You might want to lock the cages of all the animals even if they're not escape risks. Our local indie pet store had their turtle stolen right out of his tank. It was caught on camera, dude put the turtle in the wee little backpack his toddler had on.

Should be locked anyways for the animals safety! Customers shouldn't have the ability to open the cages as it could lead to a stepped on or lost reptile (and countless other scenarios but I'll leave it at this)
Both my husband and I have had to patch a few roofs in our life. The silicone will last a few months but the best thing to do is get a 5 gallon bucket of kool seal and a cheap mop and mop it on thick and it will last years and you don't have to constantly redo the silicone. And maybe put pictures on the sides of the frozen food sign. I cant wait to visit your zoo one day.
when I saw how easy emily (temp) fixed it, I thought the guy she called really tried to rip her off. He could have done that - or the kool seal, as you suggested - but that wouldn't have made him big bucks.

Yeah it's very important to not give out any animals without at least a slightly prohibitive fee. Weird people come up with all kinds of crazy things to do with free or incredibly cheap animals.
FYI! Part of my local animal shelter's screening for reptiles is to show proof of the enclosure and basic needs met before they process the adoption! and it might be helpful to make a feeding hole in the tarantula/invert cubes to drop food into rather than people opening the container to feed them and risk an escape/bite

Bless y'all's 💕 hearts... y'all work hard! I've never been that multi-tasked in my entire life... and I was a working mom R.N. I think times were simpler then. No one expected instant results. It was a "hard copy" world, and everything had a slower process . Emily, you look like your Mom... so sweet! Mom... you raised quite a woman there! Such a good ❤!
You got this! I think you needed to hear that. You’re bright and capable and have so much to share. You are fulfilling your calling through your new space and I am excited for you!
As it moves into summer, the metal of the roof will heat up and begin to temper again, causing the weak spots to expand as the metal shrinks when it gets hot and expands when it gets cold. The silicone should hold for a while. I'm glad you didn't start with expanding foam, which would have widened the gaps in other places and made the situation worse. Good job, Em.
Watch that bearded, I kept mine in a sliding class tank like one of those in the past, he learned how to stand up on the glass and fall with it too slowly get it open. Found him chilling in kitchen sunbathing after work once. got a lock lol.
I’m just saying as someone who works at a petsmart. Y’all are gonna run out of mealworms and crickets so fast no matter how much prep! And I just know you guys will be and it makes me so happy.
it just warms my heart to see how much SD has grown. Thank you Emily, Ed, adn the rest of the Snake Discovery supporters for making such an amazing channel. Been watching you guys since the very beginning
I feel like you need a second opinion on the roof...there's NO WAY the existing roof is in such bad shape that the only solution is to slap a new roof on top of it!! Best of luck on your soft open, I love watching these progress videos!
As far as your roof. There is a spray that can be shot onto your roof and will water proof it forever. There's a lot of roofing companies that offer it.
After the shop and zoo are open both of you need to take a LONG vacation!!! You deserve it so much, it has been incredible watching this whole process from announcement to soft open!

You and Ed should be so so proud of yourselves! I know that I am so proud of you both! Congratulations guys!!!! 🎉🎈🎈
For the animals that are in adoption island. For the cages that are empty. You all should make a cute sign that says. Sorry no one is home right home right now. Please check back again later.
Henry's is what's usually used for roof leaks. It looks like the ones that are already done have it on them. They sell a wet-patch product that can be used when it's raining. As far as leaks in general in steel-seam roofs, sometimes leaks can travel down the grooves. If it's still leaking, you may need food coloring to determine where it's coming from.
Over here to adopt a reptile you have to show photos of your existing setup OR purchase the appropriate setup with the adoptive animal. Most rescues are really strict on it.
Loving how the snake's note is "Defensive, not for beginners" instead of "Aggressive" and "Handle with caution" or something stupid along those lines which would essentially be blaming the animal. This place is so darn animal & pet friendly I love it
I'm so happy to see you working so hard four your facility. It is quite sad because I'm Italian and I live in Italy, so it's difficult for me to come there, but I hope that one day I'll be able to visit your shop and say hi to you❤ YOU ARE AMAZING, KEEP GOING💕
I would suggest for the adoption labels maybe getting a wet erase marker or using sharpies on them, just because expo markers can easily be smudged/erased so you dont have to be constantly rewriting and fixing them. but they can still always be cleaning with water or rubbing alcohol etc.

Hey on the off chance anyone sees this I really hope you have a good day I know it might be hard right now and it might feel like there's no use in trying anymore but trust me you are strong you are amazing and you will get trough this and when you do you will be so glad that you didn't stop trying I believe in you don't let the bad day hinder you and if it ever get really bad find someone to talk to you deserve to be happy
Emily be like: Happy B-day.
Littel girl: *Smiles*
Emily: Now work.
I am a simple person,
I see Snake Discovery, I click!
its so cool that you guys are able to put animals for adoption! My Brazilian self is crying rn because I cant adopt this cute little gecko🥲
The closest thing I got to owning a reptile is my red-eared sliders back in 2008. He passed away (my sister forgot to get him in when the weather was scorching hot when I was in school) and when I said I wanted a bearded dragon my folks said no :( so my daily dose of reptile is only from education channels like yours so thankyou, I'm so proud of you. Keep it up!
why do I feel after going to say 3months to a year of the shop being open there going to be a snake discovery show on animal planet
The day always gets better when Snake Discovery uploads a video 😁
Can i just acknowledge the "Emily edits " as I call them.
I always giggle at the added text throughout these videos where the reptiles are letting us know their thoughts 😂😂
Nice work with the business and the vlogs 👌
I adore them!
Yes! The texts are wonderful!!! sometimes they're a bit fast, but I happily rewind (if that is still the correct term, they're not videotapes?) for them
@@margodeheij8976 awe yes, I still say rewind too! Lol
I’m actually going to miss Mandy and the others being on the channel when the facility is finished.
Suddenly Emily becomes French is one of the best captions you have ever put in a video😂 keep up the great work!
Woot, I needed something to keep me awake the last 30minutes of my workday!
You got this! I think you needed to hear that. You’re bright and capable and have so much to share. You are fulfilling your calling through your new space and I am excited for you!
Emily: "All the neighbours over there are looking at me like I'm crazy"
You have a pet aligator and you worry about THAT?
As it moves into summer, the metal of the roof will heat up and begin to temper again, causing the weak spots to expand as the metal shrinks when it gets hot and expands when it gets cold. The silicone should hold for a while. I'm glad you didn't start with expanding foam, which would have widened the gaps in other places and made the situation worse. Good job, Em.
I’m so excited for this I can’t even explain 😱😱😱
Watch that bearded, I kept mine in a sliding class tank like one of those in the past, he learned how to stand up on the glass and fall with it too slowly get it open. Found him chilling in kitchen sunbathing after work once. got a lock lol.
hes like
yo what's up xD
Hahaha, that's genius 🤣
| Drops everything. | “ Helloooo Emily and laziness “
Same
Yes yes yes
This is not laziness, this is educational!!!!
@@themurrrr correct
@@nenaelliott8058
I think she meant her own laziness, cuz she drops everything to watch Emily....
I’m just saying as someone who works at a petsmart. Y’all are gonna run out of mealworms and crickets so fast no matter how much prep! It’s a struggle but it’s so great to se people who aren’t a large corporation managing a business like this cause at our location we do a good job of informing customers but not all Petsmart’s are successful. And I just know you guys will be and it makes me so happy.
it just warms my heart to see how much SD has grown. Thank you Emily, Ed, adn the rest of the Snake Discovery supporters for making such an amazing channel. Been watching you guys since the very beginning
I've been watching them for years and it's crazy to see how far they have come
I feel like you need a second opinion on the roof...there's NO WAY the existing roof is in such bad shape that the only solution is to slap a new roof on top of it!! Best of luck on your soft open, I love watching these progress videos!
It also seems dumb. Its like you have a ripped a shirt and instead of replacing the shirt, you're just putting another shirt on top..
Yay I've been waiting for this update!!🎉
That one spider: -A psycho lunatic-
Can't have a bunch of spiders without that one being insane
Mandy has been such a big help. Through all this.. a big round of applause for her...
I saw that beardie and you better believe I got so hyped to see what Emily thinks of beardies
“THAT DID IT!” My parrot named Batman laughed when you said that 🦕
What kind of parrot do you have?
@@juliusroman8616 Senegal Parrot 23 years young
Waiting for my cat to get out of the emergency vet so glad to see this positive post!
I hope your cat is alright! Best of luck to you and your cat. :)
Wishing your cat the best!
@@thesinistercheeto842 thank you! A coyote got to him
@@leshagan7073 Awww! Poor baby :(
As far as your roof. There is a spray that can be shot onto your roof and will water proof it forever. There's a lot of roofing companies that offer it.
After the shop and zoo are open both of you need to take a LONG vacation!!! You deserve it so much, it has been incredible watching this whole process from announcement to soft open!
you should put clipart/decals/art/something on either side of the fridge frozen foods, i mean it's a lot of visual real estate there.
emily: reptile enthusiast, youtube personality and apparently....roofer. jack of all trades.
i love watching these videos and seeing the progress that has been made!!
🎈🎈🎉I love so much that you are putting/listing who your sale reptiles are produced by to support the small local breeders you can is amazing. And OMG Emily, the amount of work you, your husband Ed, your family and friends have done on your reptile zoo & store is just amazing¡! The place is like night and day! You and Ed should be so so proud of yourselves! I know that I am so proud of you both! Congratulations guys!!!! 🎉🎈🎈
I also have to say I am super happy that the animals in addoption island have been so well cared for
For the animals that are in adoption island. For the cages that are empty. You all should make a cute sign that says. Sorry no one is home right home right now. Please check back again later.
Whenever I see snake discovery
:0 OMG FACILTITY UPDATESSS YASSSS IM EXCITED TO COME THERE
"I need a new pair of pants" 😂 quote of the day
Pudge the gecko omg, I had a hedgehog named Pudge for years and just lost her this past winter. I hope Pudge the gecko has a long happy life.
I wish there was a reptile store like this where i live, theres nothing like that in a very big range
Over here to adopt a reptile you have to show photos of your existing setup OR purchase the appropriate setup with the adoptive animal. Most rescues are really strict on it.
Emily: Sneks
Also Emily when she sees a smol child: FREE LABOR
Loving how the snake's note is "Defensive, not for beginners" instead of "Aggressive" and "Handle with caution" or something stupid along those lines which would essentially be blaming the animal.
This place is so darn animal & pet friendly I love it
I'm so happy to see you working so hard four your facility.
It is quite sad because I'm Italian and I live in Italy, so it's difficult for me to come there, but I hope that one day I'll be able to visit your shop and say hi to you❤
YOU ARE AMAZING, KEEP GOING💕
Wow, helping you shelve geckos and frogs on her birthday, what a good cousin! Happy birthday! 🥳
use a wet erase instead of dry erase so you dont have to worry about rewriting it!
Me: randomly scrolling through videos
Snake Discovery: posts
Also me: YASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
I would suggest for the adoption labels maybe getting a wet erase marker or using sharpies on them, just because expo markers can easily be smudged/erased so you dont have to be constantly rewriting and fixing them. but they can still always be cleaning with water or rubbing alcohol etc.
Adoption island is the best idea and looks so good! The reptiles who end up in adoption island are lucky ones 🦎
