Thank you. I still can't believe my channel has a few members. It's a wonderful thing. I was out kayaking last week and I'm really going to miss it when the cold weather moves in!
Thank you. I always try when I can to break the video up into chapters so people can skip around to what they are most interested in. Have a good week!
Great review! I love how you broke down the reasons for choosing the Tucktec folding kayak. The portability and ease of storage are such huge advantages! Thanks for sharing your insights!
Thanks for the feedback. I'm glad you liked how I broke down the reasons why we picked these kayaks. Yes, to use something often it has to be easy and convenient.
I already commented on one of your similar videos and expressed my enthusiasm for this kayak. I think it's ideal for a family with small car and extremely practical 👍👍
I have watched all your videos with the Tucktec and I know how much you like it but I was never really sold and wasn't sure. We have almost bought several inflatables because they would be easy to put in the RV and transfer to the Jeep but after watching this I am so glad you gave some of the reasons. Especially agree American made and helping small business's we are all about that! You have always made it look easy for set up and break down. We will be deciding this spring and now we will look into this more. Great video well done!
Glad you found my video helpful! These have been perfect for our uses. I'm not sure what type of space you have on the RV, but the inflatables will take up less space than even the Tucktecs. If you do go the inflatable route, try to get a model that has a tracking skeg on the bottom.
That was great. I’ve sold my kayak because I didn’t like putting it on the roof. I agree with your concerns about an inflatable kayak. That one looks brilliant 👌
Glad it was helpful! That's good that you were able to sell your kayak if you weren't happy with it and hauling it on the roof. These type of folding kayaks have been a really good solution for us.
I was considering a two person inflatable kayak, but not now. I like the convenience of having the kayak stored away and in reach. Thank you for sharing.
We never even did a kayak trip this year. And now it's almost too cool for it and don't think we will have time to get one in before it does get too cold. Such a shame. We fully intended to get some floating in this year. Maybe next year. I'm not sure if we would go more if we had something more travel friendly or not. But I'd say probably not. I appreciate you sharing your experience with the inflatables. Never heard anyone before mention the mold and wind issues with inflatables. That's very good information. Thanks for sharing your reasons for choosing your kayaks.
It is tough when the cold weather moves in. Pretty soon it will probably be too cold here to kayak and I'm going to miss it. Our old inflatable kayaks had all these little channels along the bottom and that's where the water would just sit unless you towel dried it before putting it away. It's funny because I watch your videos and I see you riding your e-bikes. I think that might be the next piece of gear I'd love to get! Thanks for watching.
Great reasons to get this kayak! The 2025 model is looking good in red! It makes me want a new one but my original still works well, so I better just keep using it.
You sold me on this. I'm putting it on my Christmas list. Hopefully I can convince my wife to come out with me. I don't know if she's ever been kayaking. All part of the adventure
@@travelingRonman My husband never was interested in kayaking and he really loves it now. I think it really helps to go out on a very calm day and somewhere very easy to paddle like a lake until the person starts to feel comfortable.
Yes, that's actually a really good point. You do have more room in this compared to most kayaks. You will get a little more paddle splash with it being open though. Thanks for leaving a comment.
That’s super cool! I have a few kayaks but now I wanna trade them!! I love the idea of portability and convenience. I’ll definitely be looking into them. Great video!
I really like just having the kayak in the trunk and then having that option if I'm out hiking and I see a good kayaking situation. Glad you enjoyed the video.
Love your shirt! We might be living in a truck camper in a few years and probably won't be able to keep our Wilderness Systems Kayaks (unless we somehow have enough money to build a cabin in the woods with a nice garage/shed), so we will probably get some of these! Love the review/reasons! Thanks for sharing! 🥰
🙂Very nice review, seeing this type of Kayak for the first time, I´d think noooh that´s not gonna work, after watching your review, I´m like Wow very nice easy tech. Thanks for sharing 😊😊😊
Glad you enjoyed seeing this type of folding kayak. I have a whole playlist on my channel where we take these kayaks different places if you want to see more. Thanks for taking the time to comment.
My Oru was right there with you on every point except probably price 😢. But I've used it now for 2.5 summers, so I feel I'm getting my money's worth. Either way, your first reason (convenience) is king. I'd never paddle if I had to use a roof rack!
Yes, I've seen you use your kayak in so many videos and you really have gotten your money out of it. We have a kayak for each of us, so the lower price point was helpful since we needed four of them. Plus, like you showed in that one cave video - you can take these folding kayaks places you never could with a traditional kayak. Thanks for leaving a comment.
We hated the inflatable, too heavy and cumbersome, that took a lot of space. Gave away those we carried on top of the truck that acted like a sail. Great video.
I'm hoping to get one for Christmas. I have been wanting to get out and Kayak and this seems so easy to set up and use, especially for how petite I am. Haha! Great video Sara!
Yes, you could totally carry this and set it up. You might also want to consider the ultra lightweight model, the BOTO which is only 10lbs. I used that one last week at Ricketts Glen because it was a longer walk from the parking lot to the lake. Thanks for watching.
@@darcyshikingdiaries The BOTO is more minimalist. It all comes down to if you prefer the lightest possible, or if you are willing to have some extra weight to get more comfort? My kids can carry the regular ones, so they are not that heavy. I personally think the regular model will be more heavy duty in the long run because it is made of a harder plastic material.
Great review - I can't wait to get back out on the water next spring. Our intex k2 is enough for us for now ( we have one each!) but I can see its shortfalls if we were to use it more than we do. Warm wishes from Millionaire Paul 👋
That's great that the K2 is working out well for you. I know I'm going to miss kayaking so much once the weather gets too cold around here. Thanks for the support.
