Another great video Lance ,as always full of information and you make it all look so easy ,really appreciate your work and little tips ,cheers
Thanks Paul, Now onto the front end.
Thanks for the answer, I have injected into my two FE``S liquid fat with a pastry bag. It's been seven years on my first FE. It's still all top and the felt rings are as bright as the first day. Of course, you always have to renew the rubber seal when you restore it or the bushings when they are knocked out. But I have to get rid of it ..... What you do on RUclips is great cinema very understandable and helpful and that you have made the FE times I also find great class. Thank you :-) :-)
Thanks Gunter.
The Ferguson Diesel ..... the most beautiful Ferguson. :-)
Good job there Lance one less nasty leak.
G Day Harrold ,Yeah all good now, now on to the next part.
Lance thanks so much for taking the time to share your experience - you're providing a marvellous service to us tractor nuts. Have you ever tried replacing the steering arm seals on a TEA20 without disassembling the steering box? Some say it can be done by pulling out the old seals and slipping the new ones up and over the steering arms. My 1950 is weeping from the seals and that seems like a simpler fix.
Im working on the TEA box video now and on a six volt I have done it but it turns out on a 12 volt tractor you cant so we will be doing the full rebuild.
Ring spanner wrench is a Deep Offset Box end wrench in the U S of A. there are also box end wrenches that don't have as much offset ..
FYI.. and a heads up. brake cleaner spray and some carb sprays make seals rock hard.. so trying to do a nice clean job can shorten the life span of the job.
wayne p, that is good information about the cleaning spray, thanks.
Cheers from John, Australia.
Good luck sir. What is the oil number or name you added to the steering box? How much should we add in terms of scale? MHF240S AD152 perkins engine.
I use a 90 gear oil and fill to the bung
John Deere Cornhead grease would likely be a good match for that steering gearbox.
Yeah probably.
Yea, I don't know what liquid grease is. I use Engine Stop Smoke in my TEA 20s. It is thick like syrup. Doesn't seem to leak out as fast as the engine oil. Some people just pack grease in theirs and fit a grease nipple. I'll see what you use when you do the steering box on your 48 TEA.
Probably the same I would think,
Liquid grease or (Semi-Fluid Grease) is either an 000EP or 00EP in viscosity grade. It’s all about the worked penetration rating for the grease. Larger the number the thinner the grease. 👍
Even though I used puller , i can't remove the arm, it's jammed because of old tractor, give me any solution to remove it
Try heat or a Pitman arm puller. They are available cheaply now a days where we are.
Great video as usual Lance - when are you hoping to have your rebuild completed?
G day Charles, Mid September is the goal for the Kingaroy show.
Nice job..
Why grease on the gasket
It holds it in place and helps seal possibly.
Thanks!
@@BundyBearsShed Thank you
Hi Lance, What did you use at the end on the paint brush as the degreaser? Thanks.
G Day Joshua, I usually just use some petrol and tidy up with Brakleen
Great bundy can i add a pressure hydraulic line in a manual steering of deutz 6807 wich z too hard plz light us greatings from algeria SALAM
Yes you can if you buy a power assist kit from somewhere and adapt it.
Hi, man kann in das lenkgetriebe auch ein flüssiges Fett verwenden . Das läuft nicht so schnell aus .
Yes I have heard of people using grease.
If you packed it with grease, the recirculating balls wouldnt get enough lubrication.
Just my two cents worth :)
G Day Ken, It doesnt seem to worry them, we used to get a lot that were full of grease. Moisture is the killer usually.
Hey Lance, I have noticed my will leak through the top of the column even if the tractor is sitting. Do you have any idea what would cause this? Thank you
It should not leak from the top as the oil level should be way down on the box itself. It hasnt filled with water from washing or rain at all?
Bundy Bears Shed I will check that & thanks for educational videos. I’ve learned a lot.
Mer ci pour les derksion
Thankyou.
