Thanks dude, this is the sort of backyard engineering that I love the most, utilising the simple tools you have and some brain power to get the job done. One of my rears is stuck and I’ll be trying this method.
Thanksss! I been lookin for many vids but I came across this vid and it helped me so much! It worked ! My BCs was stuck on the same collar as yours and I used a jack and rope to pull the coil apart. Thanks for the vid !!
Some good ingenuity there. What I had to do once, and suggest to anyone else having issues: clamp it in a vice on the threaded body, using hockey pucks so the vice doesn’t damage the threads. Then, hammer or pry as necessary
Hello all, im having a similar problems with my bc coilovers but the front dont wanna give what should i do, im afraid if i use an angle grinder i would grind off to much and meas up the thread anyone has any tips on how to cut it off(the lower mount of the coilover in the front)??
This didn’t work, vice didn’t work, multi grips and a hammer didn’t work. Soaked with wd40 for hours, used heat. Didn’t work. Just gonna grind it off and buy a new mount
@@Dice_weiss problem is I have zero sports and can only find bc racing mounts, pretty sure most shocks have the same size thread though so hopefully they fit
you have motivated me to wake up at 6 am to go to my garage and try this woo hoo
hell yeah hope it works!
Did it work? Lol
Did it work!? 😂
@@lukegenesis I don’t think it did i think i had to cut the collar off.
This is great, now we need a fullproof way to get around seized lockrings easily.

I've put a large pipe wrench on my threads (in an area that's not used), the other end in a vice and still can't loosen it!

@@PastorOfMuppetsVIVIVI have you tried contacting the company direct to see if you can order them?
Lmao nobody has time for this bro. I'm using a big flathead and a BFH. Gonna replace the collars anyway since they are cheap
