@@tkennedy5150I doubt that, he wasn't trying to win until the last round. Then blamed his loss on sleep. Even though he paid thousands for a therapist. Belal is just better than him.
@@tylerwhite4557 How am I coping lol? I could care less about Leon, but his performance was pathetic. He didn't try to put up a fight until the end of the fight. It was embarrassing.
I don't remember Usman or GSP ever complaining about guys not deserving a title shot and always accepted whoever the ufc put before them. Leon complained about Colby and then complained about Belal. You shouldn't get to choose who you want to fight
The 2 Leon Edwards fights that stand out in my mind most went basically the same: The Usman fight where he seemed asleep and pouty until he pulled off a head kick and won at the very end. The Belal fight where he seemed asleep and pouty until he finally woke up in the last 10 seconds. This time, it was too late to pull off the win at the end. I have a hard time getting excited about a Leon fight because of this, and that’s probably a shame because some say he’s the most polished striker in the UFC.
Great technique but he doesn't have the spirit of a fighter. If he wasn't afraid to throw blows and tried to be aggressive, it would be a nightmare. But when the guy starts the fight he just seems to want to get out of there. He doesn't have the hunter's instinct. He loses his will in the middle of the fight.
Edwards tried his best to discredit Belal even though I truly believe their first fight could have gone either way. Well deserved title win for Billy 👏
Joe is a great MMA analyst objectively. Some may not like his commentary, but he definitely understands the game to the highest level. Now his comedy though…
The worst possible mistake Leon coulda made was delaying the Belal rematch for so long. He shoulda given it to him right away. He may have been able to beat Belal had they rematched in 2021. He only gave Belal more time to improve and just get hungrier. Allowed Belal to gain momentum leading to him dethroning Leon.
I understand Leon and I also understand Belal, they are two fighters that no one wanted to give a chance. Leon wanted to fight for the title. Nobody gave me a chance. Why would I give him a chance, but I'm glad Bela is having a different attitude.
Looking forward to seeing Edwards come back, he underestimated Belal, I think almost everybody did. But Leon knows now and is great at making adjustments.
Leon saying winning the first round in a 5 round fight against Belal their first fight is what originally made me question his mentality. Like without the eye poke early in the second he could’ve went on and lost the next 4 rounds. Anything can happen. Just look at how he won the belt against Usman after getting dominated most of the fight
Not only Leon underestimated Belal, but in an interview with Sky Sports, he said he doesn't respect Belal's win streak and his hard road to the title fight.
I think leon really leaned into the trolls of twitter so much. And underestimated him way too much crazy how he kept throwing shit at belal more than colby himself. who insulted his father He deserved to lose his belt
People forget that the complete destruction of gaza fueled belals hunger even more. Im pretty sure he wasnt afraid for 1 second while fighting leon edwards. His people are fighting against a well equipped army and are not afraid of dying in the process.
angry leon is a meathead leon while calm leon is a lethal leon i say angry because in the rematch he was trying his best to intimidate belal in the build up

He still went on to beat usman x2 and colby after this... I mean belal barely scraped by in the rematch, he potentially could have gotten finished if there was like 20 more seconds in the 5th round. Congrats to Belal though he still won majority of the rounds.
Belal didn’t barely scrape by, he pretty much dominated most of the fight. R1 was close, he lost R3 and he won the rest of the fight outside of the last few seconds of R5
