I’ve been making diy videos for a while but I know there is still so much to learn. I love the idea of making dupes on a budget. I’m so impressed with this vase redo! This is the best looking I’ve seen, and I find it’s easier to find glass vases at my local thrift stores. I didn’t realize it was so easy to get results like that with coffee! I subscribed.

It turned out perfect!! I have seen other people spray a clear sealer on the finished project to keep the plaster from chipping over time. 🙂

You can also age the pot by rubbing soil from the garden and/or, if you have a fireplace, some ash. I really like the ash because it has different tones to it.
Yes! I have tried the soil technique on one of my videos I’ve linked it here ruclips.net/video/xipN5aPptGo/видео.html now using ash sounds interesting I will have to try that 😊

I loved the way you used coffee beans to get the aged effect. It's a simpler process than a lot of others I've watched. Think I'll really try this, but maybe on a smaller bowl for the first time. I use a lot of small containers for succulents. Thanks from NH in USA.

Going to do a tall piece now. I think I'll try a variety of acrylic paint to achieve the "old" look. Are you planning to seal your piece?
Why buy when look what we can achieve for only a few dollars!
Plus, the satisfaction of being able to say that you created it yourself!
I know right it’s amazing what you can do. I didn’t seal this one and it’s fine I’m not sure what the finish would look like if a sealer was applied

This is the first time watching your videos and I love the look… I never thought of using a brush to apply the plaster ( I’m definitely going to try that ) the texture is really beautiful! Thank you….. (have you ever used wet coffee grounds?) I’m a new subscriber🙌
Hey thank you so much for your kind comment, I actually tried using wet coffee grounds off camera and it didn’t come out too stone like it’s a great technique if your looking for more or a rustic look as to an aged stone look I’ll have to try it properly another time. Thank you for subscribing:-) x
Looks like a roasted marshmallow. It looks super vintage and I am definitely trying the coffee trick to my planter that I’m working on. (Very similar project)

Sorry I thought I’d replied to you. Yes of course you can I would probably use a sealant around the top section though you don’t want any plaster bits falling inside ☺️
Nice!! The easiest way to apply spackle is with your hands then stipple to give lots of texture..I'm just on 1st vase so maybe you end up using hands but this one is fab!!

No I didn’t need to use anything it’s all stayed in place I didn’t think a sealer was needed 😊
I would use it like a thick brewed coffee and stain it, lovely work ❤

Is it safe or necessary to seal with a m acrylic non glossy spray. I’m working on a tall floral shop vase I bought a few yrs ago at an estate never really did anything with it until I started viewing the channels on DIY aged vases ☺️ I love the neutral colors Ty

Thank you ☺️ I just got them from Morrison flower section they are called Gypsophila. I don’t put them in water I just leave them to dry out x

Will your " pottery" hold up well outside under a covered porch?
I think so if it’s covered, I put some flowers in mine a few weeks ago and filled it with water and the water got on the pot and it was fine ☺️

Looks fantastic. I think you can also dilute the coffee in hot water and lightly paint it on with a small brush to get the same effect. I will definitely give this a go. Thanks for posting

did you use wet coffee grounds?
nope ended up using it dry, I did attempt to use is as a liquid form but your more in control of where you want it to go, as it was dripping down the pot when I tried it that way 😁 hope this helps,,
