintenance.
You understand that people now can nearly parallel park , and if the have to reverse camera then they can’t reverse park , it’s the world we live and the people we’ve raised , they need a handy cap for everything
All you have to do is take out two Allen screws, separate from housing. Take a T45 torque fitting or anything else you may have that fits in the hole and insert and turn while putting the c clamp or brake piston tool and turn accordingly....
You can do it the hard way while u do all that I’ve already finished the brake job .
Thats too much work bro
The video was great and while I was worried about making the "tool" it was easy and glad I did... thank you for the video.
@@agoodiecontreras5014 glad I could help
