      I think cause quince monitor is to big for a 6x2x4 I think I’m going to get a blue tree since well I like them a little more and it’ll be a permanent home size for him or her

    I got a wild caught green tree about a year ago and I cant say I regret it, but there is definitely a huge difference between it and a captive bred. Ive got him to climb and jump on my arm when I offer food but he wont climb on me otherwise. He isnt scared of me pretty much at all so hoping he will egt better sometime. Some year soon I plan on getting a female so I can hopefully breed them and I will definitely go captive bred. I was just so excited to get a tree monitor after I had fully set up a tank that I kinda just took what I could get in my area. Thanks for all your videos man its super cool with the info you put out about these cool ass creatures

    I've been on this journey to making a good enclosure for a future tree monitor and I wanna know about the various breeders you know.
    Also if I made a rock wall (EPS x Drylok) perimeter, should I consider replacing it with cork bark panels? It sounds like I'm risking harm to my future pet.

    • @willexotic
      @willexotic  3 месяца назад +3

      I PERSONALLY am switching to the cork panels, after my experience with the foam and drylock. It is much much less wear and tear on the animal’s nails and will provide a better surface for plants. Wild tree monitors never interact with such abrasive surfaces in the wild, so their nails, while (very very) sharp, seem to be softer than other monitors. Some good breeders off the top of my head are Codey Kopp, Parker Steen and Bryan Suson, and Nick Gil, to name a few!

    • @GarysmostlyMonitors
      @GarysmostlyMonitors 3 месяца назад +1

      If you already have tha walls then you can just place pieces of cork on the wall and make various areas of it and that should keep the claws good. Ive done that in my mangrove enclosures and they all still have razor blades for claws 😂

  • @GarysmostlyMonitors

    • @willexotic

    • @willexotic
      @willexotic  Месяц назад

      @danielmh99 nah, tree monitors bonding isn’t something i’ve seen recorded. They are solitary animals who really only cross paths to breed. Often times, females will become super defensive and even try and kill the male when nest guarding/ovulating

    Hi I just had couple of questions. I heard Female quince monitor is so hard to take care off. And even I provide big enclosure there is very low chance that female Indicus complex can survive.
    I am trying to buy blue tegu or quince monitor. Do you have any recommendation? Like which one have better personality? (I really don't wont to lose my finger). And which one have higher chance of biting? I understand it depends, but in Korea it is very difficult to find information about monitor lizards in detail. So I want your opinion.

    • @willexotic
      @willexotic  2 месяца назад

      I would definitely say that blue tegus have less of a chance of biting you, due to them mostly being captive bred. Most quince monitors are going to be imported and much more scared of humans.

    • @흑우-r6f

    • @willexotic
      @willexotic  2 месяца назад

    you made a comment about how things happen in the wilds of indo? have you been there ? i have a several times for months at a time and thats not what happens in the wild . nature is on its on time not the time captive keeping. it can rain for hours in indo or mere minutes at any time . mist and rain are not the same thing thats why they have different names and meanings . it might not rain for 2/3 days in the jungle there so if you are trying to replicate those patterns doing things everyday at the same times isnt it . feeding your animals on a schedule isnt what happens in the wild . theres a major difference between industry captive keeping and and wild type captive keeping . the water temps over there do not match up with what comes out our faucets . hell you can track the weather on your smart phone and that will tell you exactly whats going on . not mention the natural enviornment itself is changes with new growth or trees fall or break things get displaced in storms , animals favorite hiding spot my get flooded or taken over . meanwhile cages in your homes stay the same forever in most cases .

    • @willexotic

Honestly I don’t believe what 98 percent of mofos in the reptile community say or claim to do or know . Time has proven most of them are just pretending to be experts . But talking about the wild and never been to see how it works is kinda weird to me . I have a interview with father blue on my channel my 3rd one with him in the last 5 years talking about tree monitors and i have done several podcast on multiple channels for reptiles and canines all of which have thousands of views and i have no social media following at all . Matter of fact I have a new podcast dropping this week and then already scheduled for one more in a week .
