1 Corinthians 14:4: He who speaks in a tongue edifies [himself], but he who prophesies edifies the church.
1 Corinthians 14:27-28: If anyone speaks in a tongue, let there be two or at the most three, each in turn, and let one interpret. But if there is no interpreter, let him keep silent in church, and let him speak to himself and to God.
Not my words, but the Holy Word, conveniently ignored by those of the charismatic persuasion.
So, with 1 Cor 14:27-28 in mind, who is interpreting...since I fail to see where "unity in worship" is an exception. Was this closed off to non members?
I am not in any way, form, or fashion acting like everyone has the gift of interpretation. Paul very specifically stated when "tongues" are being spoken, they must be interpreted. And there is obviously no one interpreting here.

I take issue with this type of church. I do believe their good Godly people who mean well but their arrogance in the spirit is cringe worthy

I agree. I just left a church that was similar to this. I went for a few months and it was getting more and more intense with moments like this. Upon a deeper and non biased study of 1 Corinthians 14 I realized it was disorderly and being abused.

The title for this video Speaking in tongue is interesting. I wonder if this is what it looked like in Acts chapter 2 where as far as a I know is one of the first examples in the New Testament where we read about the apostles speaking in tongues. In Acts 1 we learn that the apostles were going to be baptized by the Holy Spirit. When the day of Pentecost arrived suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing wind and it filled the house where they were sitting. Dividend tongues as of fire appeared to them and rested on each one of them. They were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance. Today it would be like if the people in the diverse crowd spoke Cantonese, Mandarin, Portuguese, French, Italian, Spanish, etc and the apostles were speaking in those languages and the audience understood what they were saying. What I saw in the video didn’t seem to match this example in the Bible. I’m not sure if anyone there could honestly say they understood what was being uttered. Please correct me if I’m wrong.

My wife told me about this kind of stuff. I am a Bible believing and professing Christian and was a regular church goer up until this shutdown garbage, but this does not look useful to me. The kids are very uncomfortable. I have never seen Christians behave like this. I would rather sit quietly listening to a learned and convicted preacher than this any day.
