#dinosaur #dinosaurs #cretaceous #theropods #theropods #prehistoric #abelisaur #abelisaurs #pycnomenosaurus
*quick correction, Carnotaurus reached 35mp/h and not 45mp/h, I misspelled bad😬
Also pycnomenosaurus is a very underrated dinosaur im glad you made a video about this sausage dino
2:29 Quick correction on this, it's an official playable in Path of Titans, although it's default skin looks a lot more like Carnotaurus, so it's really there in name only.
@@boandarrow04 Yh correct, I will need to specify this in the future, that I actually only mean docs, tv-series and films
Thanks for the image of Majunga roasting a marshmellow.
Mr. Pycno is just like Maip, give us a look at "The World after the Carnosaurs" Maybe if the K-Pg extinction never happened Abelisaurs will reclaimed the Thrones of the charcarodonts, while megaraptorans will hunt dinosaurs just the same and above their own size.
Would love to see you talk about the Kenyan giant or "Titanovenator"!
they were likely the apex predators in their time, and they likely feasted on smaller theropods and herbivorous dinosaurs
Agreed, intraspecific combat and potentially even killing each other has also been shown in Majungasaurus and some Tyrannosaurs, it seems these big Late Cretaceous theropods have no chill
I hope we find more bones of Pycnonemosaurus
You said Pycnomenosaurus was not depicted in Paleomedia.
Its a playable base game creature in Path Of Titans
Ah sorry about that, I always and I mean always forget about the games, When I talk about paleo-media It's always the films and docs
@MegaRaptorEN to be fair, they just made it look like a big carnotaurus. Everyone else chose carnotaurus and Path Of Titans wanted their own carnotaurus so they chose this animal and gave it carnotaurus horns.
Pycno being a Carnotaurine is not so unrealistic as it might sound, since we don't have a skull yet
@MegaRaptorEN but, carnotaurus is the only carnotaurine that has horns. Most of the others don't have any. With how many are hornless or don't have the kind of horns carnotaurus had, it's much more likely that pycnonemosaurus didn't have horns or carnotaurus-like horns either.
There is an undescribed speciment of Abelisaur in Kenya nicknamed "Titanovenator giganteus" that might be quite larger. Sadly it was only mentioned in a 2013 paper and not yet fully scientificaly described so it will remain obscure until then (and can possibly have been overestimated).....Also there is also other fragmentary material like tracks that can point to larger abelisaurs.
Indeed true, I do go by officially described tho, and I will do a short or even a video if we ever get another offically described Abelisaur of that size or bigger
Basically this is the Abelisaur that should have been the Antagonist of Disney's Dinosaur instead of the Carno
You could say that, problem is it was only described in 2002 and Disney Dinosaurs launched in 2000
3:05 ahh my favorite abelisaurid "marshungasaurus"🤤
😋
Another great video by Mega raptor🎉!
Thank you💪
Pycnonemosaurus: "Get in my belly!" 😂😅
😂
@@MegaRaptorEN gonna be a meme
abelisaurids are always under rated like hell (prolly bcuz their great ancestor, ceratosaurus is always portayed in paleo media as allo's stress ball, but atleast the abelisaurids and ceratosaurs outlived the allosauroids)
@@DomiK-im3su
Firstly, Yes Ceratosaurs are generally amazing dinos and secondly As Megaraptorans are no longer Allosauroids, atl most certainly, you are right, the did outlive the Allosaurs
Ceratosaurus was only portrayed as being terribly weak and inferior to allosaurus ONE TIME in Jurassic Fight Club. ONE TIME!!! When Dinosaurs Roamed America may have had allosaurus kill a ceratosaurus in the end, but, not only is that an accurate depiction(allosaurus was bigger than ceratosaurus after all), ceratosaurus was portrayed as a very competent and cool threat for a majority of the time with only allosaurus having its short time at the very end.
I would also argue that a good bunch of abelisaurs aren't really THAT interesting apart from carnotaurus, majungasaurus, and pycnonemosaurus(which is ignored because of its fragmentary nature and conservatively speculated appearance that looks like another generic abelisaur). Once you see the unique ones and general appearance of abelisaurs, you've pretty much seen them all.
@@william3100 but still calling ceratosaur more primative and dumb was called out for no reason, but at the same time, it was JFC
I absolutely love obscure dinosaurs
Amazing video, might I add
🫡Thank you and YES obscure dinosaurs are just AMAZINGGG🫨
@@MegaRaptorEN totally, totally
Hey, what show is this? 0:13 that tyrannosauridae is similar to Planet Dinosaur tyrannosauridae:0
It's called Life on our Planet, you can watch it on Netflix
0:32 this guy is a very wise one
Wonder who he is👀
@@MegaRaptorENIndeed a very mysterious man 🧐
Pycno is in path of titans
Yeah sorry about that, I always just research docs, I should be more specific in the future
@@MegaRaptorEN no biggie
Pycno is represented in path of titans
Yeah sorry about that, will need to specify that I'm only taking about docs, films and tv-series in the future
@MegaRaptorEN ok it's no problem I mean even tarascosaurus has been I the old dinosaur planet documentary
When people create a masstrichtian South American ecosystem they be putting the top predators as maip and carnotaurus but i think pycnemosaurus is a better competition to maip cuz of pycnemos similar size and weight to maip
Indeed Correct, Pycno is closer to megatheropod territory (which is when a theropod can grow up to 5 tons or more)
Did you get the maip macrothorax from eon dude
The fact we've overdramatized just a collection of tailbones shows that scientists are doing IT again.
Many big Dinos are Unfortunately very fragmentary
@@MegaRaptorEN The longnecks are very for their closeup.
I don’t understand what you want to say with this
Funny the so called "more primitive " Ceratosauroids took over.
Great Underdog story
nice
Thanks🙂
@@MegaRaptorEN your welcome
Its DELICIOUSSAURUS!
Carnotaurus could get bigger though
Not bigger than Pycnomenosaurus as far as I'm awhere
@@MegaRaptorEN we have only one specimen
pycno luckily is in path of ttians tho depicted as a carno as the main sub species..which to this day still makes me mad
@@Carnidoom Pycon could be a Carnotaurine, Perhaps we'll never know tho
@@MegaRaptorEN i mean..yeah but its same familiy isnt it
They're both Abelisaurs yeah
who loves abelisaurs ✋✋✋
I'm more a fan of Ceratosaurs in general, their speed and facial features are just so fascinating and amazing
*not really depicted in paleo media*
Me who plays pycno and rams rexes with my forehead all the time in Path of Titans
@@thegek345 Yeah sorry about that, should have said 'In Docs, TV-Series and Films', cause I normally only reasearch those 3
@@MegaRaptorEN lol yeah make sense tbh. Most people don't look to gaming as part of "media" as much
I love meat eating dinosaurs
Theropods for the win🫡💪
My dad works at a museum and they are excavating a massive 150ft theropod from 66million years ago. They think that these guys went on a rampage killing every dinosaur and other large animals before being wiped out by the asteroid themselves. We are truly lucky these massive theropods died out otherwise they would have destroyed all life.
150ft seems impossible to me tbh, but yh Theropods were and still would have been a problem for mammals (and still are today, if you look at birds of prey)
