- According to Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear, a district judge in Letcher County, Kentucky was shot and killed today in his chambers. A Kentucky state trooper confirms one person is in custody but says it is still early in the investigation. This is a developing situation. NBC News' Sam Brock reports.

Others have reported the shooter was the Sheriff who has been arrested. Not sure why that information is taking so long for law enforcement to put out if true. An everyday citizen would have their name released right away.

I reqd an article that jist said he wanted to speak with the judge alone. They went in, he shot him, then walked out with his hands up and surrendered to police when they arrived. 🤷♀️ still no reason why ..... he clearly meant to do it and was willing to go to prison for it.
Why not explain that the Sheriff shot the judge for messing around with the former's under age daughter?

When I sued the sheriff in Texas that I worked for after discovery my attorney from out of town was terrified of the sheriff. He would only fly in in the middle of the night on a private plane. He wanted to hire security for the trial. I found my horse shot after I filed the lawsuit. These people should know this is what happens when you make cops accountable.

45 years ago, a coworker set me up for a date. I was about 21. I picked this girl up at her front door of her family's house. She was really beautiful, but shy apparently. I couldn't get a word out of her. So I took her to a club to listen to some jazz, and really, I put in the work to try and have a conversation with her, but Ugh, I just couldn't get her engaged. So before too long, I figured I needed to get her home bc there was another party going on that I knew I could enjoy. Got her home about 11, dropped her off, and couldn't get outta there fast enough. A couple of days later at work, my buddy asks me, "So, are you gonna ask So and So out again? She told us she really liked you!" 😮🤨🤔🙄🙄 I asked him how old she was, and he said "16". And "her father is a cop." I asked him, "Are you TRYING to get me thrown in the slammer???!!!!!" Jeez, it was too bad, because apart from being an underage sphinx, in all other respects she was my type for real.
In some states 16 is the age of consent.
Wonder if this story would have ended this way if nevermind.
A gavel can be a deadly weapon
Police should never be allowed in the building with a gun unless they're on official business. Front door should be private security & courtrooms should be bailiffs hired by court services. Attorneys should also be checked thoroughly at security & not waved in just because they're known. Following rules & not pandering would have prevented this 👌.

A lot of people decry all of this wild West gun violence but you must stop and remember that we worked hard laying the groundwork for this environment and it's working out very well and I think it should just be acknowledge when plans come together so well like these have.
