Your visit to St. Mary's church reminded me of the trip we made from Canada to UK a few years ago. My mother-in-law's brother was a pilot in the Canadian Air Force during the war, stationed in UK, getting ready to go fight the Hun. He was 20 years old when he was killed, and was buried in a 14th century church near the airfield. No member of the family had ever visited the grave, so out mission was to find the grave site for her. Doo you know how many St. Mary's churches there are in the Cotswolds? Even how many there are in Oxfordshire? We finally found the right church at Black Bourton, Bampton, OX18 2PQ. It was quite an emotional visit, but a necessary one. I was in awe that a church built 1,000 years ago is still in use, with services twice a month
These vlogs are a fab tonic slow gentle all as is. I’m binge watching up to here 23 in 2 days going into day 3! Brilliant keeping me sane at work that’s working from home work! Always been my dream what you’re doing, my wife not keen so it will never be ☹️ may get a boat one day though for weekends and and occasional holiday. Loving watching your way of life the music accompanying is just the best and fits so well. It’s great cheers Ade
I’m binge-watching your excellent series of videos and enjoying them immensely. A couple observations: it’s a treat to see a real partnership in action. You seem to really well together, and it’s a pleasure to watch. Second, as one who solves problems by standing back and throwing dollars at them, I love that you’re doing all this as a self-professed non-DIYer. Good on ya. Looking forward to all the rest of what you share.
Hi folks ..great vlog as always .....just to let you know I'm a London underground train driver.....so there you go.....your dad's polished badge looks first class....all the best....and keep the vlogs coming....cheers...👍👍🍺🍺
1812 is also an Overture by Tchaikovsky to commemorate the Russian army defence of mother Russia from the invading army of Napoleon. Great vlog, I like your style and sense of humour.
considering ive only just started watching your videos I am finding them very interesting and enjoyable to watch I watched just one video then decided to subscribe and pressed the little bell for future video reminders I came across your videos by accident as I wasn't searching for you I was looking at something else when you video about attempting to live a plastic free life so I left a comment on that video great video I wil try and look for your very first boat video but would like to know the title of it as that would make it easier to find them

Hi guys thanks for the update and sharing this video 👍👍👍🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Loved the look of those elderberries Fran, we don’t get them in NZ, or I’ve never seen them. I’m watching all your backlogs of vlogs and it’s so interesting.
People talking doom and gloom about the water levels, we used to moor at Pewsey on the club moorings, water levels were low every summer and it was only after the canal was opened that you could actuallly reach Devizes in summer, the weed was so thick few boats could get through, great to see video footage of our old stamping grounds, many thanks. Fran you cold cure should have honey in it, you are an ex beekeeper are you not. Kev
Elderberry makes a nice vine even better if sun dried raisins added, the stronger the better 3 lbs fruit per gallon of water. Seems elderberries are tasteless till you add sugar.
Yep, looking at that, I'm going to tell you, THE POUND IS LOW! I want to know what you're going to do to me ! Following in NZ. But I just had to tell you that the pound is low. Love your videos.
Anthony Parker It didn’t rain for months in summer 2018 is why the water levels dropped. Canals are man made so are topped up by water mostly from reservoirs or sometimes rivers . It is pumped from the reservoirs into the canals to replenish the water supplies, especially at locks where 1000’s litres of water is needed . It is also back pumped from the bottom of the locks back to the top . In this episode he said that the pump hadn’t been working so water was especially low.
Love that you keep mentioning you’re a train driver’s daughter. Me too. My Dad drove steam trains on the mainline between Holyhead and London. Although I’m proud of my railway heritage (I also worked for BR before it was privatised), I’m sad that I don’t remember my Dad as he died in a work accident at Crewe in 1961 when I was a baby.
Hi, thank you for your message. Such a shame you don't remember your dad. Mine worked on the boat trains between ready London and the East coast. His claim to fame was that he let his fireman take control of his train one day and crashed into the royal engine! It always seemed like the perfect job for a dad to tell people he was a train driver!
Hello, following from NZ. Lovely videos, great shot of an A4 at speed. Sad to think that it was the railways that almost killed the canals, but you two are showing that the existing canal system are there to be enjoyed. As I am originally from London, I'm looking forward to seeing the sights of London through your videos. Continue to enjoy yourselves Regards Barry .
Thanks Barry. There is a big campaign going on now to open the canals up to encourage more people to use them, eg cyclists and walkers, and hopefully bring in more income to maintain them. lets hope it works. thank you for joining us from NZ
Her Harrowboat Girl is a sweetheart.

Most notable events of 1812, Napolian invades Russia, USA declares war on Great Brittain, birth of Robert Browning and Charles Dickens.

Roger Brown it's a good job you're in New Zealand!!

Rather be on the K & A than here at the moment, even if the pound is low. That reminds me, our dollar is low right now.
Great vid as usual, curious as to what the little blue icon in the bottom of the right corner of the screen
It's a little logo I've created. You see it at the opening next to our name. Rich
Great video and subscribed to Narrow boat Girl.

Alternative DIY Energy I did he same!
Fantastic. Your awesome. Have an amazing day.
Great video, may I ask what roast you had?
Pure roasted vegetables. Yorkshire pudding and gravy x
what makes a canals water level drop so low or what causes it to drop like that is there some sort of leakage somewhere?

do they come and check how long you have moored up...unless they check you in they will never know how long you have been there...

Planes? Did you mean trains?
ha ha - of course. Had that song in my head.
You changed it! Now my comment has lost it's meaning, shucks.
Tried your no knead bread . Success ! I'll be making it again with olives and stuff . A glass of red wine to wash it down I reckon. Thanks folks.
