Not a comment for this cookie, although it does look Amazing! Instead it is to tell you, you’ve done it again! In the last month, my daughter and I won two contests with your recipes (apple pie cheesecake and strawberry pop tart cookies) and now you saved us from a birthday cake disaster. Daughter tried a recipe for tres leches cake for a bday party. It was a flop. I scrambled to see if you, my trusted recipe provider, had something. Sure enough! Whipped out your tres leches cake last night, and it is successfully off to the party today. THANKS!!

I love chocolate and cayenne everything!!! The cayenne pepper mixed with cinnamon and chocolate is one of my faves, it gives u a Hot Mexican Chocolate vibe! It is so good! I luv this recipe Sam, keep it up and Happy Holidays!
O my gosh Sam. These look so good. I would of made these this weekend but I was busy but I will next weekend! Could you make a normal oatmeal cream pie video? Like the ones you buy at the store. Those are so good and I would love to know how to make those.
I made these and they were good! I messed up and used turbinado sugar. I think it made them too sweet. DIL sent a couple to school with the grandsons for their teachers. They want the recipe and a couple dozen! Guess I will be a busy baker again tomorrow😊
I made these. They taste great. But they didn't expand in the oven like yours. Also the dough was very crumbly. I am not sure what I did wrong. Love your recipes!
Just made these and I want to keep them longer than the 3 days on the counter as the recipe states. Can I freeze them or refrigerate them?? And then get them out a day ahead so the buttercream thaws..? Or does that not work lol Any suggestions? ❤

@@SugarSpunRunso nice of you to reply! I did not make any substitutions and I did end up weighing all my ingredients. But maybe I weighed incorrectly. Everybody loved them and told me I needed to make them exactly the same lol. So I guess it didn't really matter. This is going to be my new go-to Christmas recipe. I'm making a small batch for each of my staff as gifts. And with cayenne pepper of course! I was hesitant. But you're right.. It's perfect. Thank you! Happy holidays! Hey, Sam. Long time follower making a cake and hoping you see this before the party. I am making one of your cakes for a work party. Because my oven runs hot, I will be using a simple syrup before crumb coating. Does simple syrup make the cake overly sweet? Maybe milk is better? ❤
Hey! Honestly I never use simple syrups, is it possible to turn your oven down a few degrees or check the cake sooner? If not, I would expect the syrup to make the cake sweeter, but it’ll probably be fine overall (it’s a cake after all 😉). I think simple syrup would be better than milk

Can you use Ghirardelli candy melts for the buttercream?

Chopping chocolate is much easier with a serated bread knife in my experience. :-) Have you tested these with a merenge based marshmallow filling?

Did you make any substitutions? Did you weigh your flour? There may have been just a touch too much flour in the cookies. :(
