    Right energy but she needs to learn more tricks & get more creative. She was already in Japan w/ all the spots to cater to her skating but still produced a mid part.

    I mean I guess? I'm starting to see that skill is becoming less and less important when it comes to getting sponsors and products in the current skate industry..

    • @biglinger
      @biglinger 9 месяцев назад +6

      I disagree. Skill, first and foremost, has always been the main reason people get sponsored. Years ago you had to be good in contests, for example. Need the skills to back up the sponsors. This video fell short of it, by a long way.

    • @BLVCKSEA
      @BLVCKSEA 9 месяцев назад +3

      @@biglinger I agree with you..your skills should be the reason you get a sponsor or endorsements.. And I guess your marketability would come along with the package..but that's more important from the companies point of view..kind of weird..bc i swear I already Ieft a reply to the comment before you did saying something similar about performing in contests or dropping video parts..but it looks like it may have been deleted.weird.

    • @killmonger4169
      @killmonger4169 9 месяцев назад +1

      @@biglingerwrong. The industry is changing sadly. The sponsors are choosing minimal skilled now. They don’t care about who wins contests. They want someone who markets to the youth.
      The skate industry we once knew, is gone…

      Do you actually think that's legit TRUE or if we look back like most things ppl pretend are novel, it's not... *I'm gonna drool and speak as I think so feel free to "WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK" me from here on out with a jaw to the floor at my whole ass 9,000 word minimum or F, essay. *EDIT, also is this NOT a common type of skating in Japan, even more before we seen the shit we see at the X games etc and that wild tech big rail shit? I swear I've seen Japanese skaters for the longest if not longer getting down like this vs the latter *AT large. So is it not judged by their standards or is everyone to be held to some USA standard or something ? Hell even then we have our regions that do this or specialize various types of skating of all sorts.
      i.e. Sensitivity and cancel culture in many ways and shit like that lmfao. Conservative moms been trying to cancel hip hop rock n roll blaming Columbine on the music no? Blaming video games trying to stop those, the Da Vinci Code movie, Passion of the Christ, Pokemon cards, hell skateboarding, many calming it was satanic. You had/have ppl canceling Halloween. Hell we use to LEGISLATE cancelations and be so sensitive we made sure we had different water fountains and shit. You may see it more and it may be easier to outrage post but same with social media letting others build up their marketability often on their own thus becoming a marketers wet dream.... I see lots of interviews with old head and OG's that say they didn't deserve shit or were not the best and point to others over looked; and not all of them are just being humble.
      I think there's MORE accessibility to becoming marketable thus you see that more, and those undeserving IF we go only off talent and nothing more, but I'm not sure at all people just now getting more of a pass. Also this is JUST a color way... Adidas is making money off their name for sure but what's their influence in Japan? Is it international thus SUPER smart marking wise? Also there is NO set terms on skating, by this logic who's the standard we hold EVERYONE too? All Tech skaters, no GX bros or No Comply Andys and other shit? No Richie Jacksons, no creative skaters or any of that? WHO says, especially a MULTI billion dollar company has to go ONLY off talent and ONLY off the best of the best.. We kind of MADE that shit up lmfao. There are NO rules really and have not been, you can wipe out whole ass teams of dudes that were not on Paul's level, Shane's Luans, Chris Haslam, and so many before it became common to see ppl incredibly unhinged on a skateboard and just AM. Should we have gate kept ppl out that were not as good as Chris Cole or Koston? Reynolds or Malto? Name ANY era then and now and there are always MOST that do NOT rise to the level of those on the very top of the game at all, are they the only standard if we go by ALL around goodness on a board? I feel like you'd cut out too many ppl if we tried to hardline set some standard to be the most objective. If Koston's the standard we loose so many, Guy, Mullen, Daewon, Marc Johnson, Kareem, Stevie, Kalis, the list goes on, Imagine if they were the standard and anything else was NOT the BEST of the BEST. There's always been more to it. Do you SHIT on damn near half the early baker team that was mostly Homies helping homies then? Also where are all the insanely good guys really getting overlooked? Big brands do not tend to hand out pro models and never had, at least Nike and Adidas. They legit have like freaking 5 at any given time then discontinue for more. P Rod doesnt even have a shoe any more, nor Koston, albeit he's less active. It is what it is, but they do give a LOT more color ways than pro models because they KNOW color ways are likely to sell when it's in one's name AND since they use DECADES old classic shoes and just tune it up for skating. Also that color way can be a test to see how marketable someone is as well... And it IS a company, if you are good as shit but do not sell be it boards or shoes, then sorry, it is a business, not even on some corporate shit but on some sustainability shit. why the hell LOSE money *if that's gonna be the case. Many can afford to take hits and hold it down for their pals or really good ppl but not if there's more really good but not marketable ppl sadly. Theyre are already giving free shit and sometimes pay and often that's enough for the rider, they are content so they are looking out for them still because they really like them and or see how good they are. It really does suck and so many damn legends are broke AF and or back to a regular 9-5, not even all off poor money management or being taken advantage of or being short sided since they were young and living the dream down as fuck.
      Ppl are allowed to create room for this type of skating, it doesn't have to be flip in flip out, big rail, big gap, big stairs, transition, etc etc. There outta be room for this shit and I guess *If it's held to the context of what it is, then some can parse out if it's worthy of XY&Z even if not my cup of tea. Maybe they judge it in "like categories" so Tech bros go with Tech bros, Huckers with Huckers, transition with transition, etc. *Not saying that's the case here, it for sure is gonna also be marketing if not mainly that but I mean broadly speaking I think ppl like to allow for such skating, and if not, they don't sponsor such ppl. @@killmonger4169
