    Two things:
    1) I liked how Gaston tried to sneak into the shop through the front door while you can clearly hear the door bell ring. Kind of pointless to sneak if you don't care how much noise you make.

    Okay, Gaston upset me when he said Rumpelstiltskin had kidnapped Belle. I have a problem with this couple because of Gold's manipulation, but I don't want to defend him in any way right now and i want do Belle's justice. Every once in a while on the show, someone says Belle has been kidnapped, and in Season 2 Moe says his daughter disappeared because of a deal he made. This is all bullshit, Belle ended up with Rumpel because she was a fucking heroine who made her own conscious decisions and I am extremely annoyed by those pseudo knights on white horses who think they are controlling Belle's fate.
    I have the feeling that people think Belle is the kind, smart, and courageous librarian with a heart of gold, but they don't treat her like Emma, Charming, or Snow, and that's not right. Let me remind you that this woman is a fucking virtuoso of survival; to stop the war, she let herself be socially demoted (to the level of a maid), worked for a guy who was a monster, was abducted by witches (more than once), survived imprisoned and tortured by Regina, spent 28 years in a psychiatrist and then woke up in a complete stranger to her world, she beat a pirate, was shot, turned into Lacy, had amnesia, revived her boyfriend, went to hell and back pregnant, saw her son as a grown man and thought she missed his childhood, survived the curse of the Black Fairy and did it all in 10cm high heels and without any apparent damage to the psyche. And still people see her as the sweet lovely girlfriend of the Big Bad Mr. Gold, or as a victim of events beyond her control. I am not making excuses for Gold's manipulation (I believe he was also one of those people who did not see the potential of his wife) but I note how amazing Belle is. I think the heroes should be happy that this woman is on their side, because if she was the bad one, she would burn all this world and foundations. And Gaston, Gold and Maurice still think they have to lead her by the hand or take responsibility for her actions. It's insulting to her.

    I never really saw how twisted belle and rumple was until they mentioned rumple kidnapping and making belle his slave and than Belle being his wife in the same scene. Despite all the sweetness of season 1-3, that really is such a hit of realisation. The writers covered it up with cute scenes, but that's what it was.

      +TVOCD he didnt kidnap her, it was a deal... and when you say slave... it was much more like a housekeeper, not to mention she told him she wanted to come, because she always wanted to be a hero and see the world... its gastons view thats twisted here, not the relationship

    • @CatGold5047
      @CatGold5047 8 лет назад +74

      +TVOCD Dark Oncer is right. Belle made that deal with her eyes open, just like she decided to marry a shallow fool she never had a chance of loving. Honestly, interpreting the deal as a kidnapping is treating Belle as more of a servant or slave than Rumple ever did. At least Rumple respects Belle's right to decide her own fate.

    • @tiffanysamuels279

      +dark oncer Even though she made the deal..it was more of a hostage type of situation. Rumpelstiltskin set a price, true but he put her in a situation where she had to chose her people welfare or her life. Even you consider that factor than it's actually worse than kidnapping. Before she offer, he had asked to have Belle. It was more of a hostile situation if anything, to define it would be to complicated. And considering the accommodation where she lived... she might as well be a slave. Her room was horrible and the hostile living situations that she had was bad. And many ways she was a slave, true the work load that she did was that of a housekeeper. But the fact remain that she was consider captive. When Rumpelstiltskin decided to let her go, the first time..he said you are free. Meaning that she wasn't free in the first place which made her a slave. Also if it was a simple situation of being employed then why did she consider taking his offer of running away or never even was payed or allowed to go outside. That is technically being a slave because he controlled her and had a sense of entitlement over her to point he freed her from working with him. Plus she never actually was payed for her work at his house, which is the basic points of slavery, free labor.

    • @tiffanysamuels279
      @tiffanysamuels279 8 лет назад +12

      +TVOCD Personally OUAT have been doing that a lot. If we truly analyze the scenes and think about how many people was killed in this show than it's a pretty high number but it's gloss over. I feel this way in such situations such as the lack of explaining of concepts such as true love, neal lack of character like lets be real when neal enter into ouat he was originally suppose to be Emma's main love interest. Then when the captain hook character became popular neal have a boot. This is why I ultimately can't respect captain swan because the way swanfire was removed in the series was insane.

    It's really nauseating to always see Belle lecture from her soap box, marginalizing people's feelings. Gaston was murdered for trying to rescue Belle from her captor by said captor and she's actually chastising him for that?! Why doesn't anyone ever call her out on how naive she is, on how blind she is to how Rumple constantly psychologically manipulates and abuses her? She absolutely deserves it. I know there are many people who love "Rumbelle" but I honestly don't understand why. Aside from the fact that there is literally no chemistry (aside from when she was Lacey), what is it about this relationship that everyone likes? When he's not lying to her/manipulating her some outside force is putting their "relationship" in turmoil, which is the only time they're working together, which I think some people confuse as a moment of tenderness

    • @EmptyMan000
      @EmptyMan000 8 лет назад +11

      Indeed. It's infuriating how no one calls out Belle for how full of shit and holier than thou she is. All she does is talk down to people as if she has no flaws to exude.

    • @CatGold5047

      Benjamin Kramer For me, it is because my relationship IS Rumbelle. My husband's personality is half Rumple, half Belle, and I am the other halves. And no, I'm not just being stupid - other people around us see it, too. The weird thing is that, when we aren't fighting, we're the happiest and most contented couple around. We are perfectly compatible. We've just gone into our relationship with our eyes open as to who we both are, unlike Rumple and Belle. It helps.
      Oh, and before you ask - yes, we manipulate, challenge and control each other like crazy. It doesn't hurt our marriage in the least. We both make it obvious enough that the other person knows what's going on, that way, we can protest if it's unreasonable. For example, I manipulated my man into stopping his descent into alcoholism when we first started dating. Now that we have had our first child, he started pushing for me to become a bit more ladylike. We're both works in progress and that's okay.
      So, that's my point of view. Hope it helps.

    • @WiiMan1133
      @WiiMan1133 7 лет назад +8

      My analysis of Rumple and Belle's relationship is NOT meant to imply anything about real-life relationships. Rather, I'm trying to argue that their so-called romance is more a product of sloppy, shitty writing, which this show is hopelessly plagued with. It is more a soap opera than anything, making it extremely difficult to get invested in people and storylines, and only pretends to be an epic on par with the Disney movies it claims to respect.
      In regards to Rumbelle specifically, not only is it disrespectful to the original story and meaning of Beauty and the Beast, but there is NOTHING interesting about these two: Belle chooses Rumple because she is adamant in the belief that at his core he is a tortured misguided soul, while Rumple chooses Belle because she enables him. If someone so pure and sweet can forgive him for all he's done he can keep doing evil things, because then he's not alone.
      That could be interesting, except for a majority of the series this is really the only thing that genuinely describes their relationship. There are no moments of true levity, you never see them being 100% honest with each other, or even being playful or sweet. At his best Rumple is trying to pretend that his evil ways are behind him or has to create a reality where he's a hero and she's his loving wife and the mother of his child (PATHETIC).
      Based on her character, Belle should not love a man who would beat her father to within an inch of his life, murder her fiancé for trying to rescue her, abandon his son, murder his first wife, and almost splatter his grandson's brains over a rock. Based on his character, Rumple should not love a woman who would not love him unconditionally, who would not accept him as someone who would do these things to preserve himself and punish those who had wronged him or those he loved. Alternatively, Cora and Rumple's relationship was significantly more compelling because they were honest with each other and they loved that the other had a sadistic streak. That was far more compelling than Rumbelle would ever be.
