I was a middle-aged geezer of 37 when this album came out. I decided to buy it because I really liked Nirvana's "Nevermind" from a couple of years earlier, and I was interested in what else "the kids" were up to. I was amazed by how great "Siamese Dream" was. One of my favorite rock albums then and now. As good as many of the albums by The Beatles or The Who from my youth.
I love this album, I remember liking "cherub rock" first. After I got the album I was amazed by how good it was. I couldn't stop playing it. I still think of it as a masterpiece of indie rock.
I agree with that girl "everyone sounds like nickleback" sooo true. Siamese Dream=first cd I ever bought (still my fav) Mayonaise is probably my favorite song EVER. Beautiful, Genius, especially the intro. People don't make music like that anymore. I wish I was 10 years older, so that I could have seen them play. I love you Billy. like a bro.
I started listening to The Smashing Pumpkins back in 95. Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness was the album that got me into them. I was about 13 years old. At that time, everyone in school was listening to Mariah Carey or Boys 2 Men or something. Whenever I told them that I was into alternative rock, they laughed at me. But I didn't care. The only thing that mattered to me back then was my raw emotions whenever I put on the album and cranked up the volume in my headphones.
in 1993 i was 13. Siamese Dream i played that album to death, when i listen to that album it always takes me back to being 13 kinda miss the early 90's. Siamese Dream and my Super Nintendo was the best thing about the early 90's for me.
I saw the pumpkins on lollapalooza in 94 and loved hearing Gish and Siamese Dream! Both records are pure HEAVEN! Billy, James, Darcy, and Jimmy doesn’t get better than that! I’m not gonna lie: I REALLY MISS DARCY BEING IN THIS BAND 💔
I met my first love to this album. We were on a church ski trip heading to Purgatory, CO from the deep south (Mississippi). At the beginning of the trip I was sitting at the back with my friends and she was in the front. In Colorado i took her on a date and we sort of fell in love and on the way back she sat with me and when the clock struck 12 on New Years 1993 we kissed. I was 15 she was 14.
heh, that is always something that makes me feel old, when the guy asks "where were you in the early 90's?" and they answer "oh, we were like 2 or 3... ugh I was going to pumpkin shows and in high school in the 90's. Time flies Glad Billy's back putting out new music though, look forward to more.
Love Siamese Dream... Love SP. Listen so often... Love that SP are back together. Yet, wish SP's "Zeitgeist" and SP's activity more a of a grassroots do something movement than a SP reunion.
Dave I smell what your cooking! At the time, they were just a band, though a cool one. Looking back-its clear how great they are. I was in 8th grade when Meloncholy came out, Kurt was still warm-and It was clear how profound the Pumpkins were becoming. Now its quite clear. And I agree the scene now is so much different, in both good and bad ways.
So, you guys did an interview in Vancouver, yet the SP Vancouver date was canceled last October. I was waiting for that concert. I guess ticket sales just weren't enough? Can't bother playing for fans if you don't make a big profit?
I feel like there is going to be a return to the 90´s music trend soon. Or maybe that´s only what I hope for 🙌❤🙌 Billy please, for the sake of music, unleash the 🎃 beast, much love 🖤
its funny because you can tell that these people ,if they really do like smashing pumpkins as much as they do, are the kind of people who only like SP because of Mellon Collie. Yet in my opinion Mellon Collie is just as great as Siamese Dreams, in the sense that both albums take you places. Mellon Collie takes you through angst and fear and pain and Siamese takes you through the joy and possibilities of life. I love SP!
Im ashamed to live near Vancouver. Those people were stupid but they were totally right about todays music scene. Im so proud to have been born in 1993, being one of the best years for music.
wow they have no clue who they are but the pumpkins are my favorite bands they wouldn't have mad it if nirvana and pearl jam hadn't backed off for awhile while some of the albums were released
try ''Thee Oh Sees''_the dream,''Ty Segall''_I bought my eyes,''B.Lips''_bad kids,''Jay Reatard''_My Shadow. Just like u say music's just gone underground ther are just as good bands like Pumpkins,Nirvana,(yes i stand by what i just said)but you won't hear then on the radio or tv. If we support these bands today not just remenisce the old dayswe can still keep good music going.
Even I feel old when they say 15 years ago. And i was born in 90's. I wish I was born in the early 80's. so then i could actually be in the 90's era. You know what I mean? I sound confusing though. Sorry for that.
fucking disgraceful how most of these people don't know who the Smashing Pumpkins are. I'm willing to bet that they've heard of the fucking Jonas Brothers.
lol i love how they're all like " i have no idea..." then he goes "anything you'd like to say to the SP?" and they're like "yeah, your a major influence billy!" lols no good at lying methinks....
"based on the song title, what do you think the song could be about?" What a bland, vague fucking question if you're asking people about a song they have never even heard of.
people who say music sucks now are idiots. the only thing that's really changed is that good music is rarely becomes mainstream these days. there's a lot of great bands in the indie scene. i agree that there's certainly some pretentious bands, but then again, artists or any form have to be pretentious to some extent, otherwise they wouldn't progress. if the beatles weren't a little pretentious we wouldn't have had Revolver, Sgt. Pepper and so on... same goes for many bands
there shoudl be music liek this still insted we have shitty music and i can even bare to listen to the dam radio its horribale . if there is a god bring back music liek this please !!!!!!!!!!

hah, hardly a middle aged geezer, but its great you can appreciate the similarities of different musical genres and eras
I love this album, I remember liking "cherub rock" first. After I got the album I was amazed by how good it was. I couldn't stop playing it. I still think of it as a masterpiece of indie rock.
SOMA made me pick up the guitar, finally, at the age of 16. The solo in that song gives me goosebumps, best ever

I met my first love to this album. We were on a church ski trip heading to Purgatory, CO from the deep south (Mississippi). A timeless Rock album! Greatest Album I've heard

Am I really this old?! There are people walking around that don't know The Smashing Pumpkins?
most all of billy's solos are otherworldly, but the one on soma is exceptional.
Good for you kid! I love this 💓
This album is my religion! Especially songs like "Hummer" and "Rocket"!
"Little Angels" awwwww so cute
Love Siamese Dream...
Love SP.
Listen so often...
Love that SP are back together.

Such a great album, and the best year for alternative imo, was 1995-1996.
So, you guys did an interview in Vancouver, yet the SP Vancouver date was canceled last October. I was waiting for that concert. I guess ticket sales just weren't enough? Can't bother playing for fans if you don't make a big profit?
I used to live in van when this guy was doing this, I am the biggest sp fan I should have been interviewd
man, I wasn't even born yet in 93, but I will admit that SP is a million times better then any shit today
The video wasnt too bad. Sp for life!
I feel like there is going to be a return to the 90´s music trend soon. Or maybe that´s only what I hope for 🙌❤🙌 Billy please, for the sake of music, unleash the 🎃 beast, much love 🖤
