Nice vid! I have a question, what should be done for Cadets who aren't directly involved in our routine? We have a "varsity" team who is currently in the routine and is active, but with the "JV" we don't know exactly how to teach them without slowing down progress with the "varsity."

The "JV" team members - or those not on the competing team in any given event - should practice alongside the competing block. If it's regulation, they should stand apart from the block and perform the movements that correlate to the spot they'd occupy. Same for exhibition. Usually for color guard, it's possible to form a separate team to practice alongside the varsity one. From time to time, these newer members should be rotated into their respective positions in the competing block and the competing members rotated out. This will give them an opportunity to experience drill inside the block and improve. The expectation is that everyone practice together and that non-competing cadets continue to progress and practice. In the long run, inexperienced or unready cadets will slow down the progress of the competing team far more than anything else. We recommend that everyone progress through the same training regimen. And when training individual movements (i.e. rifle manuals or spins) the "varsity" can train right alongside the "JV." Hopefully that's helpful!

I will apply this for next practice. Thank you!
