1. He is the head of one of Korea's four largest entertainment companies. He has a very high social status in the entertainment industry.
2. He has been a dance singer for over 30 years. Only Park Jin Young is left in his age group.
3. He is a fanatic of old pop.
4. His throat is in the worst condition right now. He was always a great performer.
5. He is an adventurer. Shocking stage costumes are his daily routine.
6. There was a social uproar at that movie festival once. There was a lot of criticism of the actors because they were too arrogant (stiff) while the singers were performing on stage. It's true that for actors, the awards show is a very serious occasion.

I cried my eyes out watching this... at first, I thought it was some kind of prank😂😂.. but guess what.. this is not the best part... later, a vatern actor represented a prize.. he literally said when you go back home, watch the show again and see your faces and reactions when JYP was singing😂😂😂😂😂... everyone was laughing in a shock.. their faces were oops, we got caught😂😂😂😮
those reactions had gotten into a lot of news articles and Kyungsoo's was so prominent hahaha. also the event itself is such an honor for Kyungsoo, he's seated in the very front with Krystal of fx ( rookie collab for Goodbye Summer the duet he sang with Mujin), to his left is the actress who played his mom in his first ever movie, Cart. and next to her is Jo Insung, the lead star in his first ever kdrama its Ok Thats Love and one of his closest friends now. Its a big award event and his 3rd or 4th nomination as Best Actor for the Moon. He is the youngest nominee in that category. Its a great time for Actor Kyungsoo. The funny JYP reaction was just a bonus hehe.
It is funny and all but, I do admire JYP, I mean he is what almost 60 (idk) and he still dances a lot and releases music. He tries to be unique and not afraid of experimenting. I guess he could've lipsynced for this performance if he was going to move that much but it was kinda iconic 😅

As everyone knows, his status in the entertainment industry is very high right now. He's the head of JYP, one of South Korea's four largest agencies. He's been an active dance singer for almost 30 years. This is huge.
His thorough self-care and passion for music.
It's sad because everyone knows that. They know that his current state is not normal.
And, by nature, Mr. Park is not a person who is afraid to be different. From his first debut, he was so unconventional that people were shocked, hahaha. He even wore pants made of vinyl on stage. It was very funny because his pants were damp.
He's an adventurer by nature who enjoys artistic challenges.
i think the actors would’ve enjoyed his stage, if he did his old songs that every korean people knows, cuz those songs were fun and popular, but the song and concept choice was not the best for an ACTORS award😭 they tend to enjoy stages that are popular/known/easy to listen, that’s why film awards usually invite kpop singers that has songs that everyone knows, it’s jyp’s fault for choosing THIS to perform 🙂😭

To be honest, I was so surprised that the actors weren’t able to manage their expressions. You know, if it were April 1st, I’d think they were told to act this way 😅 because they could just vibe with it knowing that they’re on cam plus I believe they can appreciate the effort. He was off key and SO EXTRA but he embodied the 80s and I love him for it. People have a problem with JYP not fitting their standards for how a performer, especially an older performer, should act. F*ck 'em. I've sat through a lot of boring award performances; none of them were by JYP.

@@3wydreamer147 I'm not defending his off-stage behavior. Criticize him for that and I won't say a word, because I don't know if he is worse than the heads of any other agency. Body shaming seems to be ubiquitous in Kpop. But that isn't what this is about. I've seen comments that he is too old to wear see-through pants, too old to dance sexy numbers with a woman, and too old to sing certain lyrics. That's ageism. People don't lose their sexuality because they get older. In this case, he was sick and he performed anyway. More power to him.

Because just like you dont like people judging him for his songs, he has done the exact same to his artists. So people may find him a bit of hypocrite which is why they question his music and performance too. Although I see your point, his personality does affect how people see him on stage. I've heard similar things from GOT7 fans, but when you watch JYP on Bam Bam's RUclips channel, I don't see anything but admiration from Bam Bam. And some of the other members still ask JYP for advice.
Has JYP ever prevented a group or individual from using their performance name after they left his agency? I can't find an instance of that, although it's ubiquitous in K-pop.
Has he told idols to lose weight? Yes. I see how Jeong-yeon from Twice was treated when she came back and performed heavier than when she debuted. The netizens were the ones doing the fat-shaming.
In fact, every time any Idol looks the slightest bit heavier, it's the netizens who are the worst. How much is fat-shaming and how much is being part of a business that sells dreams to the public?
The entertainment industry in every country is in the business of learning the public's ideal, finding facsimiles, and molding them to the closest degree of perfection they can get, then selling them to the public. If people find those practices ugly, they should check themselves. How do they react when Idols gain or lose weight?
It's hypocritical to fault JYP for telling his acts that they need to maintain certain weight standards when the public is the one that enforces those standards through their comments.
He deserves to be criticized because he decides "too fast" whether a song by one of his artists is good enough to record or not? That's the criticism of a man who listens to 100s of songs a day? If you look at the songs that make it past his ear, he has a pretty good track record for hearing the hits (and creating them).
Is he a good human being? I don't know him.
Does he seem better than many CEOs in Idol management? Yes, to me he does. He has opened himself up for more criticism than other agency heads by allowing himself to be filmed making decisions. Most companies don't let you see the sausage being made. He's honest in that way.

He has contributed numerous times and laughed when the staff called jihyo fat to her face. Just because he is more open about the stuff he did doesnt make it any better. He still did it. And no, clearly the way he listened to certain songs for like literally 2 seconds before without even hearing the rest has had negative effects on the artists . Sunmi literally told him in front of an audience that her song he rejected actually became number 1 on the charts . Jyp literally admitted that he doesnt like it when the artists surpass him even though he is supposed to take care of them. It's his job. Watch the variety shows he goes on and listen to what he says. The man clearly has his flaws. I'm not saying that everything he did is wrong but the bad outweighs the good.
