- I sent eight vintage (pre-1975) comic books to CGC after sending them to The Comic Doctor for cleaning and pressing. How did they turn out, and what grades did CGC assign to them?

Great books!
Great point at the beginning! I had a Hulk 340 graded expecting a 9.4. They upcharged me a tier because it got a 9.8, they assessed the value above $1000. I sold the comic 2 months later for $800. (*edit/followup to this statement with my reply)
On second thought… they pushed it past the $400 tier but under $1000 so I redact my example. I also had another book that’s value was probably ~$600 but they left it at the under $400 value tier.
Nice submission! As a big fan of Doom covers, love both that FF 57 and Doom shirt.
Thank you! Very happy with how that FF 57 turned out.
Hey Bren...that's no spine roll!! Hahs...it is a miswrap I believe. 😊
I thought you were going to go with, "that's no spine roll... that's a space station!" 😆
Thought cgc went with the prices in the latest Overstreet guide.
You could be right; I'm not sure.
What a stack o slabs!
It's so rare for me to get a stack of pre-1975 slabs... I wanted to enjoy the unboxing as much as possible.
I agree 100% about CGC’s FMV nonsense. What extra work did they do for that fee? Is it a handling fee?
Unless my comic was given a spa treatment and taken out to dinner I don't know what the additional fees are for. Are they adding insurance to the return shipment?
😂
Isn't the CGC FMV fee for insurance purposes? Pressers do the same.
It's possible, but I can't find any disclosures or specific details on this. The forums are all over the place in terms of FMV declaration by the submitter and by CGC after the book is graded.
Hey Love You video did you cheat on Palm Beach press? 😂😂😂
I like to spread my comic book presser love around. 😊
He's a comic polygamist.
