Two quick things I picked up from watching. One, don’t forget that you can reset mutations such as predator, for boss fights, secondly you can use the slime-head to pick up the boomerang in the castle at the end to avoid the spikes.
Also, please please please please get disengagement! It's basically yolo but for every single biome! You get it in the starting area using your head (literally)
A couple general tips for the game 1. Don’t forget to use your potions. You shouldn’t be dying with potions still available, there’s plenty of ways to get more and on lower bc levels you’ll get enough to not worry about “wasting them” 2. Definitely learn to parry more, it’s a really forgiving and incredibly good mechanic. If you don’t parry, you might as well run a second weapon. Goes the other way too, if you don’t use your second weapon, it might be better to swap to a shield. 3. Learning easy synergies will help you in your runs a lot, the most basic and easiest one with brutality is reforging to 60% bonus dmg to bleeding and the open wounds mutation. With tactics it’s just running point blank, or support with two different turrets, so you’ll always have the bonus even when running around and away from your turrets. 4. Take every curse you see. Curses are scary at first but the higher your stats are, the bigger the boost in dmg just one stat can make, ten enemies isn’t a lot and it’ll help you with being more confident. Prison depths and corrupted prison are small biomes with one guaranteed curse chest but nothing else. 5. More on synergies, if a dmg bonus or a way of inflicting a certain debuff has an “!” Next to it, that means that you either have an item that benefits from it, or inflicts it, it’s also helpful to review all your gear when choosing to buy a new item, even a small bonus on only one item of yours can make a difference. 6. More on buying items, it’s usually not advised to buy an item in the first 2 biomes since they aren’t very high level and you’ll need to buy upgrades pretty soon 7. More on biomes, there’s this map online that you can search which details what each biome contains from shops and their type, scrolls and frags, shop level and how to get there and where they go. Also, there are plenty of helpful guides online by other RUclipsrs if u wanna know more about
Correction: don’t take every curse you see. Especially if you’re still barely on 0BC-1BC. You can safely skip them and it won’t make a difference at all. Higher BC levels need them more often, not lower.
I'm glad you're continuing this game. Tactics is a glass cannon type of build and it consistently deals high damage also I recommend getting armadillopack ,it's so useful it's crazy. Also enter that giant hole at the start of the prison headquarters, you'll get 's key to enter the cavern at the end of graveyard.
12:38 who's gonna' tell him? Me, I guess. Prison depths and corrupted prison are both *bonus* stages. They do not replace any stage in progression, instead fitting directly inbetween stage 2 and 3. It has a guaranteed cursed chest, fairly challenging enemies, and some special item rewards at the end. They can also open up some good routes between your 2nd and 3rd stages. You could go through prison depths and still enter Morass of the Banished on the other side. It is generally always a good idea to go to these areas, unless your build is already too poor to handle them. Just keep in mind, these stages will not offset your flask fountain spawns inbetween stages-- taking these bonus stages will mean taking a second stage without a flask recharge in 1BSC. Also, if you struggle with healing there is actually a VERY easy mutation to get that effectively does the same as YOLO, but it recharges every stage. You will gain a fairly lengthy invulnerable shield after reaching critically low hp (you will not take any extra damage from a heavy hit, it will always trigger!), giving you breathing room to use a flask charge-- you cannot be interrupted or damaged until it wears off. YOLO only gives partial hp back, and no substantial recovery time to put it to good use. You can find the Disengagement mutation above the very beginning room, to the right of the pipe you fall through when you die. You must use the homunculus rune ability to retrieve it.
One tip/trick-ish (idk if this is backseating) but a way to do shi tons of damage is take the wooden shield at the start and it’s free to reforge and on one of the reforges you can get: after you parry next attack (or just a melee I don’t remember) you do 300% more damage, you poison on parry, you light them on fire if you parry. Basically you can get a shield that can fit into every category for free or just do tons of damage.
1:15 For anyone who hasn't done a Baseball Bat run yet: Put all your scrolls into Survival, then run around and mash attack like you're playing a Brutality build. For equipment, grab your preferred shield (Cudgel and Frontline are great) along with Wolf Traps and Root Grenade (Stun Grenade also works, but some bosses are immune). If you have Armadillopack unlocked, make that your first mutation, then put your shield in your backpack and literally anything in your offhand. Roll like crazy and enjoy the free parries. For the other mutations: Heart of Ice makes your skill cooldowns stupid because it's balanced for slow weapons. If you don't have it, Instinct of the Master of Arms is a good alternative. Both at once is overkill but fun. Gastronomy makes large food heal more than flasks (~83% vs. 60%) and gives you bonus damage. If you keep dying, Disengagement makes YOLO look like trash (mainly because it is trash). If you want something _really_ cursed, Vengeance and Face Flask sounds like it might work (I've never tried it). They're both Brutality, but Vengeance starts at +60% damage and Face Flask is only there to trigger it.
Face Flask + Vengeance is stupid op. Pair that with a Spite Sword (that I STILL don't somehow have despite it dropping from literally Buzzcutters and me playing hundreds of runs) or Dagger of Profit + Midas Blood and the enemies are done for
Bat actually hits harder with brutality and since root grenade and wolf traps still serve their purpose of stunning/rooting and their damage is negligible, there’s really no reason to go survival. Combo with the bat is a boss melter on brutality. Predator means the biome is free and instinct of master of arms is going to give you resets.
Just one thing: dislodge your head from your body to pick the blueprint in the inicial area of the game. Not only that, enter in the big hole at the start of the game to unlock the Caverns and the Giant. Btw, using scheme on the final fight with nothing to proc it was funny
Just remember, he can't do that. Unless he had already bought Rise of the Giant unknowingly, he can't access the Cavern. He definitely should do it, though, especially for the lore. Rise of the Giant and The Queen and The Sea give a lot of lore info on the main story, especially Rise of the Giant.
I’ve been playing dead cells for a while and it wasn’t until I had boss stem three that I unlock the ram and spider rune. Watching you play and having fun has motivated me to completely finish the game. Currently stuck on boss steam three but nearly there
Fun fact you can sacrifice the mushroom boi to skip the mama tick fight and score a blueprint he also acts like a grenade. But the sacrifice trick only works in the morass of the banished. All you need to do is find the tall guy and the weird alter that are just before the fight and tell it to blow up right in front of the alter. The only down side is that you effectively turn that mushroom boi into a consuable item like the keys and once used that one just leaves the inventory so while you can find another in the same run your still sacrificing an ability. That said kinda worth it if your low on health and don’t think your going to win a fight
You can add all DLCs at once. Other than Castlevania, each DLC only adds one boss (with a biome route to reach it, and technically Queen and the Sea adds 2 bosses but they're back to back): Bad Seed is a 1st boss, Falls is a 2nd boss and Queen a final boss. Adding all DLCs at once won't overwhelm anything. ( I don't count Rise of the Giant as a DLC as it's free and litterally required to truly finish the base game)

Just so you know for like the 4th or 5th boss cell you have to beat the Giant, which means you need to grab the key in that hole in the beginning to get to the new area

Thank you soooo much for getting me hyped for this game again. Thanks to your videos on DC, I came back to it and had an absolute blast, planning on putting at least 200 more hours into it. Good luck, Mr. Mint
Cool vid but one thing I can recommend is use panchaku with the mutation that stuns enemies when you hit them. Since panchaku hits so many times so fast, it is SO overpoweted. It carried me all the way to 5bc
That mutation's a thing? Isn't that just a regular game mechanic called "breach" (hitting an enemy a certain amount of times while said enemy is in an attack animation can stun it)
For the gold dashy dudes in the Clock Tower, be mindful of long corridors. You can move your camera up and down, use it to look above you, and see if there is a shimmer against a wall, thats the invisible dude.
I hope to follow your DC Journey more in the next few runs. Here are some tips I'd like to add: - I hope you try to parry more in the next video I hope. Parry timings differ ofc for each enemy but a good rule of thumb is to tap the shield after you see the exclamation point and when projectiles are coming. - When you do see a challenge rift, leave it for last so that you can get the kill streak reward for the door before you end the lvl. To see the challenge rifts better, there's an option in the settings where you can add an outline color (I suggest cyan bc its so different to the color pallette of most biomes) so you dont skip over them. - Save your money in the first few biomes and only spend money if there are synergies. Shops in the biomes after the 1st boss are higher tier and have more damage
7:07 ive got a funny pro tip, weapons with that kind of drawback can be stored in the backpack an not give the drawback anymore(and a certain line of mutations can attack out of the backpack)
@@icyphoenix2401 sadly it was patched in the last few updates, just today I picked a weapon with this modifier and it was giving the effect of increased damage intake.
One thing is that there is a very helpful secret in the main lobby area that you can now get. Also Prison depths and corrupted prison and 2.5 areas and give one extra scroll so I would recommend going there every time no matter what.
This was so much fun to be a part of in Twitch chat, Good job on beating the game again. P.S if you want to be as thorough as possible with the kill streak and such, go get explorer's instinct
The prison depths and corrupted prison are optional levels. They are a detour, from ehich you can later continue on your path. they are each other's alternatives, not the alternatives to other biomes like the ramparts or ancient sewers.
WOW. I found you 2 days ago and my only complaint is that I didn’t find you sooner. Your vids are amazing. Your pace is nice. I’d love it if you gave some sections more time/love,but overall I’m super happy to have found you.
@@mintmuffled It's kind of dumb since it's not even in this video lol, but some story beats in Celeste were (i feel) glossed over. I'm a big story enjoyer, especially with that game. Giving a bit more insight into Oshiros refusal to shut down the hotel, or Madeline learning to accept Badeline as a part of herself instead of trying to leave her behind would have been nice to hear mentioned. Again, HUGE fan, and I hope none of that reads as too complain-y.
Oh I gotcha. That mostly came down to the type of video it was. If it was more Let’s Play-esque like my most recent hades vid I might’ve included the story more. But since it was all about the achievements the challenge was the main point. That said I made that video a while ago, and it probably would’ve come out differently today.
You should take a look at the cool animated videos the did for the updates. I could be cool to include some of it in your video if you are getting into the dlc slowly. Thanks for the video! And good luck with your runs :)
A good green build is Baseball bat with bonus to poison and rooted Shield, any kind works Wolf trap with bonus to poison And finally cards set to poison with bonus to poison and rooted
You should get cursed chest every time you see them. Scrolls damage increases exponentially so a single scroll can make the difference. Also, prison depths is a shorter biome but always contains a cursed chest
okay, for the bat at the start of the video, check out windette's video about the stun build, cause it is absolutely insane, i wish you the best of luck in beating the game (unrelated note: tips for what dlcs to buy next: first, buy fatal falls, then go with queen and the sea and last return to castlevania, rise of the giant is completely free and is very endgame, have fun schlawg!)
There’s actually a super busted mutation at the start that you have to use your little slime guy rune to get the mutation allows invincibility for like 5 seconds at 15% hp
Nice Video. I recommend taking the Queen of the sea DLC lkast because it will fuck you up. It only adds another endboss option which is rather hard and the items arent really gamechanging.
Get maria's cat, it's probably the best companion in the game, i had a run where the cat was deallying more damage than my legendary weapon, and even on run's it doesn't, it can get a mutation that makes her inflict either poison or bleed every hit. It's part of the Return to Castlevania DLC and found in castle outskirts
I want to tell a story of my best run of Dead Cells. I thought I was good enough at the game to ignore the costs of the gold doors (If you didn't know, if you break them, they give you a curse stack of 10) and get my build going without spending a dime. I went for every cursed chest I saw due to the high reward, ignoring the risk that came with it. This continued until I was at a curse stack of nearly 120! It was stressful, but I had my build and was ready to confront the consequences of my actions. That run, the roll was my best friend, and we slowly chipped away at the curse stack. 102... 76... 59... 34... 18... 6... and then 0. I died at the final boss, which at the time was the furthest I had made it. Idk how long that run took, but it must have been an hour or two. And to this day I say it was my best.
great video! as a person with over 120+ hours on dead cells as my fav rougelike i see you improving at the game very fast and you are one of my fav channels on dead cells but a game that is really similar to dead cells is skul the hero slayer and there is not a lot of channels about it so can you please make a video on that game?
With practice (and more General Upgrades) you'll find hard mode (1 boss cell) trivial and you'll never go back to it. Keep with the practicing and you'll succeed! 😊 Oh and on the highest difficulty levels (4/5) cursed chests are basically mandatory, so you can't start practicing at playing with those too early.
Fun fact that even SOME pro players dont know: You see the orange bar slowly dissapearing when you get hit? If you hit a enemy during when its still there you heal (its most likely to support aggresive plays)
Hey you got alot better, i finished playing dead cells on 5 boss cells just some tips if you wanna read them. I reccomend the Fatal falls DLC it grants a free legendary every run so its pretty usefull + you can get some great weapons like snake fangs which just melts bosses. Get the mutation in the spawn by climbing up the wall and dissconecting from your body to get a really good mutation basically it makes you invincible when you drop below 15% for like 5 seconds the best thing is you get that every biome. I think you should leatn to use the bat its a really good weapon but sont use it on the hand of the king HE CANNOT BE STUNNED. That should do it. If you read this i wish you good luck on yout next runs.👍
don’t worry it’s only HARD MODE hope you don’t mind beating nightmare mode(it removes all health fountains, flask and makes food give you a deadly poison so god bless your sanity)

This was so much fun to be a part of in Twitch chat, Good job on beating the game again.
P.S if you want to be as thorough as possible with the kill streak and such, go get explorer's instinct
I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS VIDEO STUFF LIKE THIS IS GONNA MAKE YOU HUGE BRO
Idk… it took me about a month to beat dead cells the first time, but then I beat hard mode first try. I guess I’m just that guy
Bro i saw you for the first time playing dead cells it was a pretty good content not gona lie i have a lot of fun keep going bro and good luck ❤❤❤
I will be watching your journey to 5bc with great interest
You won't finish the game until you beat "The Queen"
The prison depths and corrupted prison are optional levels. They are a detour, from ehich you can later continue on your path. they are each other's alternatives, not the alternatives to other biomes like the ramparts or ancient sewers.
1 BC: remember to heal
5bc: remember not to heal 💀
WOW. I found you 2 days ago and my only complaint is that I didn’t find you sooner. Your vids are amazing. Your pace is nice. I’d love it if you gave some sections more time/love,but overall I’m super happy to have found you.
Glad you liked it! Which sections do you think I should’ve given more time?
Probably important to note that rise of the giant dlc allows you to access the 5th poss cell.
The starfury is a GOOD porcupack weapon.
If I may recommend a dlc to add. The Queen of the Sea dlc gives you a guaranteed legendary every run in one of the biomes.
Wait…you can detach your head?
Are you kidding me, did I seriously not realize you could do that this whole time
You should take a look at the cool animated videos the did for the updates. I could be cool to include some of it in your video if you are getting into the dlc slowly. Thanks for the video! And good luck with your runs :)
Editing keeps getting better and better
A good green build is
Baseball bat with bonus to poison and rooted
Shield, any kind works
Wolf trap with bonus to poison
And finally cards set to poison with bonus to poison and rooted
You should get cursed chest every time you see them. Scrolls damage increases exponentially so a single scroll can make the difference. Also, prison depths is a shorter biome but always contains a cursed chest
okay, for the bat at the start of the video, check out windette's video about the stun build, cause it is absolutely insane, i wish you the best of luck in beating the game (unrelated note: tips for what dlcs to buy next: first, buy fatal falls, then go with queen and the sea and last return to castlevania, rise of the giant is completely free and is very endgame, have fun schlawg!)
Mint:"Risk of Rain duds"
Me: *likes video*
There’s actually a super busted mutation at the start that you have to use your little slime guy rune to get the mutation allows invincibility for like 5 seconds at 15% hp
Nice Video. I recommend taking the Queen of the sea DLC lkast because it will fuck you up. It only adds another endboss option which is rather hard and the items arent really gamechanging.
I haven't seen anyone else mention it but I love the choice of music! I swear it's the battleblock theatre theme but I can't fully remember lol
This run is literally over!!
the full flask staring at him
Get maria's cat, it's probably the best companion in the game, i had a run where the cat was deallying more damage than my legendary weapon, and even on run's it doesn't, it can get a mutation that makes her inflict either poison or bleed every hit. It's part of the Return to Castlevania DLC and found in castle outskirts
Didn’t even mention the most important part- the achievement for completing the game with da Boi
Nice video Mint! Look forward to the next one
I really struggled on 1bc
“I healed and then I…”
- average hollow knight player
great video! as a person with over 120+ hours on dead cells as my fav rougelike i see you improving at the game very fast and you are one of my fav channels on dead cells but a game that is really similar to dead cells is skul the hero slayer and there is not a lot of channels about it so can you please make a video on that game?
No 😊
Can't wait to see all of the next boss cells
Just a "pro tip" you can also use your head to drag bots to you, my friend uses it on 4bc. (I think he unlocked 5bc recently)
i feel like adding 1 dlc at a time is indeed a good idea so you get the 4th boss cell from a dlc boss but its sad that you cant get one from both
2bc is where the pain begins
Random recommended channel for dead cells? I will watch
Now all you have to do is beat the truth final boss without taking a single point of damage
With practice (and more General Upgrades) you'll find hard mode (1 boss cell) trivial and you'll never go back to it. Keep with the practicing and you'll succeed! 😊
Oh and on the highest difficulty levels (4/5) cursed chests are basically mandatory, so you can't start practicing at playing with those too early.
Also you can attack the payment locked doors and they curse you, but at least you won’t pay
i love this game and i look forward to more videos on it doing the other difficulties!
Fun fact that even SOME pro players dont know:
You see the orange bar slowly dissapearing when you get hit?
If you hit a enemy during when its still there you heal (its most likely to support aggresive plays)
Frost blast and shock whip with good synergies is my favorite build
Wait till he learns about the dual wield builds for tactics
Nice, you're gonna really feel the difference.
Even before starting i know this video is amazing
Bro I'm at 5 bc help me I can't keep my sanity AHHHH
I love your laugh and the music great video
can you play skul the hero slayer it is dead cells that is just more complicated
An orange bar will appear in your hp bar when you take damage
If you deal damage the orange bar will turn into health
don’t worry it’s only HARD MODE
hope you don’t mind beating nightmare mode(it removes all health fountains, flask and makes food give you a deadly poison
so god bless your sanity)
Dead Rising music is top tier 🔥🔥
nothing beats the maximum bonk build.
Junk parts plus baseball bat plus wolf trap.
10:39 erm what the sigma ☝️
Good job
this is why i use a good shield and a nail. its a good build
Welcome to 2bc which is a very very hard it's harder than 5bc so good luck you'll need it
Use the bat with the butcher knife
i just want to say i like your videos man
The stupid swing from the star fury is actually a refence to the game it comes from which is terraria
