Ugh every time I hear "We were here!" I tear up a bit. I just think of all the people who came before us pleading the same thing. Only in a hundred years we'll be replaced with a new set of Humans. Joining the ones who came before us, we'll not even be a whisper. or dwelling in the shadows. We'll just be gone. Only a select few of us will be "immortalized". and even then that's not enough. But at the same time. How beautiful is it that we're all in this together. The experiences we get to share that no Human's have experienced in existence. People reading this probably live thousands of miles away from me. Or in another country entirely! We really are a unique generation of Humans.

It was amazing. I got to see Sabaton open and they were incredibly fun and awesome. And then Nightwish came on and I was blown away. They opened with Shudder Before The Beautiful, which is perfect. I was on the floor not far from the stage. I could see Floor clearly, but not as much for the other band members.
The energy was phenomenal. Hearing people sing along to songs only released a month ago was cool, and "We were here" was an audience participation thing.
For this tour they transition from "Sleeping Sun" to "The Greatest Show on Earth" in a really beautiful way. After Floor stops singing the first song, Troy plays the chorus for Sleeping Sun on the Uillean pipes and gradually transitions to his solo in Greatest Show (the part before "after sleeping..."). Then the band pulls out all the stops and just rocks out.
I'd recommend going if you get the chance.

No, there really isn't, since the god-concept itself is logically incoherent and thus very likely to be a fabrication.

    • @cvetageorgieva4312
      @cvetageorgieva4312 9 лет назад +1

Colton Robertson What do we call God? What we can't explain with logical methods - simply the life and life force itself. We don't know how and why life first happened and because of this we chose to belive there is someone greater than us who caused it in first place. The same way children belive in Santa Claus.
That force doesn't care what name you will call it, what you do, what you belive in - just as gravity doesn't care these things. It simply is.

    • @allastairblackmoore5504
      @allastairblackmoore5504 9 лет назад +3

+Asha Greyjoy THat is YOUR definition of God, my mom has a different one, my neighbor another. In fact, there is a definition of God for every believing person, no one agrees on what God is, every believer has a meaning for it. Some people's Gods are very well defined and influence certain things more than others. Some people have a God who disaproves of gay people and cares about the positions we take during sex. Others have a God that is a "force", the creator of the universe etc. This is exactly what happens when there is no empirical evidence to ground the concept, anyone can make up any idea of God, and in the end their definition is not more or less valid than everyone else's.
When we don't know the answer to something (in this case the question "is God real?") then the answer is "I don't know" and you keep investigating. Assumptions stop the quest for truth and make us look childish.

    • @BatsAndBadgers
      @BatsAndBadgers 7 лет назад

your belief is that its a fabrication. But you are missing out on the heartwarming idea that something infinite in scope created something as complex as nature, and whatever other dimensions we dont know about yet. Its alot nicer than believing you are nothing but a mesh of atoms like a rock. i dont know why some people are so averse to the idea of a being greater than themselves that wanted organic life to exist.

Being one who didn't get to Nightwish until after Tarja had left, I could appreciate her but had no emotional attachment to her. Likewise, discovering Nightwish with "Dark Passion Play" I couldn't get the criticisms against Anette. Sure, she was different from Tarja but it worked for the material she was doing for them on both "Dark Pasion Play" and "Imaginaerum". However, Floor, IMO, does both eras justice and beyond. Looking forward to the future releases for sure :).

    • @CalvZynist
      @CalvZynist 6 лет назад

Blake Burton I feel for all the lost individuals falling for and believing the grandeur lie of evolution. If you are concerned with DNA you can do some research on your own to see every host body's DNA has descended from one female. Do you not know you are one of the elohim caught in a host body snare of flesh? John 10:34 Jesus G2424 answered G611them G846, Is it G2076 not G3756written G1125 in G1722 your G5216law G3551, I G1473 said G2036, Ye areG2075 gods G2316? The word gods is elohim, meaning angels. He is quoting the LORD GOD YAHOVAH in Psalms 82 5-6 They know H3045 not, neither will they understand H995; they walkH1980 on in darkness H2825: all the foundations H4144 of the earth H776are out of course H4131.
6 I have said H559, Ye are gods H430; and all of you are children H1121 of the most High H5945.
You hate me and the LORD GOD'S message without cause? Not surprising. What may be surprising for you will be when the locusts come out of the pit REVELATION 9. You're a fallen elohim like I am, but DAD the LORD GOD came into this system of flesh (created by lucifer in Genesis 1, "god created the heavens......) the word god in Genesis 1 is NOT THE LORD GOD YAHOVAH, He is not mentioned until GENESIS 2 ! you left your eternal estate and are not caught in the snare of flesh by the devil. 2 Tim 2:26 And G2532 that they may recover themselves G366 out of G1537 the snare G3803 of the devil G1228, who are taken captive G2221 by G5259 himG846 at G1519 his G1565 will G2307
      I love you

I always love when primitives try to tell people that science is wrong.
Your god is a lie, and if he was real, would be a monster far worse than any human despot. A smart person wouldn't fall for the lie - but a moral person would, at the least, have the courage to spit in his murderous face.

    • @CalvZynist
      @CalvZynist 6 лет назад +1

Stormborn Apostle you poor thing. Your words show, you are blind. You think you can see though, but you are blind. The seed of the serpent SHOULD have been murdered, but you have already shown, you have no knowledge of the word of YHVH the LORD GOD. Those unrepentant serpent seed, the ones who hate Him without cause, like you , bringing to pass the scripture as it is written they hated Me without cause. You have this idea that evolution is proven and true. You have this feeling that you are more wise than one like me, who, ironically knows what the truth of your existence is, while you hope what you think is right. But you don't have the absolute proof, if you think you do, then you are taking someone else's word (man) as the truth but still you don't know whether it is true. Evolution is a nice little lie that seems to tie everything together. But even a 5 the grader knows that nothing can multiply 0 and make anything. Yet, the so called atheists and evolutionists certainly claim that over "millions of years", somehow, when there was nothing, absolute zero in "space" that it ended up in one moment multiplying creating everything randomly. Laughable... 1 Corinthians 3:17 Let G1818 no man G3367 deceiveG1818 himself G1438. If any manG1536 among G1722 you G5213seemeth G1380 to be G1511 wiseG4680 in G1722 this G5129 worldG165, let him become G1096 a foolG3474, that G2443 he may be G1096wise G4680.
      19 For G1063 the wisdom G4678 of this G5127 world G2889 is G2076foolishness G3472 with G3844 GodG2316. For G1063 it is written G1125, He taketh G1405 the wise G4680 inG1722 their own G846 craftinessG3834.
      20 And G2532 again G3825, The LordG2962 knoweth G1097 the thoughtsG1261 of the wise G4680, that G3754they are G1526 vain G3152.
      21 Therefore G5620 let G2744 no man G3367 glory G2744 in G1722 menG444. For G1063 all things G3956 areG2076 yours G5216;
      22 Whether G1535 Paul G3972, orG1535 Apollos G625, or G1535Cephas G2786, or G1535 the worldG2889, or G1535 life G2222, or G1535death G2288, or G1535 things presentG1764, or G1535 things to comeG3195; all G3956 are G2076 yoursG5216;
      23 And G1161 ye G5210 are Christ'sG5547; and G1161 Christ G5547 is God's G2316.
You have fallen to what is so called science as truth. 1 Timothy 6:20 O G5599 Timothy G5095, keepG5442 that which is committed to thy trust G3872, avoiding G1624 profaneG952 and vain babblings G2757, andG2532 oppositions G477 of scienceG1108 falsely so called G5581:
This happens to describe you perfectly but was written thousands of years ago.
Brother, do you not know you are an elohim (angel) caught in Lucifer's snare of flesh?
      Jesus told you in John 10:34 Jesus G2424 answered G611them G846, Is it G2076 not G3756written G1125 in G1722 your G5216law G3551, I G1473 said G2036, Ye areG2075 gods G2316?
Ye are GODS AKA ELOHIM AKA ANGELS
He was quoting the LORD GOD YHVH (Himself) from PSALM 82:6 I have said H559, Ye are gods H430; and all of you are children H1121 of the most High H5945.
7 But H403 ye shall die H4191 like men H120, and fall H5307 like oneH259 of the princes H8269.
I have said YE ARE GODS (angels) but will fall and did like men (what's happening to YOU right now)
You are one of my brethren, I hope you will soften your heart and allow the Truth (which is Jesus Christ) come into you and show you the foolishness of YHVH is more wise than the wisdom of pathetic men who know NOTHING.
I love you, and only told you these things because they are true. I am not speaking lies. I truly hope you figure these things out. That you are an ELOHIM who left your residence as I did and am caught in this snare dying now. But the LORD GOD came into the sinful system of flesh made by Lucifer in Genesis 1, to REDEEM you unto Himself. He died for you. And was resurrected the 3rd day. Most documented event in history. Even pagans and unbelievers have written of His resurrection. Goodbye.

Chrissie797 I dunno, i dont think it was intentional to sound like the enter sandman riff, as that's a pretty standard and common riff that appears in many metal songs (and not as homages to metallica or anything but just because it's such a simple and easy riff, the kind that most beginner guitarists learn right away)

Excellent video! I just saw them last weekend. One of the best shows I have ever seen in my life and I have seen bands such as Maiden, Aerosmith, Kiss, etc. With this release Nightwish is tied for my favorite band of all time (Iron Maiden). Both of those bands have gave me music that has helped me throughout my life, through good times and bad. Nightwish has inspired me to follow my dreams. I'm a gigging musician, music is my passion. My dream is to have my own album and play my own music and thanks to Nightwish I'm on that path, living my dream. We all die one day so why should we be miserable? We should all live our lives to the fullest while we can and Nightwish has made me realize that so thank you Tuomas for providing me with the inspiration to live my life, follow my dreams and of course for giving the world such amazing music.

    [Part 1: Four Point Six]
    Archaean horizon
    The first sunrise
    On a pristine gaea
    Opus perfectum
    Somewhere there, us sleeping
"After sleeping through a hundred million centuries we have finally opened our eyes on a sumptuous planet, sparkling with color, bountiful with life.
Within decades we must close our eyes again.
Isn't it a noble and enlightened way of spending our brief time in the sun, to work at understanding the universe and how we have come to wake up in it?"
    [Part 2: Life]
    The cosmic law of gravity
Pulled the newborns around a fire
A careless cold infinity in every vast direction
Lonely farer in the Goldilocks zone
She has a tale to tell
From the stellar nursery into a carbon feast
    Enter LUCA
    The tapestry of chemistry
There's a writing in the garden
Leading us to the mother of all
    We are one
    We are a universe
    Forebears of what will be
    Scions of the Devonian sea
    Aeons pass
Writing the tale of us all
    A day-to-day new opening
For the greatest show on Earth
Ion channels welcoming the outside world
    To the stuff of stars
Bedding the tree of a biological holy
    Enter life
    The tapestry of chemistry
There's a writing in the garden
Leading us to the mother of all
    We are one
    We are a universe
    Forebears of what will be
    Scions of the Devonian sea
    Aeons pass
Writing the tale of us all
    A day-to-day new opening
For the greatest show on Earth
We are here to care for the garden
    The wonder of birth
    Of every form most beautiful
    Every form most beautiful
    We are one
    We are a universe
    Forebears of what will be
    Scions of the Devonian sea
Aeons pass writing the tale of us all
    A day-to-day new opening
For the greatest show on Earth
    [Part 3: The Toolmaker]
    After a billion years
    The show is still here
Not a single one of your fathers died young
    The handy travelers
    Out of Africa
    Little Lucy of the Afar
    Gave birth to fantasy
    To idolatry
    To self-destructive weaponry
    Enter the God of gaps
    Deep within the past
    Atavistic dread of the hunted
Enter Ionia, the cradle of thought
    The architecture of understanding
The human lust to feel so exceptional
    To rule the Earth
    Hunger for shiny rocks
    For giant mushroom clouds
The will to do just as you'd be done by
    Enter history, the grand finale
    Enter ratkind
Man, he took his time in the sun
    Had a dream to understand
    A single grain of sand
    He gave birth to poetry
But one day'll cease to be
Greet the last light of the library
Man, he took his time in the sun
    Had a dream to understand
    A single grain of sand
    He gave birth to poetry
But one day'll cease to be
Greet the last light of the library
Man, he took his time in the sun
    Had a dream to understand
    A single grain of sand
    He gave birth to poetry
But one day'll cease to be
Greet the last light of the library
    We were here!
    We were here!
    We were here!
    We were here!
    [Part 4: The Understanding]
"We are going to die, and that makes us the lucky ones. Most people are never going to die because they are never going to be born. The potential people who could have been here in my place but who will in fact never see the light of day outnumber the sand grains of Sahara. Certainly those unborn ghosts include greater poets than Keats, scientists greater than Newton. We know this because the set of possible people allowed by our DNA so massively exceeds the set of actual people. In the teeth of those stupefying odds it is you and I, in our ordinariness, that are here. We privileged few, who won the lottery of birth against all odds, how dare we whine at our inevitable return to that prior state from which the vast majority have never stirred?"
    [Part 5: Sea-Worn Driftwood]
"There is grandeur in this view of life, with its several powers, having been originally breathed into a few forms or into one; and that whilst this planet has gone cycling on according to the fixed law of gravity, from so simple a beginning endless forms most beautiful and most wonderful have been, and are being, evolved."

Nightwish has truly outdone themselves with this masterpiece, and you have to with this video. I always get a little choked up at the end of "Part 3: The Toolmaker". It reminds me of all the amazing things humans have accomplished, and how much more we can achieve. Floor singing "We were here!" is definitely my favourite part, because it reminds me of how although human extinction is inevitable(we can assume), we're hell-bent on being remembered throughout the universe. It could be considered narcissistic by some, but(call me crazy) I find it inspiring.

I'm hearing this song whole for the first time and I'm playing it over again and again, it is so familiar to me, like I've already heard it somewhere and the main melody is a true masterpiece, cant wait to hear them playing it live on 7th December!

That song gave me almost the exact same images when I listened to it for the first time. The nuclear explosion on 14:22 gave me a massive chill. Damn, Nightwish, what a band... And great job man...
