Been watching the nba since 96 and Joker is the goat imo I never seen a player like this ever 7foot pg with a computer Brain makes the right play Everytime!🐐
I heard someone say he's Steph behind the 3 point line and Shaq in the paint efficient wise and rhe numbers prove it. I would add he is Magic at the point. Dude is a unicorn.
Yes ,he is efficient as Steph from 3 . Dominant as Shaq in the paint, same diffensive stats as Dankan and assists same as Steve Nash ... One Nikola Jokić season compared to prime year of each other 😮.
I think we are already at scary good!! But I also agree... the best of Jokic is yet to come. His game and his body are still evolving, every year he comes back with more in his arsenal. This year will be no exception.
In 20 games, Jokic had 30/13.5/9.5/1.1/1.0 on 55/46/80 splits. That’s the most triple doubles in one playoffs and 10 assists shy of the 5th Triple Double average. The first four were done in only 4, 12, 5, and 5 total games. He now has the 7th highest postseason TS%, 9th highest postseason PPG, and 2nd highest postseason 3pfg% with 124+ 3s made. He’s also top 20 in career postseason RPG and APG and one of only two players with 50/40/80 career playoff splits. 2023 Jokic had the 5th highest PER for a run that even got to the Finals, giving him the highest total career mark ever. 2023 was the 6th highest VORP and 2nd highest Box Plus Minus for a player who got to the Finals. He had only 2 games with a game score under 20, still winning those games by an average of 20 points. Without another All-Star teammate, he went up against Lebron James, Kevin Durant, Jimmy Butler, Devin Booker, Chris Paul and was guarded by Rudy Gobert, Deandre Ayton, Anthony Davis, and Bam Adebayo. He had under 20 points once in a first round game one blowout of 29 points, then scored 20+ points in 19 straight games. He went 16-4 in those with no Game 7s, good for the 14th best single postseason win percentage ever.
Dude knocked out rising star in Anthony Edwards and 3x defensive player of the year in Rudy Gobert. Knocked out two of the leagues best (arguably) scorers in Booker and Durant. Knocked out the leagues best defense and hottest team since trade deadline in LeBron James and Anthony Davis. Knocked out Spoelstra, Jimmy Butler and Bam, a trio that’s been to the finals before and always in finals contention. Forget the seeding, look who he went against and knocked out, all while leading the entire playoffs in points, rebounds and assists. The greatest individual run in postseason history statistically and accolade wise.
I swore off watching the NBA after the 2002 Referee scandal, they were openly handing Kobe a path to the basket again and again. Never thought I would watch again, no great loss really as the league has fallen into ruin. But someone got me to watch Jokic, then I watched the Nuggets entire playoff run, I am hooked. Never saw such fun high skill level basketball.
Must be, if this isn't the greatest playoff performance, I've missed something. Four records broken (or created, there's no way to break a record you made the first time) by the Finals MVP and regular season MVP (stolen hahaha) Records I remember and looked in statmuse: - Jokic had 10 triple-doubles, most triple-doubles in a postseason, held by Wilt Chamberlain for 56 years, with 7 triple-doubles in the 1967 postseason; - First player to make a 30 20 10 game in the finals, in addition to being the first duo (Jamal Murray) to score triple doubles with more than 30 points in the same game in NBA history, it is not individual, but if it was the first time is because it is not easy; - First player to lead the post season in points, assists and rebounds; - Most games 30 20 10 in NBA history, 3, he only had these stat lines in playoffs, 2 of them in this post season, other players who had 30 20 10 games in playoffs were Abdul-Jabbar and Chamberlain, both with only one game each; - Honorable mention, he almost averages triple-doubles this post season, with 30.0 points, 13.5 rebounds and 9.5 assists per game.
Tired of hearing his game is boring just cuz he’s not flying thru the air dunking but the man’s play is sublime shooting is insane especially in the clutch dominates the glass on both ends passing to rival anyone ever comes up in the clutch on defense amazing efficiency in the post and great footwork like shaq and sir Charles say if you don’t like joker there’s something wrong with you
