  • Honestly guys, both of these brands, PHILIPS and COSORI, I can say are one of the best AIR FRYERS out there in the market. I love both of my Air fryers but they are differently built. That's why i got curious and thought of making a video comparing the two in cooking roasted chicken... having the same settings and cooking time. Was really excited to try this out and was so surprised by the result! see it to the end and hope you'll enjoy this video!
    Additionally guys, in this video, I'll be comparing in detail some of the features between the two air fryers. Then I'll be sharing my simple recipe in making roasted chicken in air fryer andI'll teach you a technique on how i usually do this to really cover the chicken with flavour!
    INGREDIENTS: (the amount depends on your preference)
    whole chicken (I used 800g each)
    1/2 cup melted butter
    6 cloves of garlic
    1/2 tbsp salt
    grounded black pepper
    lemon juice (I only used half of the lemon)
    lemon grass (optional)
    CHAPTERS:
    0:00 Intro
    0:45 Ingredients
    1:07 Procedure (preparing the coating mixture)
    1:53 Procedure (preparing the lemon grass stuffing)
    2:15 Procedure (preparing the chicken)
    2:45 Procedure (coating the chicken)
    3:37 Comparison of the basket parts
    4:29 Comparison of the screen
    4:48 Preheating
    5:08 Roasting the Chicken on the Air fryers

      Are you sure that you would really want to cook the chicken for less time? They both looked good on the outside, but to me they could have done with maybe 5 or so minutes more because the inside still could have done with having a darker more 'done' color. At the end of the day everybody has their own personal preference and can press the on or off button at will!

    One seems to run hotter than the other or else could be extracting more moisture maybe? Would you not get a more true indication if you measured the temperature with a thermometer inside the air fryer while cooking? And also measuring the moisture extracted. Less moisture could be an advantage for crispier fries? And I believe they are different watts...the Philips might be higher. Maybe the Philips just cooks faster by way of moisture extraction due to higher watt sucking vs blowing fan? Good video thanks and looks like you're a great cook...yum : )

  • @barcham
    @barcham 2 года назад +79

    Very nice comparison, but it would have been improved if you had used a thermometer to get the temperature of both chickens at the end of cooking. I believe the Philips may have overcooked the bird which is why it appeared to be less juicy than the Cosori. Unfortunately, without knowing the temp of each bird when they were removed, there is no way to know this. You should keep that in mind for any further comparisons or cooking tests you do. A meat thermometer is an absolute must when reviewing how an appliance cooks.

    • @LamiliciousDelights
      @LamiliciousDelights  2 года назад +3

      Hello thank you for that.. I already thought it may have been overcooked a little bit.. but what i’m also emphasizing here is the ability of the cheaper brands to be able to have a good result.. because philips have this other feature.. it also showed that it their feature didn’t even matter..

    • @barcham
      @barcham 2 года назад +9

      @@LamiliciousDelights You cannot properly judge results without checking the temperature of the meat. This applies to anything that is being cooked, whether chicken wings, sausages, a steak, a roast, anything and everything. All appliances are different, and they cannot be judged using identical time and temperature settings because one may heat to a higher temp than another. This is why they sell meat thermometers and oven thermometers, so that you can verify the temperatures of both your oven or, in this case, air fryer, and the final food product. I have a toaster oven that I can set to 350, but will be over 375 when it indicates it has reached the set temp. Range ovens are the same, they are usually off by a good amount. My old oven could be off by as much as 50° F which made a huge difference in cooking times and results. It would not shock me to discover that Air Fryers also vary from the temp they are set at, compared to the actual temperature they reach when cooking.
      Thermometers are indispensable when cooking, whether to set your oven or appliance temperature or to verify the temperature of your food.

    • @tonis3685
      @tonis3685 2 года назад +5

      I agree. The temperature would be the best test control for both chickens to have a fair test because each machine is different. Are both machines the same Watts?
      Also, it seems to me that the Cosori chicken is slightly bigger than the Philips one, so the Cosori one would be a little less cooked if it's cooked for the same amount of time as the smaller chicken.

    • @LamiliciousDelights
      @LamiliciousDelights  2 года назад +4

      @@tonis3685 i haven’t actually checked the watts.. and for the size.. they have the same size.. both of the chickens were 800g.. it’s the size of the air fryer that has difference.. well for sure i need to have more tests for a more elaborate comparison.. and for me, both of the air fryer products are good.. but again, i’m also emphasizing in this video that cheaper air fryers can also do great results.. thank you so much for watching and for the inputs!

    • @tonis3685
      @tonis3685 2 года назад +3

      @@LamiliciousDelights Thank you for making the video and for the comparison. You emphasized the difference in the juiciness of the chickens and that's what Barcham and I were commenting on. If the size was the same, then maybe Philips cooks it faster (might have higher Watts), so it will reach the perfect temperature sooner, as Barcham also mentioned.
      And yes, a lot of cheaper air fryers perform just as well as the more expensive ones :-).

    If you checked the core temperature at the end then you should come to the conclusion that the Philips chicken was overcooked.
    If you should take the chicken out at the moment that the Philips chicken was still nice and juicy then the Cosori was undercooked.
    Conclusion: The Philips airfryer is faster and more efficient. And that is not so suprising because the Philips airfryer is a much higher WATT! You should mention the wattage of the both airfryers. In general: How higher the wattage, how faster the food is ready! I have every morning bake off bread perfectly baked in 5 minutes without preheating in my PhilipsXL airfryer and 2 portions perfectly baked oven fries takes only 7 minutes in my Philips airfryer! This is not an honest review. I think you are sponsored by Cosori?

    After reading the comments, my question is which machine continues to working after a minimum of 2 years and being used at minimum 1 or 2 times on average?
    Do they both clean with the same effort as day? one?
    And which one still takes the same amount of heat and time to cook as day 1?

    • @LamiliciousDelights
      @LamiliciousDelights  Год назад +4

      Hello there! To answer your questions:
      - I still use both of them until now.. though I didn’t bought them at the same time. My Philips is already 2 years and my Cosori around 1 year.
      -I used the Philips more than the Cosori because it’s more older.. and I think around 1 year of using it, the paint/coating of bottom of the basket started to peel off.. and I don’t scrub it.. 😢 though it’s still working fine. However, with cosori, the paint is still ok, used around 4x a week..
      -for the cleaning, Philips is so much hassle to clean for me specially the basket has many parts.. and to top it of, so many crevices where the food may stick and difficult to clean, so may need extra effort.. whereas for cosori, the basket only has 2 parts..
      -furthermore, for cleaning the heating element, they have both the same look and i think for most air fryers, it’s really difficult to clean because it cannot be detached so you cannot clean it properly..
      - for the amount of heat.. I’m sorry but I couldn’t answer it because I don’t really take temperatures of the food when cooking.. and so far I didn’t noticed anything different.. ☺️
      -to summarise my experience, both of them really did well, and though i have some issues with the cleaning aspect of the Philips, i can still recommend both.. the difference for me mainly is the price.. Philips is more expensive than cosori.. so for people who are on a budget, i can say they also rely on Cosori. 😊
      Thank you so much for watching! Hope the video and my answers were able to help you!😍

    So you mind telling me which air fryer you purchased from the Philips line? I’m trying to buy one but I can’t tell which one has the same basket you used, that’s the basket I had before in my old Philips before I had to throw it away. Now it seems like most have the cosori style vs the thinner and more

    Philips is from far superior despite this cosori “fan” review . Philips is just too good and time is essence so that chicken could be cooked much faster and really juicy no need to say about the performance and cooking 2225 w cooking power which makes the difference for a large variety of recipes. My choice will be always Philips , after that Ninja dual fryer and Cosori , that’s my classification

    When compairing airfryers is good to know basket size and watts. So model information is needed. You can't compare only brands because different size and watts and results with same time and temperature is very diffenrent with smaller and lower watt airfryer than bigger and higher watt airfryer. Same as you compare cars with 1.1 and 2.4 L motors. 😂 Just bought philiphs essential 9270/96 airfryer 169€. Smaller and less effective cosori cp158 costs 258€ here. Cosori also just recalled 2 mil. airfryers because of fire risk.
