Hmm...The movie was originally animated at 24 fps. When you forcefully convert it 60 fps, it gets rid of motion blur and adds a strange "warping/wobble" effect when characters move.
yeah, I noticed that kind of effect on modern screens at Best Buy back in *2015* when Transformers: Age of Extinction was just hitting home video on DVD & Blu-Ray; while I understand higher resolutions & FPS being more desirable for a *handful* of games, it's not always desirable (in part because old Cathode-Ray Tube/CRT TVs achieve a similar but superior effect); makes me wonder how much we could improve CRT TV tech while making it more desirable & maintainable for the average, sometimes less-informed customer (as well as to disincentivize planned obselecence for manufacturers so they'd be *actually* more eco-friendly, but I digress)
It's interesting, but REALLY odd, as characters in motion sometimes take on a "rubbery" quality. I almost feel like you'd have to animate at 60 fps for this to work right. Still, very fascinating to watch.
fun thing i learned, dr livesey is often animated at twice the framerate of other characters. like during the walk. which means you lose a whole dimension of the original by doing a dubious filling just to reach 60 fps.
The original was already smoother enough. Forcing it to 60 fps really messes the animation work. The movements looks robotic and looses impact and strenght
Thanks Caesius. I found this movie through the meme that's going around. I just love the energy of Dr. Livesey and I thought my 60 fps treatment would be a good fit for it.

I kinda like how that warping bubble effect looks like.
It's a product of adding a ai smoother for physical videos (stop motion or live action) to a 2d video

I definitely prefer the original animation, but the 60fps made it look so interesting
This is a fever dream nightmare, especially with the music in the background

Now let’s try 120fps!
I did interpolate it to 120 fps, which makes it a bit smoother, but I needed to scale it down to the 60 fps max framerate that RUclips has.
480fps! 😂
...
@@CaptRobau oh ok
@@Commander.Starfleet yes indeed!
It's obviously smoother, but animating so far between keyframes causes serious Uncanny Valley creepiness...
Keep watching for the weird music/ sound effects combo 😂😂
Original win!
I hate how their movement still has a cadence of 12 or 24, but going between those frames is smoother.
The background music hits hard. Good skate vid music or a car shoot with Japanese and European cars. Gets the heart going.
Fantastic 😍
24 fps >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Loved It!
Would it be possible for you to apply this in an anime movie from the 69's or 70's?
Something tells me that would help it look more real.
Frame interpolation will never look good on 2d animated movies, it's not made for that
Cool!
60FPS is truly something amazing to behold! G'stuff!
I have a request: enhance the music videos for Peter Gabriel's Sledgehammer, and for Weird Al Yankovic's Jurassic Park.
Enhance in what way exactly?
@@CaptRobau you know, frame rate, motion smoothing, resolution... whatever you normally do with classic stop motion video.
@@HankMeyer I'll look into it.

What song did you use to present this video
Would 48fps be better?
What a delightfully odd choice Cap. 😄

It literally was. Your version was just capped.

Q buena elección de música, esto parece una exagerada pesadilla

Terrible wobble, not worth it!
Thanks, i hate it.
Song made me 🤢🤮
60 FPS NEVER WORKS AT ALL ON ANIMATION!!!
