I love that Jeb’s channel has so many different styles of videos highlighting various transportation. Not just about the travel experience, but also the history and background of every aspect! Jeb’s positive vibe just makes the video 10x better.
Jeb you've definitely found you're niche. Just the right amount of everything you'd want in travel video.I feel like I get a mini vacation for 20 min & its free!!
Wow would have never expected to se MKE highlighted! Born and raised in Milwaukee and have flown through this airport many times. Since growing up I've moved to Denver and now Atlanta and still take trips back to Milwaukee to visit family. This gives me new found appreciation for MKE. And boy oh boy is it a breeze to fly in and out of compared to DEN or ATL....LOL great video!!
@@arthurgearheard4701 it was the hub though and Midwests service was far sulerior to the major airlines. It sure beat having to transfer at bigger airports. Rather fly out of Mitchell then ORD, DTW, ATL or especially DFW.
Love your comments Mike, I to was born and raised in Whitefish Bay then moved to Atlanta in 1996. I have so many memories flying in and out of Milwaukee, it’s truly a breeze like you said. Thanks Jeb for covering my hometown airport and I sure do miss Midwest Express
Jeb I love that you did MKE. I currently work here at MKE and was born and raised here. I’m glad you made the visit and did a review of our airport. Wish I could’ve gotten the chance to meet you!
Wow!!! I thought I knew a lot about travel/airports. I live in Chicago so have never had the chance to fly through Milwaukee. I did, however, attend Marquette University in Milwaukee and know that it's a great city. The scale of operations at Mitchell Airport makes you imagine those at ORD or DFW.
Wow! My home airport on Jeb's channel. How cool is that?! It's quite easy to overlook MKE being only a (sorta) short drive from O'hare, but our airport is as good as it gets. Fun fact...Milwaukee Brewing Company makes a beer called Recombobulation! And it's tasty. Great job, Jeb!
When you are on approach to 19R, you gotta love the Welcome to Cleveland sign that is on the roof of a building. It always catches someone off guard. I do miss the Midwest Express days at MKE.
I grew up in Wisconsin and am quite familiar with MKE. I have seen it transform into what it is now. I also work in aviation (military not commercial) so I appreciate all that you have shared in this video as there are so many aspects to commercial aviation. I no longer live in Wisconsin but will fly into either MKE or MSN to visit family.
Yet another commemter born and raised in Milwaukee here. There's an observation area at the north end of the airport and you can tube your car radio to listen to the pilots and ATC. I have so many wonderful memories of sitting there with my dad watching planes take off and land. I've flown in and out of MKE and I think they have the nicest TSA agents, the coolest shopping (Summerfest and Renaissance books), and some of the best airport firefighters. MKE is protected by Milwaukee County Fire Rescue. MCFR Firefighters and their Air Force Collegues respond to emergencies in neighboring communities at the request of those fire departments for major incidents.
Always liked flying into MKE! In a former job the HQ was in Milwaukee so was there often. Used to fly Midwest Airlines & remember their claim to fame was baking chocolate chip cookies onboard.
Great video. It brought back a lot of memories of my time in the 440th Air Force Reserves, flying in the C-130's and the refuelers at the 128th and working at Midwest Airlines. Thanks for the video.
Wow, what an awesome video. Pleasant surprise to see MKE. The only thing that was missing was some love for the once great Midwest Express Airlines. Great to see a New Glarus spotting tho!
Love these types of videos Jeb! I used to use Midwest Express back in the late 1990's/early 2000's on my way to BOS from DFW. They had wicked cool wide business seats for the whole plane....sadly, they were bought by Frontier in 2010....and are no more. Always enjoyed my stops at MKE back then. Not surprised they won the ASQ award last year!
Wow! Love seeing Milwaukee Airport MKE! I’m not too surprised that the A380 stopped there for customs though because of the EAA Annual Aviation Expo in Oshkosh Wisconsin every July. (OSH) is where it was headed towards… Great Video Jeb MKE is definitely on my bucket list
I believe this is one of the best videos you have ever done. I enjoy all of your videos but the effort, information, and inspiration in this video was truly amazing. Well done!!!
Austin has done a wonderful job of keeping their shops and restaurants in the airport local. You can get pretty good breakfast tacos and even bbq in the airport. Reminds me a bit of this airport.
Wow what an amazing airport! I've got to travel here someday. The amount of unique shops and stores that are relevant to the area is just amazing. Also has someone aspiring to possibly become a commercial pilot, their ACE program looks absolutely incredible!!! Great job with this video Jeb. Always so professional!!!
Second-hand bookstore in an Airport!?! What a FANTASTIC idea... I am blown away!!!! ...AND a direct connection with AMTRAK. A full 24h aviation museum. This airport is what an airport should be.
Great video. I'd love to see you visit some really small regional airports and do something similar, as well as focus on the impact that they have on the town/county.
I enjoy this airport I flown out of it a few times and it was really cool to see this airport and the 128 Air Refueling Wing of course Is incredible to see These old tankers still fly today!
I was there not too long ago. I live in Maryland right outside of DC. I took the overnight Capitol Limited to Chicago to start off my trip. Spent some time in Chicago before taking the Amtrak's Hiawatha from Chicago's Union Station to the stop at Milwaukee before flying back to Baltimore. It was truly a nice airport and nowhere near as crowded compare to ORD. Great video!
Thanks for highlighting MKE! But you missed the joke that's better than "Recombobulation Area". If you fly in on the northern approach, there's a building on the left hand side that has a sign painted on the roof. It says "Welcome to Cleveland".
I used to fly out of MKE often back in the 90s. Midwest Express was the best airline to fly. Every time I fly, I find myself wishing they were still around.
What a great airport. I had the opportunity to visit the airport years ago behind the scenes and have traveled through several times since. Definitely a jewel. Good folks!
Great video Jeb. So many people behind the scenes help airports run like clockwork. Appreciate all those individuals when I travel. See you in the skies!!
Thank you for providing an inside look into MKE. I used to be a service executive for a major telecommunications company. My primary interface with an airport was through their IT department.
