I liken this to something in the sports world that is very near to my heart. The analogy isn’t perfect, but I think it connects quite well. The Columbus blue jackets were up 2 games to 0 in the first round of the nhl playoffs this year. The capitals won game 3 of the 7 game series in double overtime, and after that the series just wasn’t the same. Unfortunately (for me) the jackets didn’t win a game again and the capitals won the series in 6. So, using that logic, dodgers in 6

And just like that the momentum is back lol. I'd say this is a worse loss. Sox only lost by 1 and it took L.A. 18 innings to do it. Dodgers were out classing the sox through 6 givin up only 1 hit and leading by 4. Only to let the sox tie in the 7th and score 5 additional runs in the ninth. What makes it worse Is if they could of just got 1 more out down by 1 that 2 run shot in the bottom 9th would of won it. But nope they let the sox do what they do best. Score with 2 outs.
The Dodgers are outclassed and the Red Sox are too damn good, it's that simple. If the Dodgers
lose tomorrow they should consider themselves lucky they weren't swept. If they win they're just
prolonging the inevitable (and the agony).

@@georgerubinstein5047 Did you even watch it? It was much more than just pitchers dominating. score-less or lack of scoring does not make it less enjoyable to watch. Obviously, scoring runs is how you win the game, but you still have hits, fielding, errors, pinch-hits and runners, coaching decisions, etc. This game was the epitome of what baseball is. As Indigo said, it is definitely up there as one of the best sporting events that I have ever watched.

This game and game 5 of Dodgers Vs Astros are tied for the best World Series game ever for me. Game 5 was an offensive spectacle, filled with lots of glamour and drama. Game 3 here was a spectacular defensive showcase, and a true battle of wills between teams and managers. I honestly can't pick between them.
Baseball sure is at the highest point it's been at in a very long time right now. The past three World Series have all been incredible!

@reignman2112 well...If he made the easy play, they win. There was plenty of blame to go around, but if Buckner makes that ridiculously routine play, it's over. He was the difference. Yes, it was almost entirely his fault.

What a absolute gem of a game from Walker Buehler we are witnessing a legend being born. Mighty Max Muncy saved the Dodgers season with that blast and Red Sox pitching is looking depleted for game 4. I don't think a team recovers from a lose like that in the World Series so Dodgers in 6.

So classic to see Kinsler all amped up after making it to third with that wide throw by Bellinger, only to get thrown out by him at home a few minutes later and then giving up the tying run on a bad throw. Thank you Ian!
This game is going to really haunt Boston, i think. All year, they were able to walk over their opponents. They were never taken to the limit like this. And i don't know how they're going to be able to respond. But we shall see.

This game ended one year ago this morning. As a Red Sox fan, this was one of my favorite games I’ve ever watched. Even though we lost, it was a game for the ages and didn’t completely feel like a loss.

And later that day that "magical" run ends in a blown game. How do you keep the sox to only 1 hit through 6 and blow a four run lead the very next inning and then allow 4 out of 5 runs with 2 outs in the 9th? It's gotta be sad knowing that if they just got 1 more out they win with that 2 run homer huh? Boston had nothing going offensively 2 games in a row and instead of taking Advantage and making it a tied series somehow they managed to fuck up any momentum they may have had. They deserve to lose the world series again after that lol.
Game wouldn't have gone this far if Robert's put baez pitching in the 8th then Jansen in the ninth but overall really good game

Roberts went to the well with Ryan Madson too the first two games and got burned. I wonder if these are analytically driven choices or gut calls. Tough either way, players are paid millions to execute and you still never really know for sure if they will on a given night.

I heard a crazy stat during the game that the Red Sox were 14-2 in their past 16 postseason road games. Now they’re 14-3 thanks to this insane game. I got too sleepy around the 13th inning and turned in, but I knew I was going to miss a good ending to the game. I just didn’t know how good. Amazing effort by both teams and glad to see that the Dodgers won in order to keep the series interesting.

I'm glad Kenta Maeda seems to have found his home with the Twins, but in postseason relief with the Dodgers he was really good. He did offer up the homer to Altuve in 2017, but there's enough hanging over that series...

What a game. For those who attended, they got quite a bargain getting 2 games in 1. 18 innings, wow! Those pesky Dodgers just had more heart in this game and won a game they absolutely had to win. Great pitching from both teams. Instant classic. We have a series that may go 7 games. In the end, this series will go back to Boston where they'll close it out. Still, we have a good series. Best of luck to both teams.

2. Max Muncy holding up and not going which got him to first
3. Cody Bellinger popping up into the stands. This forced Nunez to crash and allowed Muncy to tag from first
4. Kinsler slipping on the blade of grass which allowed the ball to go wide and allowed LAD to tie the game.
