The modern music ministry in the Catholic Church Is junk! I'm glad I can't sing! The music coming out of the music nuts in Minnesota is good for nothing! Needs to be completely scrapped!
Another thing is the concept of the Homily, a sermon on the day's reading, rather than a Sermon on some contemporary issue like abortion, or transsexuals etc. Both of these issues make the Mass deadening. But I guess that's the idea!

I grew up listening to rap, hip hop, and as a teen evolved into drug trafficker music known as corridos.. now all I listen to is Gregorian Chant and Polyphony. I love it.

I've heard a different style at a church in Jerusalem and one accompanied with a pipe organ at an Abbey in Oceanside, California and both were inspiring. We love Gregorian chant.

Gregorian Chant was made from melding of the earlier Greek style Catholic chants with the (then) newer style that formed in Celtic Gaul. It is very beautiful. But I prefer the older form. Sounds … weightier. Helotes. Gravitas. Gregorian sounds more flowery to me.

Both are irrelevant to the worship of GOD. He sees our heart and intent during worship. Not the outwardly style. Remember, GOD judges the heart. Man is concerned with outward appearances.
