"Trans Identity Nothing To Do With Sexuality!" Julia Hartley-Brewer Blasts New SNP Hate Crime Laws

- JK Rowling has vowed to continue “calling a man a man” in defiance of controversial new SNP hate crime laws.
The Harry Potter author said she would not delete her social media posts, in which she has regularly argued that trans women are not women, to avoid being taken to court “under this ludicrous law”.
She said she would instead “do some more accurate sexing” after the legislation takes effect at the start of next month, despite predictions that LGBT campaigners plan to use it to target her. Rowling lives in Edinburgh.
Humza Yousaf oversaw the passage of the Hate Crime and Public Order (Scotland) Act at Holyrood in 2021, when he was justice secretary in Nicola Sturgeon’s government.
TalkTV's Julia Hartley-Brewer is joined by Alba Party Westminster Group Leader and former SNP MP Neale Hanvey who both says JK Rowling has been "an absolute hero."

Regulating speech is a real slippery slope. Saying someone is a man or woman - that's a crime?? In essence, criminalizing truth? Is offending another human being a crime now? Calling someone a bad name, even a racial slur, makes the name-caller an ass, not a criminal. This kind of legislation is dangerous and frankly ridiculous. What happened to law-makers that actually had two working brain cells?
How would that play out in court, as you swear to tell the truth the whole truth and nothing but the trust. There is incongruity between the law and the court. In court you would have to call him a he/him or your not telling the truth.

This is a mechanism for the police in Scotland to appear like they are doing their job effectively. Because these convictions will be easy for them to successfully prosecute with limited evidence, even jsut the say so of some nimby curtain twitcher. It is why the cops are on board with all this, their metric will look great. Far easier than trying to actually catch a burglar or prevent that sort of crime.
If you read the new Scottish legislation you are not aloud to criticise religious ,hope it makes sense for everyone now .

I don't think ive ever knowingly met a trans person. I don't go to lgbt places clubs pubs etc. Only time i come across anything trans is from people complaining about them online. Everyone who comments seems very angry about the whole thing. Why can't trans have their own loos, changing rooms and sport events. It seems like such an easy fix.
