Is there quarantine for dogs? Also forgot to ask, do the taxis in the taxi stand outside the Pudong airport, have Taxi meters? Dont wanna get scammed haha and do they accept cash? Please let me know and thank you so much!
Yay glad this was helpful! It doesn't seem like they require PCR Covid test anymore but I'm not sure what the latest is re: covid tests more generally speaking. I unfortunately have no insight into the pet situation lol. There should be taxis at the airport and yes they are metered and drivers should accept cash. We were in the same situation since we didn't have WeChat payment setup (you need a Chinese phone number / bank account) so could only use cash.
Thanks for sharing your experience. It's good to know that taxis accept cash. However, could you please confirm if it's easy to find an english-speaker taxi driver in Shanghai? Or Can you recommend a private car service (like Uber) for transportation?.
What about if passenger with connecting flight via air china with stop over in Beijing going to europe do they need to do antigen test and fill up the health declation?
Thanks for the info. We are flying out to Shanghai soon. Useful info re the health declaration. We only need an antigen test now not PCR. Im not sure if this can just be a simple home test or if you have to have a test done at an official location. I'm based in the UK. If anyone knows please advise?
Looking at online articles it seems that self-testing antigen test should work. Just need to do the test within 48 hours and declare the result in the health declaration form.
Hi, can you also advise if we have to download VPN if we want to be able to use apps like Instagram, RUclips and so on? And do shops/restaurants take overseas credit cards? Thanks in advance
Yes I had to use a VPN service to be able to use those apps. But even then sometimes the hotel wifi is still able to block it. In Shanghai I could only access IG, YT through my international phone data plan + VPN since wifi + VPN didn't work. Re: credit cards - at least when I went, everything had to be paid in WeChat or cash. And since Wechat it seems like you need a Chinese phone number and/or bank account, it was too much of a hassle so we paid everything in cash. Hotels will take credit card though - at least the major international chains.

sorry to Hijak the thread, does anyone know if you need Rapid Antigen to TRANSIT through China? (Ghaungzhou) or is it a case of just filling out a health declaration? ive emailed China Southern and as expected they are not responding
Hey Dave! I'm not 100% sure since I didn't transit through China, but the health declaration form asks for your test result (just Positive or Negative; you don't need to upload anything though they recommend that you have a hardcopy). So you may still need one but in my personal experience (even though I wasn't transiting), they never asked to see a hardcopy of test results.
Ill be havining a layover inside china before arriving at the final destination city. Will they need a pcr test for internal flights or a layover? Cus my pcr test will be expired by then.
When I went you were only required to fill out travel history over the previous 14 days so I put in the corresponding dates. And since I didn’t travel anywhere I just put in my home country for the duration of those 14 days.
Do you know what to put on the health declaration form where it says Chinese address if you’re just laying over in China for a day but will be leaving the airport? Also when it asked about previous travel history if I put my homeland what do I put for the dates of entry and leaving if I’ve lived here my whole life haha
