Hi Clara - regarding accessories for the Philips 300 series air fryer, the current model of Lakeland 1lb loaf tin is different to the one in your article. The new one has a lip, which makes it about 22cm long, so it won’t fit in either drawer. I don’t think the current model of 16cm enamel dish will fit in the small drawer either. Her reviews are so professional, she covers absolutely all the details and makes it so pleasant to watch. Great job Clara! P.s. Greetings from Venice, Italy 🙂
Thanks for the excellent review. I've watched this video along with a few of your others and they've all been great, everything so clear and well explained. I've bought this as my first ever air fryer and really impressed so far. The only very slight criticisms, I don't understand why they went with a basket rather than just a crisper plate in the large drawer, seems like its wasted some space and taken away some of the advantage of that larger drawer, and secondly its a bit annoying that there is a slightly raised section in the middle of the basket meaning tins don't rest as nicely as they could in there. Aside from that it seems fantastic, and nicer to look at that a lot of air fryers.
I agree about the basket, the raised pattern in the base is part of the “rapid air technology” and is supposed to help air circulate, I’m not entirely convinced! Thank you for the comment and your kind words, it’s wry much appreciated
Philips has been making Air fryers fior years, I have one that is around 12 years old. Just a basic single drawer thing, with a mechanical timer and temperature control. Great unit, so reliable. If the news last as long as mine, then they are worth the money. The swirly things on the bottom are suppose to help move the air around, better than a flat base. Sometimes the simple things are better than all the digital controls.
The first known convection oven was made in 1945. First air fryer was made by a company called KCS in Germany, and Phillips partnered with them about year later. :)
Yes technically Philips didn’t invent it, but they hold the patent for “rapid air technology” though clearly that hasn’t been terribly useful judging by the amount of other manufacturers doing the same thing
@@skykitchen867 The Original AirFryer however also uses radiant heat, so it was not just a convection oven. It was SEB Group (Tefal) who came up with the Actifry first and Philips came in second, who used the (now most popular) name 'AirFryer' first, therefor inventing the product 'AirFryer'.
Was using convection countertop ovens (like the Deni and Harvest) since the late 80's, still have them and they work making perfect french fries etc. great how its evolved into the air fryers we have today. Thanks for the reply.
Hi Clara, thanks for the videos. One thing i would love to see more of on a air fryer review is what they are like to clean. We have an old phillips 6L one (gave up the ghost today after 5 years of heavy usage) and its bit of a dog to clean despite everything being dishwasher safe. The basket is kind of wire mesh on the bottom and it doesnt clean well without being scrubbed and bottom has this swirly pattern plus a plate on top of this which is kind of a greasy mess after cooking meat Maybe all the new ones are similar in how they are to clean each other, this one looks easier than ours, but its certainly an important part of ownership that I think gets overlooked! I know you usually say if it is dishwasher safe or if it doesn't fit in sink or whatever, but our old one would have passed both of those tests despite definitely not being easy to clean! Dont mean to sound ungrateful or anything, but it would just be the one piece of information i personally i would be looking for that the videos dont provide. Really appreciate the videos, we were probably leaning towards a flexi drawer one but after watching some of your videos we are thinking a dual drawer might work better for us
All feedback is gratefully received! 🙏 I guess the problem for me is because I only use them for a couple of weeks they never get dirty enough to do a deep clean on, but it is something I am aware needs addressing and I’m mulling over how best to tackle it. Thanks for the comment
It does have dual fans. If you take the draws out and look up inside, you'll see there is one for each draw. I've just bought one on the strength of this video and the other video where you compare the 3 top ones. Philips is on offer in curry's at the moment, but i still think I'd have taken this one over the ninja

Hi, just a quick question about the dimensions (sorry, its very critical for me and I haven't found the answer anywhere). Is the 383 mm deep is with handle or without the handle? What is the true depth of the bottom of the airfryer ? (minimal space required). Thanks a lot ✋
Hi Adam, I really wish I could answer but I have already rehomed the Philips. I only have the space to hang on to about half a dozen air fryers at any one moment and had a couple of new ones coming in, I must admit though I was rather sad to see this one go and may regret not hanging on to it!
On John Lewis & Currys website they quote the size to be H442.90 x W382.50 x D314.20mm whereas you have H314 W444 D383 height being the main issue for most people so important to know if will sit on worktop under cabinet....so could you confirm please
The dimensions on John Lewis & Currys are incorrect. You can see the correct dimensions on the Philips website www.philips.co.uk/c-p/NA352_00/3000-series-dual-basket-airfryer (look under “tech spec” and “show all technical specifications”. ) I no longer have the 3000 here but have just measured the height of the 5000’s main body (they are structurally identical except for water tank on top) and can confirm height is 314
We have the Philips 3000 single basket air fryer (HD9257/88). It's a very good design, but has a crucial flaw - the non-stick coating is terrible. The food sticks to the basket and is very difficult to remove. After only 6 months the non-stick coating has come off in large patches exposing the bare metal. Philips are offering to replace the part for free, but it's still the hassle factor (you have to send the whole unit back to them). Have Philips improved the coating on this model? I like the current air fryer I have and would get this dual basket one if they've fixed the problems with the coatings. If not, I'd get the Ninja.
Interesting. I hope they are sending a prepaid courier to collect? I can’t comment on the lifespan of the coating as I haven’t held on to this one, hopefully someone who has had this model for a while will see your comment and reply
if i ask now wich one would you personnally use and recommend between the ninja dual or philips or cosori ? i'm on the edge of buying one and i'm leaning towards the ninja atm. btw thanks for these video's ive run through alot of em!
Funnily enough I’m working in a Ninja V Cosori V Philips video at the moment because so many people are asking, you cannot go wrong with any of them and so it will come down to personal preference. My choice is the Cosori Dual Basket, mostly because I prefer the touchscreen interface

Apologies only just spotted this! It’s out on Wednesday morning. TwinFry isn’t included although I do have a separate review video of that ruclips.net/video/FfbjPPEI088/видео.htmlsi=W6lbuZAz3PhDXyF_
Thank you for the review! I eventually ordered both the Philips 3000 and the Cosori Dual Basket, and still can't decide which is the "better" one. Both have their pros and cons, so I probably end up with one (tending to the Cosori) in the kitchen and the other one in the storage.
@CandidClara was scrolling the comments and found the comment above, related to exactly what I was going to ask. The Cosori Dual Zone 8.5l is on Amazon for £130. The Philips 3000 Dual Zone 9l is at Currys for £100. I prefer the look of the Philips and it's £30 cheaper. Would you advise same size draws (Cosori) over having one big and one small (Philips)? If pressed, which of these would you buy?
Philips est recommandé! Cosori a des défauts comme par exemple; moin bonne gestion de répartition d'air chaud ainsi que les wattes inférieur a Philips donc une cuisson plus faibles... Meilleures fiabilité pour le model Philips
I think it highly unlikely that a major international company like this is going to risk law suits by using coatings/materials that are dangerous to human health.
Hey there! Just received mine today. What liners do you recommend so that I can this thing looking as new as possible? I love your channel btw. Please keep up the amazing job.
I just have 2 more questions about this air fryer. 1 Does it have a pre heat setting? 2 what does that backwards arrow mean? Lol. Wasn't in the manual.
Honestly very close and in fact the week after next I am going to do a video comparing this, the Ninja AF400 and the Cosori Dual basket because I get a lot of questions about those three. Twinfry is here ruclips.net/video/FfbjPPEI088/видео.html

No, I generally point out the loud ones (the 14-in-1!!!) or the quiet ones (just testing a Ninja one which is whisper quiet) but the rest are broadly similar
If I can persuade them to send me some absolutely! I'm starting to create posts for each air fryer showing popular accessories that fit in each air fryer, so this would be useful for that. I'll drop a link here when I've done the one for the AF400
The only Tower I have done so far is this one ruclips.net/video/kaifNSJO8sU/видео.html Are you looking at the dual or single 8L? There seems to be two and I want to make sure I add the right one to the list! :-)
I would love a review on the Philips 5000 Dual Drawer Air Fryer with Steam. I am in Australia. Is that something you can do in the UK? I ask because there does not appear to be many videos or product reviews on this Philips 5000 series Dual Drawere Air Fryer with Steam model. In fact, is steam even needed in an air fryer?
It's funny you should comment, because I rehomed the 3000 series (there's only so many I can keep!!) and I find myself missing it, so long story short, the Philips with steam is the next purchase I just need to review and move on my Black Friday purchases first otherwise my husband might leave me!!
Not sure if I’ve seen one or dreamt it,a two draw that you can take the fire wall out of the middle & put a large one draw in please put me out of my misery please CC
It’s the star technology. She mistakenly said that the star pattern at the bottom of the baskets were to match the logo, however, that star design is what forces the hot air in a pattern such that it evenly distributes heat (much like hot oil) and therefore crisps up food as though it were fried. Minus the grease! 10/10 love the Philips air fryer over any air fryer on the market for this very reason. Just purchased the 3000 series and it is so quiet compared to the original model. Will only purchase Philips air fryers. Also doesn’t need to be “preheated” like some other air fryers on the market (which are more like toaster ovens in my opinion)
I am disappointed with Philips and this air fryer as they are usually one of my favorite companies. Lets start with the sync operation, you said it starts with the left drawer and then finishes with the right drawer so what happens when the right drawer contains food with the longer cooking time, useless, next the fact that there is no longer timer program for dehydrate, so this means I can't do a slow cook unattended if I need to keep restarting, also you gave us the outside measurement but these manufacturers never tell us the size of their baskets as quarts and liters is a volume not a size as a 9 inch basket of 8 liters would be shorter than a 8 inch basket. The last thing I want to ask is why do all you reviewers always want to push your air fryers back to the wall where the plugs are and I have watched many reviewers?
Firstly to answer the question about pushing back the air fryer, I'm purely demonstarting what the fender does and nothing else. Secondly I think you misunderstand the sync function, this is when you are duplicating settings from one drawer to the other, so timings and temperatures would be the same, if you want a longer cooking time for one drawer you would set them up individually and finally with drawer sizes, I am starting to build a database that shares drawer dimensions and some of the bakeware I have used which fits in each air fryer. You can see the first post here candidclara.com/2024/10/29/accessories-for-the-philips-3000-series-air-fryer/ (though I haven't added the dimensions yet)
@@CandidClara I'm sorry but I think you need to go back to your instruction manuals as sync is for when you use both drawers with different settings that you want to finish cooking at the same time. Sorry for late response but this has only just arrived on my computer don't know why so late as it says 3 days ago, must be like Royal Mail got lost in the post.

You won't go wrong with either, both great appliances
If you had to choose only one between this and ninja dual basket, what would you choose? Tnx.
I attempted to answer this in this video ruclips.net/video/qSOXh0MNf2o/видео.htmlsi=ds_qIpnV7xuoEO25 but they are all very close!
@@CandidClara tnx.
Is the coating safe?i did not find any info about what materials they use?
I think it highly unlikely that a major international company like this is going to risk law suits by using coatings/materials that are dangerous to human health.
I agree entirely, there's a lot of misplaced paranoia at the moment about these coatings
Is it quieter than the Cosori Dual Basket or about the same?
This is one of the quietest air fryers I have tested
Hey there! Just received mine today. What liners do you recommend so that I can this thing looking as new as possible? I love your channel btw. Please keep up the amazing job.
I don't actually recommend silicone liners for a few reasons which I cover in this video ruclips.net/video/OpSZqFYh7lA/видео.html
@CandidClara Thank you so much! Getting ready to watch now.
I just have 2 more questions about this air fryer. 1 Does it have a pre heat setting? 2 what does that backwards arrow mean? Lol. Wasn't in the manual.
How would you compare it against the tefal dual easy fry...philips better?
Definitely
So which is better this one or Ninja Af 400? And what about cosori dual twinfryer airfryer do you recommend it?
Honestly very close and in fact the week after next I am going to do a video comparing this, the Ninja AF400 and the Cosori Dual basket because I get a lot of questions about those three. Twinfry is here ruclips.net/video/FfbjPPEI088/видео.html
@@CandidClara I actually just brought the Cosori Dual basket and of course i soon i brought it the Ninja AF400 went on a nice sale I hope I made the right decision ill try it out for a week see how i like it but looking forward for your comparisons video because this was a hard decision.
It’s out on Wednesday
@@almightyurf3236 Which fries better?
How can i change from Fahrenheit to Celsius ?
I’m not aware that you can. This channel is based in the UK and all our appliances are in Celsius
After an hour you would have to add another 30mins for a 1.5kg chicken? but what if you have the other drawer synced to finish at the same time?
A 1.5kg chicken will take less than an hour to cook
@@CandidClara At 200deg C?
I do mine at 180c
Is it loud ?
No, I generally point out the loud ones (the 14-in-1!!!) or the quiet ones (just testing a Ninja one which is whisper quiet) but the rest are broadly similar
Could you please test whether their accessories fit the Ninja Dual Drawer AF400? 🙏🏼👀
If I can persuade them to send me some absolutely! I'm starting to create posts for each air fryer showing popular accessories that fit in each air fryer, so this would be useful for that. I'll drop a link here when I've done the one for the AF400
have you tried the 8L tower see through draws ? i have just got one thank you .
The only Tower I have done so far is this one ruclips.net/video/kaifNSJO8sU/видео.html Are you looking at the dual or single 8L? There seems to be two and I want to make sure I add the right one to the list! :-)
@@CandidClara thank you for your reply It is a two draw from B&M WITH LIGHTS TO SEE IN THE DRAWS
Great, I’ll add it to the list, but I suspect you may be an expert with yours before I get to it!
How can I change F to C temperature ?
I don't believe you can. As standard UK versions are set to Celcius and I would expect that the US ones use Fahrenheit
Not sure if I’ve seen one or dreamt it,a two draw that you can take the fire wall out of the middle & put a large one draw in please put me out of my misery please CC
You didn’t dream it! I have reviewed two like this! ruclips.net/video/FfbjPPEI088/видео.html and ruclips.net/video/-ZKklCD76x0/видео.html
No where in review it mentions how it does the frying..just looks and dimensions and functions don’t help to understand the air fryer performance
Yes frustratingly I wasn't aware what that raised pattern did at the time I recorded the video, I try my best but occasionally things do slip through!
I don't think that button means whole fish, I think it just means fish.
It literally says in the handbook that it is for cooking “whole fish” which may well be a translation issue, but that’s what it says…
Micro plastics and flame retardatant black plastic??
Sorry for late reply thank you some people thought I was crazy say I’d dreamt it 🙏🏻
😂😂😂
@@CandidClara I'm sorry but I think you need to go back to your instruction manuals as sync is for when you use both drawers with different settings that you want to finish cooking at the same time. Sorry for late response but this has only just arrived on my computer don't know why so late as it says 3 days ago, must be like Royal Mail got lost in the post.
Are you able to have one drawer operating and the other off? If only need one side for a meal?
